What is our primary use case?
We use the solution for project management for designers, marketing, and comms teams. It's used for collaborating on campaigns and big projects alongside monitoring day-to-day tasks. Our work environment is in fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) so we have a lot of fast turnaround projects for multiple brands.
Monday helps us manage and organize these efficiently while allowing for total transparency to other people in the business, so they can check the statuses of their projects and liaise with different teams accordingly on details or updates.
How has it helped my organization?
It's made our lives so much easier. Managing multiple projects with various deadlines, updates, people and costs has become a breeze with Monday.
We previously were using Excel and it was an absolute nightmare as it was so rigid, uncollaborative, and of course, didn't include anywhere near the number of features that Monday provides.
It has also allowed transparency within the business in regards to workloads, timelines, and time management and allows team members to check up on their projects without lots of emails flying around.
What is most valuable?
Timeline and countdown systems have been great for us as well as the ability to "@" team members in comment sections to have collaborative conversations, give feedback, and share files.
As a design team, we work very closely with the marketing team on bringing projects and ideas to life. It's great to have a system that allows us to do that fluidly and have visible conversations in case anyone further needs feedback or input at different stages on the project.
Monday provides great capacity for storing files, conversations, and seeing the history of a project.
What needs improvement?
It would be good to have a countdown timer to a deadline date so you could see 'days remaining' to work on a project to help schedule time, as currently it only shows the end date.
Also, a way to ensure sub-items in a project has a bit more visibility would be ideal, rather than being hidden in a drop-down.
It would be good as well to include some more interactive features within Monday, for example, for mood-boarding ideas and an easier way to live comment/feedback on files without having to leave multiple separate comments in the notes section.
