We are a small startup media company with a lot going on. As we grew, disorganization became a serious problem. I turned to Monday, which has allowed us to work and flow as a growing team. It has also provided a concrete organizational basis for how we run our day-to-day.
Director Of Brand Partnership at Flylords LLC
Easy to set up with excellent automations and sharable boards
Pros and Cons
- "The automations are fantastic for rewarding progress."
- "Monday has allowed us to work and flow as a growing team and has provided a concrete organizational basis for how we run our day-to-day."
- "While great, the shareable boards lack some features that normal boards possess and that’s a big burden for us."
- "While great, the shareable boards lack some features that normal boards possess and that’s a big burden for us."
What is our primary use case?
How has it helped my organization?
It’s all about organization and communication. Monday has a million different features, so we can organize how we want, not how we’re told to. This has led to more creative problem solving when it comes to growth and has greatly improved client rapport and retention.
What is most valuable?
The automations are fantastic for rewarding progress. I also really enjoy the ability to tag coworkers in projects instead of emailing them or using Slack. Also, the shareable boards have been a game-changer with clients. The automations are fantastic for rewarding progress.
What needs improvement?
While great, the shareable boards lack some features that normal boards possess and that’s a big burden for us. It’s hard to not know what the client sees and that makes us look a little unorganized. They can also be a little buggy sometimes.

Media Buyer at The Gig Agency
Centralizes communications, offers great visibility, and makes it easy to assign tasks
Pros and Cons
- "I am able to add in deadlines and filter by work assigned, in progress, and completed."
- "Monday allows clear communication by task, project, and department and makes it easy for us since we are all in different time zones."
- "It would be nice to have a general section at the top of each group."
- "It would be nice to have a general section at the top of each group."
What is our primary use case?
I work at a digital marketing agency. I am a media buyer, and I am constantly working with other departments on my team (graphic designers, email, project managers, dev team, account managers, etc).
Monday allows clear communication by task, project, and department and makes it easy for us since we are all in different time zones. I like Monday as it allows me to divide up my work by client. I can color coordinate each client and have all necessary work/tasks/projects under each client. I organize by month to ensure everything is done on time and can start over fresh at the beginning of each month.
How has it helped my organization?
Monday allows me to divide up my work by tasks or clients. I am able to add in deadlines and filter by work assigned, in progress, and completed.
It's very helpful as a visual tool of what my daily tasks are. It's the perfect solution for someone who is very into organization and also is a visual person, as you can color code everything, filter by the specifications you desire (due date, progress, client, etc), and you're able to "clean" the space by removing tasks that have already been completed.
What is most valuable?
My favorite feature is being able to create team tasks and assign them to the correct team member with the necessary due dates, notes, documents, etc.
Everything is held all in one place which makes communication and visibility great.
It's easy to get siloed into your own department, and when you're working remotely sometimes communication can be hard. Being able to see the progress in real-time of different projects that you are working on with team members is very helpful.
You can even add clients to the tasks so they can also keep up to date with how things are coming along.
What needs improvement?
It would be nice to have a general section at the top of each group. For instance, I have my own media buying board that is divided up into "groups" (one for each client). It would be ideal to have a place at the top of each group to write down evergreen information. For example, for me, I could include things like goals, budget, strategy, quarterly to-do's, and other things I am not necessarily checking off or marking as done weekly or monthly. This could also be helpful when onboarding new employees and getting them brought up to speedo on clients. It could also be a place where we link things like brand guidelines and other important documents from the client.
For how long have I used the solution?

Senior Marketing Manager at What3Words Limited
Cost effective with great Slack integrations and useful color coding
Pros and Cons
- "With multiple team members working on multiple fast-moving briefs, tasks, and projects - often remotely and in different timezones - Monday.com has become our reliable source of truth to oversee and manage everything that's going on."
- "With multiple team members working on multiple fast-moving briefs, tasks, and projects - often remotely and in different timezones - Monday.com has become our reliable source of truth to oversee and manage everything that's going on."
- "The marketing notification emails from Monday.com are really poor and of little value to the user."
- "The marketing notification emails from Monday.com are really poor and of little value to the user."
What is our primary use case?
We use Monday.com to efficiently manage marketing briefs, projects, teams, and marketing deadlines.
Marketing Managers will submit a brief to the platform and indicate the resourcing requirements. The brief will then be assigned to one or several members of the creative studio team who specialize in delivering work across video, design, copy, and production.
With a hybrid team that works both remotely and in the office - and sometimes in different time zones - it allows us to manage multiple projects across consumer, PR, B2B, and partner marketing.
How has it helped my organization?
With multiple team members working on multiple fast-moving briefs, tasks, and projects - often remotely and in different timezones - Monday.com has become our reliable source of truth to oversee and manage everything that's going on.
It enables us to work fast and manage internal resources and a huge volume of marketing deliverables and external deadlines more easily and efficiently. It's easy to log into the platform anywhere with an internet connection meaning it's always available to check and keep updated on what's going on and what needs to happen.
What is most valuable?
The Slack integration is fantastic for working in a fast-paced environment. It's the quickest way to read, follow and respond to project updates and prevents important updates from being missed, whereas before the Slack integration these updates could easily be missed on the Monday.com platform.
The ability to see who has viewed an update or comment on Monday.com is really helpful when it comes to trusting that work is in hand, or suggesting that something needs chasing.
Being able to use colors to separate different types of projects is also really helpful from a user-friendly/UX perspective.
What needs improvement?
The marketing notification emails from Monday.com are really poor and of little value to the user.
For example, I get an email notifying me that "a team member has started on your item" which is meaningless information to me without actually opening up the Monday.com platform, which takes time and creates a slow and clunky process.
A new feature that gives studio teams the ability to upload creative content so reviews and feedback processes could also be managed on the platform would be really helpful.

Global Manager, Brand Engagement at Aircall
Powerful with great control over permission levels and excellent visibility across shared projects
Pros and Cons
- "The solution just makes it so much easier to keep track of where things are."
- "When I show this to clients (and even my mother who I do business with sometimes), they are so impressed at how organized and easy it is to access information."
- "More customizations for automation would be useful."
- "While I love Monday, getting others in the company to adopt it can be a real challenge."
What is our primary use case?
I use Monday mostly for providing visibility on shared projects. Before, at my full-time job in event marketing and branding. This was nice to have as my work would involve many people and many moving parts.
I had project boards for each event or campaign. I had a board to represent my project for the quarter and overall status (for the big picture, for example: for the manager). Then, I had my personal board here where I'd manage all the tasks from various projects I have.
I've also used this for independent contract work to keep track of things with clients.
How has it helped my organization?
The solution just makes it so much easier to keep track of where things are. I use Monday as a source of truth and sort of a knowledge hub for everything happening around a project. It also really helps to cut back on repetitive questions. After a while, people get the hint when you direct them to the Monday board when they keep asking you the same things.
As I mentioned in the con, universal adoption in an organization is a huge challenge. That's definitely something to be aware of when signing on as a customer.
What is most valuable?
I found shared boards and their various permission levels to be super valuable. When I show this to clients (and even my mother who I do business with sometimes), they are so impressed at how organized and easy it is to access information.
I like how I can silo who sees what by board (and not automatically have to allow everyone to see everything in the workspace). Also, while the automations could use some enhancements, the ones that work really work.
Monday is such a powerful tool. I have used it to integrate survey responses into a Slack group. I have used it to track my personal accomplishments. I have used it for so many things.
What needs improvement?
More customizations for automation would be useful. Sometimes, the built-in options are limiting and do not allow for the intended workflow.
Also, I find the data input aspect tedious. If there were more automated ways of updating boards that'd make it easier to maintain. While I love Monday, getting others in the company to adopt it can be a real challenge.
Lastly, I wish there were better tools for integrating work from each project. For example, as an event planner, I may have several event boards with different collaborators. Each event has various tasks and responsibilities and deadlines that I am personally responsible for. However, there is no seamless way to integrate all of my personal responsibilities into one space where I can easily manage the tasks. I understand I can assign them to myself and work that way, however, I just find it clunky and I wish Monday could show a little more love to the personal task management/organization side vs. being mostly a collaboration tool.
For how long have I used the solution?
I've used the solution for a couple of years.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
There are occasional outages like most tech, however, it is mainly very stable.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
The solution is very scalable.
How are customer service and support?
It takes a while to hear back from technical support with product-related questions.
How would you rate customer service and support?
Neutral
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
I've used Asana before as it was free, however, the company I worked for signed up for Monday, and I have been hooked since then.
How was the initial setup?
The setup was very easy since I'm a small business.
What about the implementation team?
I did the setup in-house.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
It was pretty straightforward in my case, however, I am a small business. I'm sure this is more complex for big companies.
Which other solutions did I evaluate?
I had already used Monday for my job, therefore, I knew I wanted it for my personal and independent work as well.

Laboratory Technician at Hesperos Inc.
Easy to assign tasks and add notes with helpful technical support
Pros and Cons
- "The scalability is unlimited."
- "It is an invaluable tool to my team and prevents miscommunication among the company as a whole."
- "The product can be improved by adjusting some of the ways in which the "boards" work."
- "The product can be improved by adjusting some of the ways in which the "boards" work."
What is our primary use case?
My biotechnology company utilizes Monday.com for a number of purposes. Principally, it is used to quickly and efficiently convey tasks for the day on an easily accessible platform. This information is typically inputted for the week via desktop computer and then reviewed on the phone application by myself and my fellow employees. Once (or during) the completion of tasks, we are able to add in comments and feedback in real-time. It is an invaluable tool to my team and prevents miscommunication among the company as a whole.
How has it helped my organization?
Monday.com has greatly improved my organization. In the past, we had many problems with instructions being misinterpreted and tasks being left undone. Now, through the use of Monday.com, I am able to easily add in tasks for the day without the headache of them being forgotten. Further, being able to add in notes and updates eliminates any confusion for procedural tasks or for when a certain aspect of a project is adjusted. Finally, Monday.com has helped in eliminating the feeling of work bleeding over into daily life.
What is most valuable?
The most valuable feature is the ability to assign individuals to a task with a specific date and time for said task. Since our projects are run by a network of interdisciplinary personnel, it can oftentimes become confusing when a task is put out into workflow without a definitive purpose. Thus, this feature helps in adding more weight to a "task" and adds a touch of personal responsibility to each input. I couldn't be happier with this system of checks and balances and would recommend it to anyone.
What needs improvement?
The product can be improved by adjusting some of the ways in which the "boards" work. I oftentimes run multiple experiments that, at my laboratory, are repetitive. Thus, many of the procedural tasks are the same for these projects. I typically will copy and paste these tasks into a new project, however, it becomes monotonous as the software only allows me to copy and paste items one at a time. Further, it not only copies and pastes the name of the task and the notes, but it also copies over the exact date and personnel responsible for said task. A great improvement would be including an option to paste only the name of the task and the notes.
For how long have I used the solution?
I've used the solution for two years.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
The stability of this solution is long-term as it is the most efficient in its market, respectively.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
The scalability is unlimited.
How are customer service and support?
Technical support is great and very professional.

Headmaster at Grace Covenant Academy
Great shared boards, helpful automation, and useful dashboards
Pros and Cons
- "The solution is easily scalable."
- "Monday.com has revolutionized our ability to function as a non-traditional educational model."
- "There are no missing features that I can think of."
What is our primary use case?
We primarily use the solution for process creation and then management, remote project and task management, and communication. Specifically, we use the product for admissions, enrollment, human resources, financial tracking, business operations, and project management.
How has it helped my organization?
The product has improved our organization via improved communication and transparent processes and has become the designated place to find information. It offers better management of remote people and projects. Monday.com has revolutionized our ability to function as a non-traditional educational model.
What is most valuable?
We like the shared boards, forms linked to the board, automation, and dashboards.
The shared boards have helped us to have quicker access to the tasks in each process, and the progress being made. Especially in our model, employees and teams need quick access when they cannot wait on a response from another person.
Dashboards have been key in managing revolving tasks and projects. It has helped us reign in annual tasks that may be forgotten, and weekly dept maintenance tasks. In effect, Monday is helping us create manuals which can be handed to new staff with their tasks, and explanations - and a means to monitor and manage.
What needs improvement?
There are no missing features that I can think of.
For how long have I used the solution?
I've used the solution for roughly two years.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
The product is very stable - and has great support to add features.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
The solution is easily scalable.
How are customer service and support?
Support is excellent. It is easy to find answers, and they offer quick contact the few times we couldn't.
How would you rate customer service and support?
Positive
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
We previously used a combination of Google Drive and paper.
How was the initial setup?
The initial setup is pretty straightforward. It has good help and videos. The hardest part was buy-in from those familiar with other solutions.
What was our ROI?
We haven't measured ROI, however, I can say we wouldn't have made it through COVID if it weren't for Monday.
Also, our staffing can run pretty lean thanks to the tools on Monday.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
I'd advise new users to choose an option for your core team, then add as you need to.
I'd also suggest users change the setup of default boards so that not everyone in company is notified with each addition or change. We almost lost people who were overwhelmed with notifications.
Which other solutions did I evaluate?
We did a Google comparison and liked Monday.com best.
What other advice do I have?
It is a great product and worth the investment.

Talent Partner at Artium
Great dashboards, helpful templates, and makes it easy to assign team members to tasks
Pros and Cons
- "Monday.com has provided a centralized and easy-to-use area for my team to store all of our information and collaborate together."
- "Monday.com has provided a centralized and easy-to-use area for my team to store all of our information and collaborate together."
- "It would be nice to have more customization around the documents, such as different title headings, fonts, etc."
- "It would be nice to have more customization around the documents, such as different title headings, fonts, etc."
What is our primary use case?
I'm a part of our talent team, so we utilize Monday.com for scheduling candidate interviews, housing important information around our best practices, as well as housing data and metrics.
We have also used it for process documentation, organizational documentation, and collaboration.
We have utilized the forms feature for being able to collect information from team members, candidates, etc. We are a team of about 15, and it's been really nice being able to have one centralized area for us to work from.
How has it helped my organization?
Monday.com has provided a centralized and easy-to-use area for my team to store all of our information and collaborate together. It's much easier than having to use multiple platforms. We really appreciate the customizable nature of dashboards, and it's really been a game-changer when it does come to housing documentation on our team.
Previously, we only used Google Drive, however, it was somewhat limiting since we really only used Google Docs. With Monday.com, we're able to have information stored in different formats, which is also helpful for different learning styles on our team.
What is most valuable?
My team has found the dashboards, subitems, assigning team members, and documents to be most valuable for what we do.
We don't tend to use the templates that are included in Monday.com, however, it's really nice to have flexibility over how we house our information and are able to use the platform.
The one piece that has been extremely useful is the form feature. My team has been able to use that to get candidate information and schedule interviews without as much of the back and forth through emails.
What needs improvement?
I honestly can't think of much off the top of my head—Monday.com has pretty much everything that my team would need to use on a day-to-day basis. Something that might be interesting to see in the future is having sub-items within sub-items so our team can be more granular with things.
It would be nice to have more customization around the documents, such as different title headings, fonts, etc. Just having more we can do with creating documents so we don't have to switch between Monday.com and Google Docs would be great.
For how long have I used the solution?
My team has been using Monday.com for over a year now.
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
We did not use a different solution.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
It's worth the cost and it's honestly pretty user-friendly and easy to learn.
Which other solutions did I evaluate?
We did not evaluate other options.

Works
Easy for management of multiple projects with automatic deadline reminders and helpful support
Pros and Cons
- "With the work boards easy to convert to Gantt charts, valuable time is saved when preparing for project meetings."
- "Since bringing in Monday.com and using this for all projects, all stakeholders know their roles and responsibilities - meaning that projects now run in a timely manner and are very rarely overrun."
- "I would like to see Monday.com create a Work Package Template which could be created and adjusted as per each project but could also be amended via an app on site should this be required."
- "The solution is expensive yet worth it."
What is our primary use case?
We use the solution to manage, oversee, and collate various projects within the telecom, security and IT sectors. The projects are of a great variety and contain many stages. I assign and delegate tasks to all project stakeholders inclusive of deadline dates. When managing multiple projects of no less than 15 at any one time, this software is great to get an overview of where you are and what deadlines are upcoming. With the work boards easy to convert to Gantt charts, this saves valuable time when preparing for project meetings
How has it helped my organization?
With setting up different users and tasks for each project stakeholder, when managing multiple projects the work overview board creates a clear list of what tasks are required from each stakeholder and when they are needed by. This is not only on the actual date. It is for future dates ahead as well.
Since bringing in Monday.com and using this for all projects, all stakeholders know their roles and responsibilities - meaning that projects now run in a timely manner and are very rarely overrun.
When working away from the office, the speech bubble for updates makes it easier to receive updates rather than via email.
What is most valuable?
The fact we are able to set automatic deadline reminders means that we will never forget a task that could delay the project and break various project tolerances.
With the work boards easy to convert to Gantt charts, valuable time is saved when preparing for project meetings.
Extracting individual work boards to send to each client to give them an overview and update of the status of their project saves valuable time creating individual RAID Logs.
It's vital when you are managing multiple different projects at any one time.
What needs improvement?
I would like to see Monday.com create a Work Package Template which could be created and adjusted as per each project but could also be amended via an app on site should this be required.
In addition, it would be good to have a signature field that clients could either sign via the app or email. This could be then utilized to sign off any jobs or acceptance once the project has been completed.
We'd like software for all elements of project management including sign-off in one central place without the need for an additional subscription - that would be perfect.
For how long have I used the solution?
I've used the solution for three years.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
There have been a few outages, however, it is quickly fixed.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
Adding a signature field would fulfill my needs in terms of scale.
How are customer service and support?
The product offers excellent customer service.
How would you rate customer service and support?
Positive
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
We did not use a different solution.

The initial setup is very easy.
What about the implementation team?
I created and installed the solution myself.
