I would say the three most important features are Planner, SharePoint Integration with the file structure, and the Channel functionality. With the channel functionality, we can create and manage people, including external users.
Agile Product Owner specialized on Digital Communication (IT) / Senior Project Manager at APM Digital Europe, s.r.o.
Offers seamless integration and features like Planner, SharePoint Integration, and channel functionality
Pros and Cons
- "The initial setup was okay."
- "In terms of functionality, I would like to see support for multi-user or multiple windows for the File structure."
What is most valuable?
What needs improvement?
There are two topics I'd like to address regarding Microsoft Teams software. First, it is programmed in Electron, which, in my opinion, makes it sluggish. Improving the performance and reducing high CPU utilization would be a great enhancement.
Secondly, in terms of functionality, I would like to see support for multi-user or multiple windows for the File structure. Currently, this can only be done through the browser, and you need to switch accounts to access different windows. Additionally, better support for working with multiple tenants is an ongoing issue.
For how long have I used the solution?
We've been an early adopter of Microsoft Teams. I've been using it since the platform was developed. So, it's been around 15 years, more or less.
We currently use the latest version.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
It is a stable solution. Our entire company operates on this platform, and it has proven to be quite stable. Currently, around 70 end-users are working with Microsoft Teams.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
For our scenarios, scalability is quite high. We mainly set up infrastructure for small and medium corporate clients, so we use the public cloud. We have not faced any scalability issues for up to 20 users, which is the maximum size of clients we typically serve. So, for our specialization, there haven't been any scalability concerns.
How was the initial setup?
The initial setup was okay. For me, as a technical guy, it's easy.
Within a day, we are able to configure everything. Then, there is domain setup, which may take a little time to propagate the domain and other settings because we are configuring clients with websites. So, in general, the configuration takes about two days, and the clients are up and running.
What about the implementation team?
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
We primarily sell the packages we receive from Microsoft to our customers, including email services and other features. From my perspective, the pricing is totally okay.
Which other solutions did I evaluate?
We also use Slack but primarily we are more of a Microsoft-based company.
We heavily use Microsoft Teams. Moreover, it's interesting that Salesforce acquired Slack. We do use Slack internally for some occasions. But, in general, most of our clients in corporate environments prefer Microsoft Teams. So, we have a clear preference for flexibility with Microsoft Teams.
What other advice do I have?
Microsoft Teams is definitely worth adopting. It's a great way to start digitalizing your company and enabling remote work. Without this tool, it's challenging to operate efficiently. There are alternative solutions like Slack, but they are not as compatible with the broader Microsoft ecosystem. With Microsoft Teams, everything integrates seamlessly. You can access files and collaborate through both desktop and mobile applications.
Overall, I'd rate it an eight out of ten because a few points need improvement. Firstly, the CPU utilization can be quite high during calls, which drains the laptop battery quickly. Secondly, there is some sluggishness and delays that can be frustrating. Lastly, working with multiple tenants can be tedious and should be resolved.
Which deployment model are you using for this solution?
Public Cloud
If public cloud, private cloud, or hybrid cloud, which cloud provider do you use?
Microsoft Azure

Seamlessly meet online and collaborate while anticipating enhanced AI capabilities
Pros and Cons
- "All the functions I needed were supported very well, making the product very effective."
- "Improvements could be made in utilizing AI features, such as getting a transcript of meetings."
What is our primary use case?
I used Microsoft Teams for virtual meetings, primarily as a basic user, not as an infrastructure provider.
What is most valuable?
The valuable features of Microsoft Teams include the ability to meet people online, exchange files, and share screens. All the functions I needed were supported very well, making the product very effective. It integrates well with documents stored in Microsoft's repository.
What needs improvement?
Improvements could be made in utilizing AI features, such as getting a transcript of meetings. During my usage, there were no AI features available.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have used Microsoft Teams as a user but not within my network business in the last year. The usage was for meetings involving a partner's team, not my own.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
Microsoft Teams is a stable product. It works fine with no problems during meetings. We also recorded all the meetings without any issues.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
I am sure Microsoft Teams is scalable, however, in my experience, I have not conducted meetings with more than eight participants.
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
I have used both Microsoft Teams and Zoom. For my usage, both platforms were identical in functionality, providing features such as sharing screens, doing chats, and reviewing documents.
How was the initial setup?
The initial setup of Microsoft Teams was easy. It involved downloading the necessary software for the client side, and it ran smoothly.
What other advice do I have?
I would recommend Microsoft Teams to other people, especially if they are a company using a lot of these features. Microsoft Teams integrates well with Microsoft documents. Overall, I would rate it a nine out of ten.

Strategic Account Manager at Yip Intsoi
Worldwide platform that can be used by all companies
Pros and Cons
- "I think it is stable when I use it for meetings with my customers...The initial setup of Microsoft Teams is easy."
- "I don't know how to upgrade some features for integration. It is difficult when it comes to integration with other platforms in some organizations."
What is our primary use case?
I use the tool to have virtual meetings with my customers.
What is most valuable?
I think it's a worldwide platform that can be used by all companies. It's also very easy to use and integrate with Microsoft Exchange.
What needs improvement?
The tool is perfect for the present. I don't know how to upgrade some features for integration. It is difficult when it comes to integration with other platforms in some organizations. For some small customers, with the features of Microsoft Teams, I am not sure about how to update it. I want feedback about some features from the customers of Microsoft Teams. Improvement-wise, there needs to be a better way to search for a customer such that it gives an indication while being integrated into some other platform, like LinkedIn.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have been using Microsoft Teams for about nine years. I am a customer of the solution.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
I think it is stable when I use it for meetings with my customers.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
Around 1,000 people use the solution.
How was the initial setup?
Microsoft Teams is deployed on the cloud. The initial setup of Microsoft Teams is easy.
What other advice do I have?
I would definitely recommend the solution to those planning to use it.
It is a stable platform that can integrate with Microsoft Exchange because I use Microsoft Exchange in my electronic mail. When I am in a meeting with my customer, I can get the meeting link and send it to the host calendar. It's easy to use. There is also the tool's platform available on mobile, making it easy to use when traveling.
Overall, I rate the solution a nine out of ten.
If public cloud, private cloud, or hybrid cloud, which cloud provider do you use?
Microsoft Azure

A flexible solution that provides screen sharing and chat retention
Pros and Cons
- "Screen sharing and chat retention are the most valuable features of Microsoft Teams."
- "Since Microsoft Teams is a typical Microsoft product, inviting guest users to the conversation can be problematic if they're not in the active directory."
What is our primary use case?
I use Microsoft Teams for remote communication with other members of my team.
What is most valuable?
Screen sharing and chat retention are the most valuable features of Microsoft Teams.
What needs improvement?
Since Microsoft Teams is a typical Microsoft product, inviting guest users to the conversation can be problematic if they're not in the active directory.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have been using Microsoft Teams for ten years.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
I rate Microsoft Teams a nine out of ten for stability.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
Microsoft Teams is a pretty scalable solution. I rate Microsoft Teams a nine out of ten for scalability.
How was the initial setup?
The solution's initial setup is pretty easy. I rate Microsoft Teams an eight out of ten for its ease of initial setup.
What about the implementation team?
The solution's deployment takes about an hour.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
Microsoft Teams' pricing is fine. I rate Microsoft Teams a three out of ten for pricing.
What other advice do I have?
Microsoft Teams is deployed on-cloud in our organization.
Microsoft Teams is definitely better than Google Meet because Google Meet doesn't retain chat history after the sessions, which is not very good. Zoom is frustrating because the account management is all hosted by a third party. Zoom works, but you're constrained. Microsoft Teams is a little bit more flexible.
The advice I would give to people looking into using Microsoft Teams is that it is not linked directly to Active Directory. Even though it's called Microsoft, it's still a third-party plug-in. You have to be aware that Outlook Web Access needs to be enabled in order to use calendars and scheduling with people who aren't in your organization.
Overall, I rate Microsoft Teams a nine out of ten.

Professor at FESB - Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Naval Architecture
With good integration and collaboration capabilities, the tool also provides scalability
Pros and Cons
- "We didn't face any problems with the product's scalability. Scalability-wise, I rate the solution a ten out of ten."
- "It takes me time to adapt to the new improvements in the product, and they don't add too much value for me. I would prefer Microsoft Teams to reduce their frequent updates."
What is our primary use case?
In my organization, we use Microsoft Teams and SharePoint for collaboration purposes. Microsoft Teams is the best collaboration platform since everything is integrated with the product. Most of the users of Microsoft in our organization are familiar with its technologies, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, making it easy for the end users to use SharePoint and Teams.
What is most valuable?
SharePoint is not really good for us. Microsoft Teams is integrated with email, and we are also using a team for collaboration because we work in a university where we have to collaborate with the students, making it an okay solution for us.
What needs improvement?
The room for improvement needed in Microsoft Teams depends on what you are looking for and your uses of the product.
Honestly, I would like not to see any improvements because all these improvements normally I don't use. It takes me only time to adapt to the new improvements in the product, and they don't add too much value for me. I would prefer Microsoft Teams to reduce their frequent updates.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have experience with Microsoft Teams. I work at the university, and we are just a consultant for some companies.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
The product's stability is decent. Stability-wise, I rate the solution a nine out of ten. I don't have any complaints about its stability.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
We didn't face any problems with the product's scalability. Scalability-wise, I rate the solution a ten out of ten.
In our workplace, we have 250 employees and 3,000 students who use Microsoft Teams.
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
We previously had our own solution, but we had a problem with the staff and other people in general, and eventually, it became too expensive for us. It was hard for us to find a system engineer or integrator. We decided to move to the cloud because it was impossible for us to manage such a relatively huge system considering that every year, we had about 600 to 700 students coming in, for whom we had to do the integration processes.
How was the initial setup?
The setup phase of Microsoft Teams was easy.
The setup phase was completed in a couple of minutes because we have a good infrastructure, so we had no problem integrating the product with other solutions.
I am not involved in the deployment since it is covered under the services we get from Microsoft.
The solution is deployed on the cloud.
I can't speak on the steps involved in the deployment process since my company gets an expert from outside to do the deployment and integration for us.
We have two people, including one developer and one system administrator, for the deployment and maintenance of the solution. We don't really have any problems with the deployment and maintenance because everything is on the cloud.
What about the implementation team?
Our organization used Microsoft's services in the cloud for deployment purposes since it is much cheaper and easier for us than to have our own infrastructure for deployment. In short, we didn't do the deployment in-house.
What was our ROI?
For my organization, we are okay with the ROI that the product provides.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
The government takes care of the licenses with Microsoft and all the other legal stuff since we are a state university. The prices are much lower when the government negotiates with Microsoft rather than when we do it ourselves.
What other advice do I have?
I would definitely recommend the solution to those planning to use it.
Overall, I rate the solution an eight out of ten.

Network security architect at ATOS
Easy to use for video conferencing
Pros and Cons
- "Almost 70% of the world currently uses Microsoft Teams because it is easy to use."
- "I would like to get less frequent updates from the solution."
What is our primary use case?
Microsoft Teams provides everything that users need, including the cameras and attachments. With the help of Teams, you can manage your data transfer into the environment.
What is most valuable?
Almost 70% of the world currently uses Microsoft Teams because it is easy to use.
What needs improvement?
I would like to get less frequent updates from the solution.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have been using Microsoft Teams for many years.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
I rate the solution’s stability a nine out of ten.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
Around 3,50,000 users are using the solution in our organization.
I rate the solution’s scalability eight and a half out of ten.
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
Microsoft Teams is a better video conferencing tool than Skype.
What other advice do I have?
Microsoft Teams has good features that users require. We can connect with Microsoft Teams from anywhere in the world. Even if you don't have a phone, you can connect with Microsoft Teams. You only require an internet connection.
Overall, I rate the solution a nine out of ten.

Associate Professor at Pázmány Péter Catholic University
Employs file sharing functionality based on SharePoint, facilitating document access and collaboration
Pros and Cons
- "It's great for meetings and even hybrid classes, for example, where the teacher has students attending in person and online at the same time. It's really convenient for that too, and I like that you can easily share presentations."
- "The only issue is sometimes, when I share my screen, and there's text on it, the compression can make it very blurry. If Teams could solve this problem so that text remains clear during screen sharing, that would be nice."
What is our primary use case?
We've got different groups for each course at the university on Teams, so we use it mostly as a communication platform with students and staff. We use the file-sharing function, which is based on SharePoint.
The file-sharing function is connected to the SharePoint platform, we mostly use this, and most of the time, these components are integrated with Office applications like Excel or PowerPoint.
We don't have the email function in Teams. We use a separate software for that, and unfortunately, we don't have the Calendar function.
How has it helped my organization?
Communication within the university has improved. For one, every conversation has its history well organized, making it easier to search for previous conversations or topics.
Also, the contact list views are useful; everyone from the university is there, and you can easily make a video call. It's easier for students to reach teachers, and communication is faster because you get notifications.
We also use it with the integration of Microsoft applications.
What is most valuable?
The data IP identification for each message and the ability to organize discussions in separate channels within a team.
Microsoft Teams' video conferencing capabilities are good. The direction is very good, especially since we started using that feature early on.
The experience has gotten a lot better. In the beginning, it was difficult for a lot of people in a video conference. We couldn't see all the participants or it was difficult to move the screens around. But now, it's much more convenient to use.
It's great for meetings and even hybrid classes, for example, where the teacher has students attending in person and online at the same time. It's really convenient for that too, and I like that you can easily share presentations.
Sharing presentations is easy, which is particularly convenient for hybrid classes where the teacher has students both on-site and online.
What needs improvement?
The only issue is sometimes, when I share my screen, and there's text on it, the compression can make it very blurry. If Teams could solve this problem so that text remains clear during screen sharing, that would be nice.
For how long have I used the solution?
We started using Microsoft Teams at the company four years ago.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
I would rate the stability an eight out of ten. There have been some problems throughout using Teams, but they only affected one or two days at most.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
From my point of view, the scalability seems very good. We didn't have any problems. It's not the highest level we have from Microsoft services, but even with courses with more than a hundred participants, there are no problems.
There are around a thousand end users in my university. Students come in and they graduate, so that number doesn't change much.
How was the initial setup?
I would rate my experience with the initial setup a nine out of ten, with ten being easy to set up.
It is easy to set up.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
The pricing is okay. The higher education department manages the subscription, so I am unaware of the licensing costs.
What other advice do I have?
I would recommend using different types of Teams for work. You can create several kinds of things for your work, and that's a key or very important point to select the right one for your needs.
Also, it is good to know about other applications you can integrate with it because that can also increase productivity.
Overall, I would rate the solution a nine out of ten.
Which deployment model are you using for this solution?
Hybrid Cloud
Disclosure: My company does not have a business relationship with this vendor other than being a customer.
Sr. Manager - Human Resources at a manufacturing company with 10,001+ employees
A scalable and stable tool for online meetings that need to improve its sharing capabilities
Pros and Cons
- "Microsoft Teams is bundled with Microsoft, so that's the number one valuable feature for me. It's easy to use."
- "I think the ability to use a whiteboard in the solution is not very simple."
What is our primary use case?
We use Microsoft Teams for all kinds of online meetings, cards, chats, and everything.
What is most valuable?
Microsoft Teams is bundled with Microsoft, so that's the number one valuable feature for me. It's easy to use. It is also hugely connected and stable.
What needs improvement?
I think the ability to use a whiteboard in the solution is not very simple. You need to have it separately. Also, sharing is something in the solution that becomes quite complicated sometimes.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have been using Microsoft Teams. It's a great solution. From the time COVID started, my company has been using Microsoft Teams. We started using it somewhere around 2018 or 2019. I am just a user of the solution.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
I haven't seen any stability issues in the solution.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
Microsoft Teams is very easy to scale. In my company, we have around 40,000 to 50,000 users of the solution.
How are customer service and support?
I don't know about Microsoft's support because we don't see all that since we have our own in-house teams.
What about the implementation team?
I had Microsoft Teams installed by the IT department.
What other advice do I have?
I wouldn't have any advice to offer because I don't know other solutions very well. I am like a fish in a pond that has never seen anything beyond the pond. Since I am satisfied with the solution, I would recommend it to others.
I rate the overall solution a seven out of ten.
Disclosure: My company does not have a business relationship with this vendor other than being a customer.
