What is most valuable?
The interface is easy to use. They keep on adding new features. Acronis recently added multi-platform support.
What needs improvement?
Mobile backup is something that would be good to have. I can't think of anything else, but some performance enhancements and additional features would always be welcome.
For how long have I used the solution?
We've been reselling Acronis for a few years now.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?
Acronis is relatively stable. I haven't seen any significant stability issues, and we don't have any serious concerns with performance aside from typical operational issues, which we see once in a while.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
Acronis is easy to scale.
How are customer service and support?
Acronis customer support is excellent. The vendor is responsive.
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
We use Veeam and Veritas. They are similar products. Acronis has some limitations on the cloud side, but Veeam's cloud backup is quite efficient on cloud backup, especially when it comes to Microsoft 365, etc. Now I think Acronis also has those capabilities.
How was the initial setup?
Setting up Acronis is quite simple. We mostly do it internally. Once our staff is fully trained, we should be able to do it all ourselves, but until then, we'll get help from the vendor. The total time for deployment depends on the size of the project. It can take anywhere from one day to a few days. Acronis requires almost no maintenance.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
The price could be more competitive.
What other advice do I have?
I rate Acronis Backup seven out of 10. I would recommend it because Acronis is a highly effective product. It's easy to use and manage.
Which deployment model are you using for this solution?

What needs improvement?
The solution could be better if some of the features were more in-depth.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have been using Acronis Backup for approximately two years.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
The solution is stable.
How are customer service and support?

Priced well, quick restoration, but re-installation needs improvement
Pros and Cons
- "The most valuable feature is the quick restoration. We can restore the data quickly."
- "In some cases, at the time of reinstallation, some disasters happen. For the licensing on the computer the name of the computer and domain, everything is removed from the registry level. Then we have to install the Acronis from the start for it to work properly. Otherwise, the Acronis software will cause a lot of trouble at the time of reinstallation. That's where they need to improve the product. In the case people want to install the same software with the same hardware, it should not stop me."

Senior Infrastructure Consultant at FORUM INTERNATIONAL
Reliable, scalable, and easy installation with detailed documentation
Pros and Cons
- "For my first experience, it is the best software for backups, especially for a five-system backup."
- "The solution could improve by providing more database backup features and have better integration with many different types of databases. We cannot implement it in all of our infrastructures."
What is our primary use case?
We installed the Acronis Backup agents on the user's computer stations that require backups. We then created a schedule and a backup policy. Additionally, we deployed Acronis Backup on the Windows Server. I connected with the local discs of the server, which will be the targets of the backups.
What is most valuable?
For my first experience, it is the best software for backups, especially for a five-system backup.
What needs improvement?
The solution could improve by providing more database backup features and have better integration with many different types of databases. We cannot implement it in all of our infrastructures.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have been using this solution for approximately one year.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
I have found the solution stable and has good performance.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
The solution is scalable.
How was the initial setup?
The solution is simple to deploy with the provided documentation that was very detailed.
What about the implementation team?
The implementation took us approximately two days with two engineers.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
There is a license required for this solution and it can be on a monthly basis.
What other advice do I have?
I would recommend this solution to others.

Reliable backup and recovery that is easy to deploy and monitor
Pros and Cons
- "Our customers can backup to local storage and they can back up or replicate to the cloud."
- "It supports Microsoft SQL and Microsoft Exchange, but it does not support Oracle databases or Postgres."
What is our primary use case?
Our customers use this solution for backup.
What is most valuable?
Our customers can backup to local storage and they can back up or replicate to the cloud.
It is easy to deploy. It is easy to handle and easy to monitor.
The Acronis system is very powerful.
What needs improvement?
It doesn't support all of the databases. Maybe in the future, it could support databases such as MySQL, or Postgres, as these are some of the customer's needs.
We are looking for IT solutions to backup all systems that our customers are using. It supports Microsoft SQL and Microsoft Exchange, but it does not support Oracle databases or Postgres.
There are many other types of databases that Acronis does not support.
I would like to see more mobile applications available. It would be very nice.
We would like Acronis as an all-in-one, or all-in-box solution. It should be sold as storage, licensing, and application all in one unit. We like to provide complete solutions to our clients rather than having to tell them that they must purchase additional storage. With Barracuda, the device D190 comes with one terabyte backup, and no additional requests have to be made to the customer.
It would be good if Acronis could get the recommended hardware.
For how long have I used the solution?
We have been using Acronis Backup for our customers for more than three years.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
I have not encountered any bugs or glitches with this solution, and it's stable
Many times, we have worked with the recovery, it was available and very successful to restore.
We recently had an issue with a Microsoft Exchange VMware Server where it was down. We got the backup from the storage and were able to restore it. It was very nice.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
Scalability can improve. Acronis doesn't support some of the databases.
How are customer service and technical support?
We are a technical company, we have not opened any tickets with support. We have been able to resolve the issues ourselves, so we have not required any help from Acronis support.
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
We are resellers for Barracuda in Jordan.
Barracuda is a very rigid backup system. All needs are available in Barracuda.
I trust Barracuda. I don't see anything missing in Barracuda. It covers our needs because there is an agent to help with other types of databases.
I would rate Barracuda a ten out of ten.
How was the initial setup?
The initial setup is straightforward. It is very easy.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
We use two different types of licenses for our customers.
We have a Cyber Cloud backup license and we have on-premises storage. Both can be useful for our customers.
The licensing works in nodes. For example, for every node, you have to purchase a license. If I have an Active Directory or a physical server, and I have Microsoft Exchange with a third server, SQL, I will have to purchase three licenses from Acronis.
When compared to Barracuda, the license is based on the device's storage.
It is more expensive than Acronis initially, but as the licenses increase with Acronis, Barracuda ends up being less expensive.
Which other solutions did I evaluate?
We have been evaluating Barracuda to learn more about the services it offers.
What other advice do I have?
As for me, I prefer Barracuda.
Acronis is a good product that works well in small businesses.
I would rate Acronis Backup a nine out of ten.
Which deployment model are you using for this solution?

A user-friendly backup and disaster recovery solution with a useful image creation feature
Pros and Cons
- "It's a good solution that's very easy to use. Acronis has two valuable features. The first one is creating images, and the other is starting virtual machines in the cloud so the client can work immediately."
- "It's a good solution that's very easy to use."
- "It would be better if they made it easier to obtain images for laptops and desktops. It isn't easy right now to have many different types of desktop computers. This is because Microsoft is changing a lot of things in Windows 10."
- "It would be better if they made it easier to obtain images for laptops and desktops."
What is our primary use case?
My clients use it for disaster recovery events. Because of the ERP systems they have, these types of events need a space in the cloud to work immediately and recover the capacity for people to work in the company.
What is most valuable?
It's a good solution that's very easy to use. Acronis has two valuable features. The first one is creating images, and the other is starting virtual machines in the cloud so the client can work immediately.
Another valuable feature is that you could have all the information in the cloud. When you need to start working with a machine, you can do it. This is a very valuable option for our clients.
What needs improvement?
It would be better if they made it easier to obtain images for laptops and desktops. It isn't easy right now to have many different types of desktop computers. This is because Microsoft is changing a lot of things in Windows 10.
Sometimes the computers don't work well, and you need a lot of time to recover the users' information. It's also difficult to get the users' laptops to work with this because Windows can crash in some models, and it takes time to recover all the information.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have been working with Acronis Backup for three years or more.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
It's a stable solution. We've had little problems, but it's with the WAN connection because the client doesn't have enough bandwidth. It wasn't a problem with Acronis, and it was a problem with the client.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
It's a scalable solution. We have medium-sized companies as clients. For example, some have 60 users, and another has 100 users.
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
In Ecuador, a lot of people use Veeam Backup, Arcserve, and Veritas. The government also uses Data Protector from HP. Acronis is very easy and a new way to get backups or any kind of images or information. But Arcserve is a local solution that you need to install in a server and create jobs from another server. Acronis is a cloud solution, but with Arcserve, you need a server to install it. It's a very different way to use this application.
It's difficult to recover from tapes because of certain data center solutions in Ecuador that use UDX. It's like a hard disk that you can connect to a USB port, and you can get all the information. But when it falls on the floor, you can lose all the information in other types of hard disks. But the capacity is not much, just around three or four terabytes. But it's a good solution to use with some clients because they don't have a lot of space in their servers and this capacity is enough to recover old information.
How was the initial setup?
The initial setup is very easy. You just connect the USB port to the server, and it'll see another logical drive. If you use software like GFI Backup, you can program replica backups or have other types of information copied in this logical drive.
You need one person who is the main IT employee and another person who helps the IT Manager maintain this solution.
What about the implementation team?
We implement this solution for our clients.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
You pay for what you use in the cloud. If you don't start the virtual machine in the cloud, you only pay for the information stored there. But when you start the virtual machine, another pricing model is activated.
What other advice do I have?
I would tell potential users that Acronis has more solutions for different environments. You can get information from servers that don't use Windows and use other operating systems like Linux and Ubuntu. You can recover it in the cloud, and you can start a virtual machine. You can synchronize information. You've got a lot of features that the other solutions require you to install locally. It's very easy to use.
Technical support really isn't necessary in many cases because it's very intuitive, and it's not complex to resolve problems. If you want to get more information, you can find it on the Acronis site or the internet. You can resolve most of the little problems on your own.
On a scale from one to ten, I would give Acronis Backup a ten.

Well balanced, very flexible, and very easy to use
Pros and Cons
- "The licensing model is very good."
- "The product is very easy to use, quite stable, very flexible, its feature set is well balanced, the initial setup is very straightforward and the deployment is very fast, and the licensing model is very good."
- "The solution could use a single sign-on integration that can default to the admin dashboard. Right now, it's only username and password. If you had had an additional two-factor authentication, this would be beneficial for me."

What is our primary use case?
We primarily use the solution as backup and recovery.
What is most valuable?
The product is very easy to use.
It's quite stable.
The solution is very flexible.
Its feature set is well balanced.
The initial setup is very straightforward and the deployment is very fast.
The licensing model is very good.
What needs improvement?
The solution is on-premises and therefore is not very scalable.
The solution already covers all of the requirements I need. I don't recall missing a feature or capability.
The solution could use a single sign-on integration that can default to the admin dashboard. Right now, it's only username and password. If you had had an additional two-factor authentication, this would be beneficial for me.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?
The stability of the product is very good. There are no bugs or glitches. It doesn't crash or freeze. It's reliable.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
The solution isn't scalable. It's a set size as an on-premises device.
On an administrative level, three people are on the solution.
We do not plan to increase usage. Using this solution is a bit of a special case within the company.
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
Our company mostly uses Veam. Only I am using Acronis within our organization.
How was the initial setup?
The initial setup is not overly complex or difficult. It's easy and very straightforward.
The deployment is fast. It only takes about 20 minutes or so.
What about the implementation team?
I handled the implementation myself. I did not need the assistance of an implementor or consultant.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
There is a one-time purchase of the product. After that, users only have to pay renewals on maintenance and support. I like the licensing model.
You are paying for very good value. Everything is well balanced. For me, in this case, the pricing is justified. It's worth the price tag.
What other advice do I have?
We are using the latest version of the solution.
I'm responsible for fast and dedicated, fair infrastructure, which is on-premise. I'm using Acronis for Windows 10 and in the company, I'm using the Acronis for ESXi to make backups for virtual machines.
I'd rate this solution at a nine out of ten. We've been very pleased with the capabilities.

User-friendly and good technical support, but the initial setup is complex
Pros and Cons
- "The most valuable feature is the extra protection, especially for the backup."
- "The biggest problem that we have is when the antivirus is installed, the whole machine runs very slowly and some of the machines hang."
What is our primary use case?
We are using this product to back up our HDS node, which is part of a six-node cluster.
What is most valuable?
The most valuable feature is the extra protection, especially for the backup.
The interface is user-friendly.
What needs improvement?
The biggest problem that we have is when the antivirus is installed, the whole machine runs very slowly and some of the machines hang. We had installed it on 500 machines, but when our customer started having issues, we uninstalled it. It seems that it is not able to work on the servers.
Our customers were disappointed with this product and discontinued the service.
For how long have I used the solution?
We have been using Acronis for the past three years.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
This is not a stable product because of the antivirus component. There are a lot of issues.

Pros and Cons
- "It has simple buying options and deployments. You can buy on-cloud, on-premises, or hybrid solutions. Acronis Backup is very easy to deploy. It also does not consume much hardware. The administrator's tasks are very simple. It is very user friendly, and it also has good security features with low-level encryption and data encryption."
- "They can include something called a backup appliance. Although Acronis is a software-driven company, it would be good for customers to have some kind of backup appliance on top of a lightweight operating system. This will also reduce the cost. Currently, the customers have to buy the hardware in addition to the operating system, which increases the overhead in terms of procurement."

It is stable and scalable. We have not had any complaints from the customers.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
I am yet to explore it in terms of scalability in the enterprise environment. It is mostly being used in small companies.
How are customer service and technical support?
I have not yet contacted them.
How was the initial setup?
It is quite simple to deploy. I have my own team for its maintenance. There are four or five qualified engineers.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
It is very cost-effective for the SMB segment, especially for start-ups and smaller environments. It is cost-effective for on-premises and on-cloud deployments in such environments.
What other advice do I have?
We have recently started to sell Acronis solutions. We have been helping customers to understand what Acronis is all about. We give demos to our customers, and customers are quite happy with the demo and cost of Acronis. Overall, it is a good product.
I would recommend this solution for smaller environments. It is mostly being used in small companies. Enterprise customers also usually use it for small projects. I haven't explored it for customers with a really big environment. For big enterprise customers, there are other solutions, like Veritas NetBackup, that provide scalability and support for big infrastructures.
I would rate Acronis Backup an eight out of ten.
