Stability issues, sporadic performance, but strong governance background
Pros and Cons
  • "Our overall evaluation of Oracle HCM Cloud as a general ledger tool is mixed. It is a comprehensive and versatile piece of software."
  • "We have received some unfavorable feedback regarding Oracle HCM Cloud's performance. This has led us to investigate alternative solutions. In my own experience, I have struggled with the slowness of the cloud assessment and the overwhelming complexity of the software's robust architecture. I have reservations about sharing any positive experiences I may have had with the solution."

What is our primary use case?

We are the finance department for an insurance company. We use Oracle HCM Cloud for general ledger and for bookkeeping purposes.

We sometimes use Oracle HCM Cloud for expense reimbursements, procurements, and HR-related items, such as annual leave, tracking, and terminations.

How has it helped my organization?

Oracle HCM Cloud helped our organization in terms of the governance structure. It has a strong governance background and has helped us to form a solid structure and approval flow to help us to maintain all the controls over our typical processes.

What is most valuable?

Our overall evaluation of Oracle HCM Cloud as a general ledger tool is mixed. It is a comprehensive and versatile piece of software.

What needs improvement?

We have received some unfavorable feedback regarding Oracle HCM Cloud's performance. This has led us to investigate alternative solutions. In my own experience, I have struggled with the slowness of the cloud assessment and the overwhelming complexity of the software's robust architecture. I have reservations about sharing any positive experiences I may have had with the solution.

There are too many functions in the backend of Oracle HCM Cloud, and sometimes, we cannot disable some functions to help us to streamline or to speed up the loading process.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using Oracle HCM Cloud for approximately three years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

On the backend, we have not experienced any difficulties, such as data loss or unexpected downtime. However, the user interface presents various issues such as server connection problems and errors, resulting in the need to close our browser and wait for several minutes before reconnecting to the cloud.

The connection issue seems to only affect this particular software as we have not experienced any problems connecting to other websites. As for performance, some backend batch processes, such as the data model, run efficiently which is a positive aspect. However, when heavily utilizing the user interface, batch problems seem to occur frequently.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

The scalability of the solution is wonderful, we use the integration cloud.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

I have used other similar solutions.

How was the initial setup?

The installation of Oracle HCM Cloud is difficult. It took us eight months to implement and three months of operations.

I rate the initial setup of Oracle HCM Cloud a three out of ten.

What about the implementation team?

We use the help from Oracle HCM Cloud for the implementation.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

The data traffic cost is expensive. The solution can scale up beyond my imagination, but the cost can rise up easily.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

We evaluated NetSuite.

What other advice do I have?

We have a team of five that does the maintenance of the solution.

My advice to others is for them to try out the solution to see if it fits their use case.

I rate Oracle HCM Cloud a five out of ten.

  • "It could be more user-friendly."

What is our primary use case?

It's for HCM, onboarding users, and managing employees.

The solution is deployed on the cloud, and we always use the latest version.

There are more than 1,000 people using this solution in my organization when they want to create or expand their learning system.

What is most valuable?

In terms of ERP, it's a good product. It's convenient.

What needs improvement?

It could be more user-friendly.

For how long have I used the solution?

I've been using this solution for 18 months.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

It's stable.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

It's scalable.

We used a consultant for deployment.

I would rate this solution 7 out of 10.

For those who want to start using this solution, I recommend that they train and set aside some time for the upgrade testing.

A cloud-based human capital management platform with useful interfaces
Pros and Cons
  • "I like the interfaces, and they are fine. I would like to see more interfaces."
  • "Oracle HCM Cloud is highly scalable."
  • "The data uploading part and backup could be better. They are a bit complex. Oracle is continuously changing it from one functionality to another. It's a bit unstable right now, and it's basically on the backend data upload part. If I have to upload, for example, data for 100 employees, it's a bit of a challenge for an end-user. It can be difficult if you're not a technical person and an end-user like me. I administer the platform, and if I get a request to upload and I'm not a technical person, then I'm just lost. I have to do some research and then complete the task. But it's evolving, and I hope it's more user-friendly in the future. In the next release, I would like a more stable mobile application. The current version isn't very stable. It takes time to open, and although they have come up with new UI pages, a few open areas need to be addressed. I would also like to see more robust and user-friendly data uploading techniques that would be helpful for end users like us. We don't have a technical background, and we just want to upload the data for our day-to-day operations."

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using Oracle HCM Cloud for four or five years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

Oracle HCM Cloud is a stable product.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

Oracle HCM Cloud is highly scalable. It can cater to 50 employees or 15,000. That's how many users we have currently, so I think it's fine.

How are customer service and support?

Technical support is good, but sometimes it takes time. The solution provider is accurate, but sometimes it takes time to make them understand what we are facing. Once the issue is clear and understood, they provide a high-quality solution.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Positive

How was the initial setup?

The initial setup is straightforward. We implemented this solution in 2016 or 2017. I think it took about eight to nine months to deploy this solution.

What about the implementation team?

Our in-house team deployed this solution. One or two people can maintain Oracle HCM Cloud. If it's on a daily basis, the issue can be resolved pretty quickly.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

I don't know how much it costs, but I know that everything is included. We don't pay anything extra apart from the licensing fee.

What other advice do I have?

I would tell potential users that not every requirement can be fulfilled. It's best to keep customizations to a minimum. If the product is used as it is, I think it could be much easier to maintain.

On a scale from one to ten, I would give Oracle HCM Cloud an eight.

Which deployment model are you using for this solution?

Public Cloud

If public cloud, private cloud, or hybrid cloud, which cloud provider do you use?

Provides a centralized data management system, but it needs to be collaborative
Pros and Cons
  • "The product's most valuable feature is the centralization of data."
  • "There needs to be familiarity mixed in with novelty."

What is our primary use case?

The primary use case for Oracle HCM Cloud is in a retail environment.

What is most valuable?

The product's most valuable feature is the centralization of data. It gives information on activities in the company and gets people to interact as well.

What needs improvement?

There could be a way to reduce clicks and make it less complicated from the users' perspective. Additionally, there needs to be familiarity mixed in with novelty. It could be collaborative as well.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

The product is working perfectly in terms of stability.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

We have around 25,000 Oracle HCM Cloud users.

How are customer service and support?

Oracle has been extremely helpful in guiding me as a product trainer.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Neutral

What about the implementation team?

A third-party vendor did the initial setup. They encountered difficulty with the implementation to some extent.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

The product could be more affordable.

What other advice do I have?

I advise others to experiment with the platform. Most people think that using this system is complex.

It's a management system that keeps track of all the essential things. It is a great tool and has a lot of potential. I rate it a seven out of ten.

Customizable, frequent updates, and reliable
Pros and Cons
  • "The most valuable features of Oracle HCM Cloud are the easy ability to customize the solution and applications. Additionally, the solution updates the solution"
  • "The solution could improve by having better integration between on-premise and the cloud. It can be difficult and time-consuming to migrate our applications and interfaces."

What is our primary use case?

We provide solutions to customers, such as Oracle HCM Cloud.

We have one financial institution customer that we are in the process of implementing the solution.

The solution is used for finances, procurement, and for everything HR.

What is most valuable?

The most valuable features of Oracle HCM Cloud are the easy ability to customize the solution and applications. Additionally, the solution updates the solution

What needs improvement?

The solution could improve by having better integration between on-premise and the cloud. It can be difficult and time-consuming to migrate our applications and interfaces.

Oracle HCM Cloud is not integrated well into Pakistan's industries.

For how long have I used the solution?

Within the past year, I have utilized Oracle HCM Cloud.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

The solution is reliable and stable.

The cloud version of the solution is quicker than the on-premise.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

Scalability is not required, but it is scalable. However, there are plenty of modules if a company wants to purchase them.

How are customer service and support?

The support could improve to provide companies with migration assistance. The response time for the support from Oracle HCM Cloud is good.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

I have used other solutions, such as SAP SuccessFactors.

How was the initial setup?

We have a lot of data to implement in a large banking environment making the process difficult. It can take approximately two to four months. In smaller environments the implementation.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

The is a license needed to use the solution. The license can be paid in different increments, such as quarterly.

What other advice do I have?

I would recommend this solution to others.

This is the solution we are currently using and we would like to encourage others to implement it as well. With half of our team working from home, it is important for our HR staff to be accessible through the cloud. There is no need for them to physically come to the office as they can easily access their service apps and dashboards remotely.

I rate Oracle HCM Cloud a nine out of ten.

Integrates well, high availability, and suitable for large sized companies
Pros and Cons
  • "The most valuable feature of Oracle HCM Cloud is its integration."
  • "Oracle HCM Cloud could improve by adding AI and more offline capabilities."

What is our primary use case?

We were using Oracle HCM Cloud for many tasks, such as procurement, and supply chain risk management.

What is most valuable?

The most valuable feature of Oracle HCM Cloud is its integration.

What needs improvement?

Oracle HCM Cloud could improve by adding AI and more offline capabilities.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using Oracle HCM Cloud for approximately eight years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

The solution is stable.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

The solution is scalable. The solution is best suited for mid-sized to large companies.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

I have previously used NetSuite and SAP Business One.

How was the initial setup?

The initial setup of Oracle HCM Cloud is complex. It is complex for coding and creating. The solution is highly flexible and has many features with the configuration making it more complex than the NetSuite. The configuration setup takes time.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

The price for Oracle HCM Cloud is expensive in Iran, but in other countries, such as Turkey, it can be reasonably priced.

There are times when the deployment requirements can change and in some cases, we need to have a lot of customization and personalization. This can increase the time the project takes and the cost of the project.

There are some projects where we need third-party software. For example, in a large Turkey and Dubai company, we use the time and labor inside Oracle, but for the others, we didn't use them. We have to create it in-house or we can buy the missing tool from another company. The integration from these third-party companies costs money.

What other advice do I have?

We make a lot of effort in finding what is the best suitable solution for a company. I would recommend others to do their best and research what solution best suits their company's use case and proceed from there.

I rate Oracle HCM Cloud a nine out of ten.

Beautifully designed and easy to implement but has some bugs
Pros and Cons
  • "The application design is beautiful."
  • "We're not receiving the proper support."

What is our primary use case?

In my current company, we are using Taleo for recruitment. However, Taleo is not used as completely. It's more used by the end user. Here, we are using the solution for global HR, payroll, self-service, and absence management. We are using it as a full-fledged product.

How has it helped my organization?

While it is a beautiful solution in terms of design, we are facing some issues on the payroll side. When payroll processing, we are getting rising service requests and we are getting delayed responses from support. It can take 20 to 30 days to get a solution.

I'm working on SaaS environment and we are not able to build some business condition validations like validations.

For example, if you use a business trip request feature, we are having some validations, yet we have to check the budget availability. We are capturing that budget availability yet we are not able to do the consolidation and documentation. It's not seamless.

What is most valuable?

The application design is beautiful. The applications pages and navigation are very clear.

It is very easy to set up and implement.

What needs improvement?

It's not very stable. We have been getting many bugs.

We're not receiving the proper support.

We're having issues with business validation features.

For how long have I used the solution?

I've been using the solution for almost four years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

We're hoping there will be more stability by the end of the year. Right now, it is unstable, and there are bugs. We've dealt with them since day one. That said, many bugs have been resolved. It's getting better. Right now, I'd rate the stability at a six or seven out of ten.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

The solution is scalable and compatible in terms of expanding outward. It's not a problem.

How are customer service and support?

Technical support is not good. Even if we rate the severity and the need is high, they won't reply fast. They aren't available 24/7. We've done many escalations and they just aren't quick to respond. For example, when something is going wrong with payroll, that's something that needs to be fixed fast. And yet, they just don't move on it.

How was the initial setup?

The setup is real easy. When compared to the previous version, it's quite simple. Of course, users need to understand a little bit of mapping. That will take some time to understand. For me, it has taken more than one hour to get that complete data flow under mapping sorted out.

Since I am confident with the setup, I can jump right into production. I'm not doing development; I'm just doing setups.

Sometimes there is maintenance. For example, the customer will need some enhancements. There might need to be reporting extensions added. However, it's manageable. It's not a big issue if maintenance needs to be done.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

I don't have any visibility on the pricing or licensing.

What other advice do I have?

I'm a developer and lead consultant.

I'm currently working with the latest version of the solution.

In comparison to other solutions, this product is very beautiful. It's a pretty good product overall.

I'd rate the solution seven out of ten.

Easy to set up with a nice UI and is capable of expansion
Pros and Cons
  • "Its drag-and-drop reporting is great."
  • "Oracle needs to make some sort of support repository that is up to date."

What is our primary use case?

We primarily use the solution for Oracle Taleo. We use it as part of the hiring process and to enter an employee's information.

What is most valuable?

The solution has a user-friendly interface. It is easy to see data and transactions. The solution is easy to use.

Its drag-and-drop reporting is great. It's simplified many things for us.

We have found the initial setup to be easy.

The solution is stable.

It can scale.

What needs improvement?

Oracle releases each quarter based on enhancement requests and adds more features with applications.

Oracle needs to make some sort of support repository that is up to date. I've been dealing with some documentation that didn't mention a resolution in a 22D release. The documentation should make a note of issues and when they were resolved. It can be confusing for customers if Oracle isn't clear.

For how long have I used the solution?

I've used the solution for around two years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

Navigation and appearance-wise, there is a bit of instability as users can get very confused as to where things are or what to do. The applications have been completely redesigned, and it is disorienting.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

The solution is scalable. It's easy to expand. I'd rate the ability to expand seven out of ten.

How are customer service and support?

Technical support is pretty good. We are mostly satisfied with the level of assistance we get.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Positive

How was the initial setup?

The solution is straightforward and very simple. It's not overly complex.

We did start with requirement gathering and making documentation for the client's requirements. After that, we finalized the document and started the CRP phase to make configurations. After that, we move over to production.

It is super-easy to maintain the solution.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

I don't deal with licensing and cannot speak to the exact cost.

What other advice do I have?

We are an Oracle partner and an implementer. I'm an Oracle, HCM, and cloud consultant.

We're working with the latest version of the solution.

I'd recommend the solution to other users. It's easy to use. I'd rate the solution eight out of ten.

Employee lifecycle management solution that facilitates learning and career development pathways
Pros and Cons
  • "This solution is user friendly and can be used on a mobile phone without a computer."
  • "Although the performance management is good, it could be improved as its functionality is quite basic."

What is our primary use case?

I use the Oracle Learning Cloud and it is a really easy solution to work with. I can take all my courses online, offline and after the solution is updated. All my progress gets tracked. Different learning paths for certain topics are provided and Oracle relates courses across certain topics.

For my manager, it is easy to understand my progress and how I have advanced. The solution offers good performance management that can be used to facilitate growth discussions with managers.

What is most valuable?

This solution is user friendly and can be used on a mobile phone without a computer.

What needs improvement?

Although the performance management is good, it could be improved as its functionality is quite basic. The metrics could be improved as well as the solution's ability to integrate with other solutions.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using this solution for four years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

This is a very stable solution. We have not experienced any issues.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

This is a scalable solution.

How are customer service and support?

I would rate the support for this solution an eight out of ten. They have different ways to raise tickets and a number to call but they aren't always easy to reach.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Positive

How was the initial setup?

I was not involved in the initial setup but I believe that it is easy based on my team's experience. When setting up the solution for customers, we have teams of three including a project manager, functional consultant and a technical consultant.

What other advice do I have?

Those considering using this solution should have a clear idea of exactly what they are looking for and follow good processes when it comes to setting it up.

I would rate this solution a nine out of ten because it is a really good solution with small areas of improvement.

Stable, scalable, and has good integration with other solutions; its integration process is easy
Pros and Cons
  • "What I like most about Oracle HCM Cloud is that I didn't see any area that needs to be dramatically improved. I also appreciate that it has good integration with other Oracle products. The process of integrating Oracle HCM Cloud is rather explanatory. I also found the Oracle library to be helpful. As Oracle HCM Cloud is quite a robust solution, I like it versus other solutions. I like the people at Oracle."
  • "As Oracle HCM Cloud is quite a robust solution, I like it versus other solutions."
  • "Visually, Oracle HCM Cloud needs improvement. For example, the employee portal looks rather old, so it would be awesome if Oracle refreshed its design or if the portal looked more modern. Oracle HCM Cloud works, but visually, it needs improvement."

What is our primary use case?

We used Oracle HCM Cloud for core HR, such as training, career planning, workflow, documentation, and performance management. We used a local solution to cover other functionalities linked to the local legislation, so Oracle HCM Cloud, being a global solution, couldn't cover the rest of the functionalities. In Central Europe, for payroll and local attendance, local solutions need to be used.

What is most valuable?

What I like most about Oracle HCM Cloud is that I didn't see any area that needs to be dramatically improved.

I also appreciate that it has good integration with other Oracle products. The process of integrating Oracle HCM Cloud is rather explanatory.

I also found the Oracle library to be helpful.

As Oracle HCM Cloud is quite a robust solution, I like it versus other solutions. I like the people at Oracle.

What needs improvement?

Visually, Oracle HCM Cloud needs improvement. For example, the employee portal looks rather old, so it would be awesome if Oracle refreshed its design or if the portal looked more modern. Oracle HCM Cloud works, but visually, it needs improvement.

There's nothing specific I'd like added in the next release of Oracle HCM Cloud. Of course, you always have electronic signatures or various levels of electronic validation and advanced payments, but those are more for service-based solutions. Oracle HCM Cloud is also service-based, but it's different from other solutions with specialties; for example, one solution could focus on electronics, while the other could focus on advanced payment. For Oracle to include electronic validation into Oracle HCM Cloud, for example, wouldn't fit the company structure.

For how long have I used the solution?

My experience with Oracle HCM Cloud is three to six months because I took part in its implementation. I wasn't an end-user, but I got accustomed to using Oracle HCM Cloud because I did an integration with it.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

Oracle HCM Cloud is a stable product.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

Oracle HCM Cloud is a scalable product.

How are customer service and support?

I haven't contacted the technical support team for Oracle HCM Cloud.

How was the initial setup?

The initial setup for Oracle HCM Cloud is neither complex nor easy. It's in the middle because it depends on your requirements and inclusions.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

Oracle HCM Cloud is pricey, but price-wise, it's now more competitive than in the past year.

Here in Central Europe, people also look at the pricing, but Central Europe falls under the UAE and Abu Dhabi in terms of headquarters, management, and strategy, but those states don't care too much about the pricing.

Pricing is a significant factor in choosing a solution. In the past, Oracle HCM Cloud was compared to the SAP solution, the largest competitor and up to thirty percent higher in price. Now, Oracle HCM Cloud has a price increase of five to ten percent, which could be pricier than SAP now, but it's a more competitive product nowadays and comparable to SAP.

What other advice do I have?

I can't recall the version of Oracle HCM Cloud I implemented, but it was the version between October 2021 to June 2022.

The product was deployed on the cloud, and the local application was on-premises.

Oracle HCM Cloud requires maintenance. Every application requires maintenance, even SaaS, because you still need an administrator who can communicate with support. In Central Europe, you'll find local solutions with better maintenance and support models than what Oracle offers. Oracle is a huge company that has its policies. Oracle-accredited implementation companies in the Czech Republic need to be better.

My company is a partner of Oracle.

I'd give new or potential users of Oracle HCM Cloud the same advice I'd share on other software, HCM, HRRS, or ERP solutions. A coherent and in-depth analysis has to be made, with all the requirements well-defined. Otherwise, the customer will be eaten alive by any implementation company. After all, Oracle HCM Cloud is a global solution, and Oracle has its policies and standards based on good practices, especially in terms of implementation. If you don't define your requirements well for Oracle HCM Cloud, you'll get the standard setup from the implementer, which you may not need at all, or you may want some changes that would cost you a lot. Knowing your complete requirements and communicating those to the implementation team, even at the local level, is essential, or the whole solution would be very pricey.

My rating for Oracle HCM Cloud is eight out of ten.
