Offers seamless integration and talent management feature supports frequent equipment drives, facilitating smooth operations
Pros and Cons
  • "The most important function is definitely managing the employee and employer staff system. This module allows the company to see information about its own employees. It's crucial for our organization, along with talent management."
  • "The GUI interface should be more user-friendly."

What is our primary use case?

We use Oracle HCM Cloud for human capital management. I also use Oracle eBusiness Suite. That's mainly for handling alerts.

Basically, it is a hiring resource system for my company. As an HCM Cloud software engineer, I help our hiring source department manage and understand the system.

We understand the technicalities through documentation, and then we guide the hiring source department on how the system works and the different modules available. There's a talent management module, for instance.

We guide them because we, as software engineers, have a better understanding of the technical aspects compared to someone who just uses it for hiring purposes.

How has it helped my organization?

The system integrates very well with other Oracle systems. HCM Cloud actually fulfills most of the requirements our organization demands from this tool.

HCM Cloud meets most of the requirements our organization has for the system.

What is most valuable?

The most important function is definitely managing the employee and employer staff system. This module allows the company to see information about its own employees. It's crucial for our organization, along with talent management.

Our organization conducts equipment drives every three months, so talent management is also quite important for us.

HCM Analytics has the potential to be a very valuable module. Because Oracle HCM Cloud offers prebuilt KPIs in HCM Analytics.

What needs improvement?

The GUI interface should be more user-friendly. Because, when I first started working on these modules, I was guided step-by-step by my senior colleagues.

But for someone new to the system, there should be a better, more user-interactive interface that makes it easier for users to understand.

When I first saw it, it felt like a human-understandable version of Linux, because a simple Linux system is not user-friendly for most people. While programmers may understand it, the GUI interfaces on current Linux systems are still not user-friendly enough. That's the point.

When I first saw these modules, I had that initial impression. But, as I started working with them, things started to make sense. So, it was just an initial response, and with time, it was fine.

My suggestion is that the user interface needs to be more user-friendly, especially for new users.

For how long have I used the solution?

My organization has been using it for about six or seven years. Personally, I've been using it for around eight months.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

I would rate the stability an eight out of ten because there are some glitches. But most of the time those glitches are due to human error.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

I would rate the scalability an eight out of ten. In my department only, there are around 30 end users.

How are customer service and support?

I haven't personally contacted Oracle support, but my senior colleagues have worked with them and had a good experience with the Oracle support team.

What about the implementation team?

It was already deployed in my organization when I first joined my company. The modules were already selected and the processes were integrated within the system.

What other advice do I have?

When I came into the organization and was introduced to HCM Cloud, they showed me how it works. I didn't read the documentation in-depth because my colleagues were using specific procedures, so they just guided me through the system.

However, if the organization starts using a completely new module in the same cloud, I would definitely read the documentation and follow the learning path provided by Oracle.

Additionally, the company still uses HCM EBS (e-Business Suite), which is the HRMS system. While HCM Cloud seems better in my assessment.

Based on my experience, I would rate the solution a nine out of ten.

Which deployment model are you using for this solution?

Private Cloud

Reliable, and the technical support is helpful, but the set up could be simplified
Pros and Cons
  • "Oracle is a strong option for purchasing or procurement."
  • "The user interface, as well as the interfaces between modules, should definitely be enhanced."

What is our primary use case?

They were trying to find one solution for the entire organization, which is why they were attempting to use HCM Cloud in combination with the Oracle solution for procurement and finance.

How has it helped my organization?

It helped the company in transitioning to a single platform rather than using multiple enterprises.

What is most valuable?

Oracle is a strong option for purchasing or procurement.

What needs improvement?

I prefer Workday.

The user interface, as well as the interfaces between modules, should definitely be enhanced.

For how long have I used the solution?

I worked with Oracle HCM Cloud for two years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

Oracle HCM Cloud is a very stable solution.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

Oracle HCM Cloud is scalable.

We had approximately 10,000 employees, in our company.

How are customer service and support?

I would rate the technical support a three out of five.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Neutral

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

I use Workday, every day, and I have also worked in SAP.

Workday, in my opinion, is the best HCM solution.

How was the initial setup?

The initial setup was pretty complex.

We had a team of 50 people to deploy this solution and a smaller team of 10 to 15 for maintenance afterward.

What about the implementation team?

We used a third-party consultant to assist us with the deployment.

What was our ROI?

The company had seen a return on investment while using this solution.

What other advice do I have?

The timeline that they give you to implement is always too compact.

I would rate Oracle HCM Cloud a seven out of ten.

Which deployment model are you using for this solution?

On-premises

Robust and dependable but lacks relevancy for the current generation
Pros and Cons
  • "Robust and very dependable."
  • "This solution is valuable because it's robust and very dependable."
  • "Lacks relevancy for the current generation."
  • "Our ROI is okay but it's not in line with what we would like to see or have going forward and that's the challenge. If I want to get a good ROI, I have to invest in improvements."

What is our primary use case?

We are customers of Oracle and I'm employed as the delivery manager.

What is most valuable?

This solution is valuable because it's robust and very dependable.

What needs improvement?

We now have Oracle Cloud Recruiter which is an upgraded version of Fusion. It requires a separate implementation rather than being an upgrade from the older version. It more or less requires an additional investment from us for another round of implementation. That migration is challenging. Fusion is more of a traditional solution so I'd like to see them include anything that will make it relevant for the current generation. Navigation currently requires more steps than it should.

For how long have I used the solution?

I've been using this solution for five years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

The solution is stable.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

The solution is scalable, we have around 5500 users.

How are customer service and support?

Some of the support staff are really good. We have issues when they hand off an outstanding issue to the next person.

How was the initial setup?

When we implemented it was really difficult. We used third parties to implement but the job wasn't sufficient for our needs. HCM can't be deployed in-house which means dependency on implementation partners. If they are not adequately capable, it costs us. We had a very difficult experience with our initial deployment. Maintenance is directly relational to the usage and I'm not getting good mileage out of that.

What was our ROI?

Our ROI is okay but it's not in line with what we would like to see or have going forward and that's the challenge. If I want to get a good ROI, I have to invest in improvements. I don't have great mileage as things stand. The solution needs constant feeding and constant spending.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

It's difficult to assess whether this is an expensive solution. Salesforce, for example, costs about $100+ per month, but it has significant business visibility in terms of revenue, along with great extension ability. Fusion costs less but the usage is low because there's little to entice our employees to access it.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

Salesforce is the main competitor in this field and always comes out on top for us because of its customer support and speed in responding to and resolving any issues. They are very quick. SalesForce is also one of the best in terms of a solution of our choice, probably followed by NetSuite. Fusion lacks sufficient ability.

What other advice do I have?

I rate this solution six out of 10 because it's lacking in certain areas and not at the cutting edge in terms of market needs. I've seen many other tools that really serve our needs but we don't have that here because of their old-fashioned approach.

Which deployment model are you using for this solution?

Public Cloud

A cloud-based human capital management platform with useful interfaces
Pros and Cons
  • "I like the interfaces, and they are fine. I would like to see more interfaces."
  • "Oracle HCM Cloud is highly scalable."
  • "The data uploading part and backup could be better. They are a bit complex. Oracle is continuously changing it from one functionality to another. It's a bit unstable right now, and it's basically on the backend data upload part. If I have to upload, for example, data for 100 employees, it's a bit of a challenge for an end-user. It can be difficult if you're not a technical person and an end-user like me. I administer the platform, and if I get a request to upload and I'm not a technical person, then I'm just lost. I have to do some research and then complete the task. But it's evolving, and I hope it's more user-friendly in the future. In the next release, I would like a more stable mobile application. The current version isn't very stable. It takes time to open, and although they have come up with new UI pages, a few open areas need to be addressed. I would also like to see more robust and user-friendly data uploading techniques that would be helpful for end users like us. We don't have a technical background, and we just want to upload the data for our day-to-day operations."

What is most valuable?

I like the interfaces, and they are fine. I would like to see more interfaces.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using Oracle HCM Cloud for four or five years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

Oracle HCM Cloud is a stable product.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

Oracle HCM Cloud is highly scalable. It can cater to 50 employees or 15,000. That's how many users we have currently, so I think it's fine.

How are customer service and support?

Technical support is good, but sometimes it takes time. The solution provider is accurate, but sometimes it takes time to make them understand what we are facing. Once the issue is clear and understood, they provide a high-quality solution.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Positive

How was the initial setup?

The initial setup is straightforward. We implemented this solution in 2016 or 2017. I think it took about eight to nine months to deploy this solution.

What about the implementation team?

Our in-house team deployed this solution. One or two people can maintain Oracle HCM Cloud. If it's on a daily basis, the issue can be resolved pretty quickly.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

I don't know how much it costs, but I know that everything is included. We don't pay anything extra apart from the licensing fee.

What other advice do I have?

I would tell potential users that not every requirement can be fulfilled. It's best to keep customizations to a minimum. If the product is used as it is, I think it could be much easier to maintain.

On a scale from one to ten, I would give Oracle HCM Cloud an eight.

Which deployment model are you using for this solution?

Public Cloud

Pros and Cons
  • "The tool's implementation has resulted in significant time savings, ranging from 30 to 50 percent across various processes. Oracle HCM, particularly its payroll functionality, has proven to be highly valuable for our organization. Additionally, the ability to implement various customizations has proven valuable. The robust nature of Oracle HCM Cloud ensures high accuracy."
  • "I would like to see improvements in the user experience, specifically reducing the number of clicks required to achieve desired outcomes. Additionally, enhancing the look and feel of the front end and allowing for a greater level of configuration would be beneficial. Its pricing should be less."

What is our primary use case?

In our organization, we leverage Oracle HCM Cloud extensively for a wide range of HR processes. This includes payroll management, employee services, and both manager and employee self-service functionalities. However, it's worth noting that we haven't implemented it specifically for recruitment.

What is most valuable?

Stability issues, sporadic performance, but strong governance background
Pros and Cons
  • "Our overall evaluation of Oracle HCM Cloud as a general ledger tool is mixed. It is a comprehensive and versatile piece of software."
  • "We have received some unfavorable feedback regarding Oracle HCM Cloud's performance. This has led us to investigate alternative solutions. In my own experience, I have struggled with the slowness of the cloud assessment and the overwhelming complexity of the software's robust architecture. I have reservations about sharing any positive experiences I may have had with the solution."

What is our primary use case?

We are the finance department for an insurance company. We use Oracle HCM Cloud for general ledger and for bookkeeping purposes.

We sometimes use Oracle HCM Cloud for expense reimbursements, procurements, and HR-related items, such as annual leave, tracking, and terminations.

How has it helped my organization?

Oracle HCM Cloud helped our organization in terms of the governance structure. It has a strong governance background and has helped us to form a solid structure and approval flow to help us to maintain all the controls over our typical processes.

What is most valuable?

Our overall evaluation of Oracle HCM Cloud as a general ledger tool is mixed. It is a comprehensive and versatile piece of software.

What needs improvement?

We have received some unfavorable feedback regarding Oracle HCM Cloud's performance. This has led us to investigate alternative solutions. In my own experience, I have struggled with the slowness of the cloud assessment and the overwhelming complexity of the software's robust architecture. I have reservations about sharing any positive experiences I may have had with the solution.

There are too many functions in the backend of Oracle HCM Cloud, and sometimes, we cannot disable some functions to help us to streamline or to speed up the loading process.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using Oracle HCM Cloud for approximately three years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

On the backend, we have not experienced any difficulties, such as data loss or unexpected downtime. However, the user interface presents various issues such as server connection problems and errors, resulting in the need to close our browser and wait for several minutes before reconnecting to the cloud.

The connection issue seems to only affect this particular software as we have not experienced any problems connecting to other websites. As for performance, some backend batch processes, such as the data model, run efficiently which is a positive aspect. However, when heavily utilizing the user interface, batch problems seem to occur frequently.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

The scalability of the solution is wonderful, we use the integration cloud.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

I have used other similar solutions.

How was the initial setup?

The installation of Oracle HCM Cloud is difficult. It took us eight months to implement and three months of operations.

I rate the initial setup of Oracle HCM Cloud a three out of ten.

What about the implementation team?

We use the help from Oracle HCM Cloud for the implementation.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

The data traffic cost is expensive. The solution can scale up beyond my imagination, but the cost can rise up easily.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

We evaluated NetSuite.

What other advice do I have?

We have a team of five that does the maintenance of the solution.

My advice to others is for them to try out the solution to see if it fits their use case.

I rate Oracle HCM Cloud a five out of ten.
