Great board functionality with helpful organization features and file upload capabilities
Pros and Cons
  • "The board function allows you to create a digitized to-do list."
  • "They have glitches every once in a while that will put employers in a position to not be able to use the platform."

What is our primary use case?

The solution is used to keep track of time and effort on my job. It is also used to keep track of company projects such as event planning, social media planning, and to-do lists for everyday tasks.

It's also a great way to stand up to an audit as we are funded by the US Department of Education. I find it to be very helpful in helping me see what my staff is up to on a daily basis and account for what was done and not done in the event of an issue with my boss. Our environment is very fast-paced and there is a lot to do all the time so Monday provides a quick solution.

How has it helped my organization?

It provides us with an easy way to keep up with company projects and keep track of what each employee is doing. It's an awesome tool for us as all supervisors are able to look at their employee's work and account for the time that was used with our boss.

It also does a great job with adding new features that have made our jobs easier such as giving us the option to upload files and pictures and it's super nice that they allow us to post gifs and bring a fun feel to our workspaces.

What is most valuable?

The board function allows you to create a digitized to-do list. My agency plans a lot of events - from college tours to large back to school events, to large community events. Being able to keep up with all the different moving parts and keeping it all In one once place is really helpful for me. There is no way I was able to pull off our back to school fest with over 500+ people if it had not been for being able to create a list of tasks and go through one by one and keep track of progress on each task in relation to that event.

What needs improvement?

They have glitches every once in a while that will put employers in a position to not be able to use the platform.

A few weeks ago, Monday.com wouldn't even come up, and on a normal day that poses a huge problem as we use this platform to ensure that employees are working on a daily basis.

When you're not able to do that, that is a problem. I had to tell employees to record their work through email and that just creates a bunch of extra steps as opposed to logging on to Monday. I do not like this as it happened more than once.

Great for storing files, conversations, and seeing the history of a project
Pros and Cons
  • "Timeline and countdown systems have been great for us as well as the ability to "@" team members in comment sections to have collaborative conversations, give feedback, and share files."
  • "It would be good to have a countdown timer to a deadline date so you could see 'days remaining' to work on a project to help schedule time, as currently it only shows the end date."

What is our primary use case?

We use the solution for project management for designers, marketing, and comms teams. It's used for collaborating on campaigns and big projects alongside monitoring day-to-day tasks. Our work environment is in fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) so we have a lot of fast turnaround projects for multiple brands.

Monday helps us manage and organize these efficiently while allowing for total transparency to other people in the business, so they can check the statuses of their projects and liaise with different teams accordingly on details or updates.

How has it helped my organization?

It's made our lives so much easier. Managing multiple projects with various deadlines, updates, people and costs has become a breeze with Monday.

We previously were using Excel and it was an absolute nightmare as it was so rigid, uncollaborative, and of course, didn't include anywhere near the number of features that Monday provides.

It has also allowed transparency within the business in regards to workloads, timelines, and time management and allows team members to check up on their projects without lots of emails flying around.

What is most valuable?

Timeline and countdown systems have been great for us as well as the ability to "@" team members in comment sections to have collaborative conversations, give feedback, and share files.

As a design team, we work very closely with the marketing team on bringing projects and ideas to life. It's great to have a system that allows us to do that fluidly and have visible conversations in case anyone further needs feedback or input at different stages on the project.

Monday provides great capacity for storing files, conversations, and seeing the history of a project.

What needs improvement?

It would be good to have a countdown timer to a deadline date so you could see 'days remaining' to work on a project to help schedule time, as currently it only shows the end date.

Also, a way to ensure sub-items in a project has a bit more visibility would be ideal, rather than being hidden in a drop-down.

It would be good as well to include some more interactive features within Monday, for example, for mood-boarding ideas and an easier way to live comment/feedback on files without having to leave multiple separate comments in the notes section.

For how long have I used the solution?

I've used the solution for two years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

The solution is very stable.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

For SMEs in particular, it's very scalable. It's great

How are customer service and support?

I have a rep and she's always been helpful. We don't need much support as the system is very straightforward.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Positive

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

No previous solution was there, other than Excel.

How was the initial setup?

The initial setup was easy and straightforward.

What about the implementation team?

We did the setup using an in-house team.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

The cost seems expensive, to begin with, however, it is well worth it if you utilize the system.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

We also looked at Trello.

Which deployment model are you using for this solution?

Great layout options, excellent project management capabilities, and a helpful deadline feature
Pros and Cons
  • "Using the deadline feature to manage priorities has been the most valuable."
  • "The ability to implement a timetabling functionality would be really useful for an education provider."

What is our primary use case?

As a provider of professional education, Monday.com is used within our environment to manage a program lifecycle, assign tasks to individuals, and manage the delivery of our products end-to-end. We use it for tracking workflow from individual programs, informing managers of capacity and availability within a team, and making live requests using the 'form' functionality for website changes (by way of example).

Monday.com provides a holistic oversight of all the activity required to complete a project from start to finish.

How has it helped my organization?

Used as a project management tool, our business is able to utilize the clear visual display provided by Monday.com to manage workloads, allocate tasks, and have a greater oversight of tasks within each program.

The ability to change the layout of each project to the form of a Gantt chart, kanban, table, and more allows for more accessibility within the same programme. Users are able to choose a view that they find most beneficial, without having an impact on the content visible for managers within the business.

What is most valuable?

Using the deadline feature to manage priorities has been the most valuable. Having a visual representation of the week and month ahead in the 'My work' category allows for improved organization and workflow planning. Being able to tag other colleagues to support with tasks and allocate jobs when members of the team are taking annual leave has also proved incredibly helpful. The tagged member of staff knows what the job required of them is, has a deadline allocated, and is able to receive further information using the comment feature - it saves lengthy handover documentation.

What needs improvement?

The ability to implement a timetabling functionality would be really useful for an education provider. Currently, dashboards can only be created with a small number of boards (20 I believe) which can limit the amount of information to view across multiple boards. We can implement more programs within one board, however, this is not always useful when programs need to be archived each sitting.

Easier reporting functionality or more regular training in this area would also be of great value to the business.

For how long have I used the solution?

I've been using the solution for one year.

How was the initial setup?

The solution's setup was straightforward and easy to navigate.

Great time tracking capabilities, helpful automation, and great update visibility
Pros and Cons
  • "The best feature for us would be the automation and how they can be set up to email, provide an update, and assign to different people all on different triggers."
  • "I would really like to see the reporting functionality updated."

What is our primary use case?

We use Monday.com in our business as our main and core business strategy tracking platform allowing our strategy to be put in place, assigned to the relevant departments/team members, and then updates provided through the platform. Monday allows for all of this to be put in one place and the constant changes within the system allow for us to constantly grow our business strategy and ensure core objectives are reached throughout the year.

We are an e-commerce-based business that has multiple brands.

How has it helped my organization?

The system has helped improve our organization through better objective tracking. This has allowed us to put in place our business strategy and departmental strategy all into one platform and assign it to relevant team members who have specialities within the area.

Using Monday has also allowed us to use the time tracking feature which allows us to ensure the workload of our team isn't too high therefore ensuring that objective are still reached within the timeframe.

What is most valuable?

The best feature for us would be the automation and how they can be set up to email, provide an update, and assign to different people all on different triggers. The possibilities surrounding the automation allows for the platform to run itself with very little manual work behind it for objectives which may have fallen overdue etc.

A further additional feature that is useful is the inbox which allows you to see all updates that have occurred throughout the company on a given day. This ensures you don't miss an important objective update.

What needs improvement?

I would really like to see the reporting functionality updated. Sometimes it feels as if the reports are too visual and lack the hardcore data behind it. If you could get reports all in one place that would then allows reporting across multiple workspaces and boards, this would be awesome.

Additionally, albeit small, being able to create smaller more custom automation would be beneficial and would allow for further enhancements to the system.

Overall, Monday is a good platform and the improvements suggested are minimal and would only support the positive experience.

For how long have I used the solution?

We have been using Monday.com for one year or more.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

We previously used Cascade (Executive Strategy).

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

The pricing structure is all very transparent.

Easy to upload, helps with communication and has great technical support
Pros and Cons
  • "The coolest thing is the way the files or documents can be uploaded to subitems."
  • "I do wish that admins could edit everything, no matter who created a post/board/subitems, etc."

What is our primary use case?

The solution has helped us with customer management as well as team communication. We rent commercial vehicles and it is imperative that my team be able to know what's going on. Monday.com allows our sales team to effectively follow each step of our closing process. It gives the team leaders a quick glance at what's happening without having to disturb the team. The organization of Monday.com allows the influx of data to be categorized effectively which results in less time spent searching for something. Money is time.

How has it helped my organization?

It's given us the ability to always know what is happening with our customers. It has allowed for more communication between team leaders and support staff. Questions can be asked and answered without having to interrupt. The flow of my office has improved tenfold since we started using Monday.com. It is a staple in every office. The organization of Monday.com allows the influx of data to be categorized effectively which results in less time spent searching for something.

What is most valuable?

The coolest thing is the way the files or documents can be uploaded to subitems. This allows all pertinent information to be readily available to whomever. If someone is out of the office I do not have to worry about locating a file/folder of a customer. All of the documents are right there at anyone's fingertips. With quick access to everything, leaders can quickly glance over and approve or deny closings and be able to step in when needed.

What needs improvement?

We thoroughly enjoy Monday.com and all of its features. Sometimes we did not know we needed feature until the feature was there - and then we are thinking "Where has this been all of our life!"

I do wish that admins could edit everything, no matter who created a post/board/subitems, etc. There are a few instances that we needed to edit customer info and had to recreated the data so that a new person could add/remove info that had changed over time.

Everything is great and we appreciate it.

For how long have I used the solution?

I've used the solution for almost three years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

It's stable. Any downtime is quickly fixed.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

I give it a ten out of ten for scalability.

Great file management, good board diversity, and allows clients to collaborate
Pros and Cons
  • "We can have different boards for different needs."
  • "Some boards are just buggy."

What is our primary use case?

We use the solution for company project management and projects project management. We are a marketing agency consisting of 25 people. We are using Monday to basically manage the whole company including HR, time tracking, project management, and personal management.

I use Monday to plan and manage my personal and work tasks. We use Monday to manage our teams and also to manage projects with our clients. Basically we would not be able to operate without Monday at current moment. All of our processes are currently build around Monday.com.

How has it helped my organization?

Our company switched to Monday four years ago and it changed our everyday lives. We are managing our HR processes, our client's projects, and our various teams via Monday and are extremely pleased with it.

The solution helps the most with effectiveness and has great overviews to visualize our team's work. Thanks to Monday, everyone in our organization can keep up to date with all the tasks being done and we are doing it extremely effectively. We have tried several other PM solutions before without luck. The best part is, it is a good fit for everyone in our company and this does not happen often.

What is most valuable?

The tablewise approach, file management, adjustability, ability to invite clients to collaborate are all valuable aspects of the solution.

We can have different boards for different needs. Each of our team has got its own board (design, copywriters, strategists, web developers) and they manage their workload there. Each project is using its own board and everything is interconnected.

We are using time-tracking on Monday which has changed the way we are working on projects and invoicing them. Also, unlimited storage within tasks is great thing to have as we are able to go back in history to find all materials that everyone worked on really easily.

What needs improvement?

Reliability has had issues these last few weeks. We noticed that the platform is down from time to time for several minutes.

Some boards are just buggy. For example, we are not able to see tracked times from other people and cannot add a new update. After contacting support they were unable to help. The problem is strangely happening on just one account and the only fix that we have found was to create a duplicate board where the problem looks fixed.

Other than reliability problems we are really happy with the solution itself.

For how long have I used the solution?

I've used the solution for four years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

It used to be stable, however, in the last few weeks we have noticed some problems with the reliability where the solution was down from time to time.

To understand the context, we have all tasks for each team set up within Monday. When we are planning a work for a team there is a meeting scheduled. When meeting starts and Monday is down, we can't really evaluate work or plan anything until it is back up. Also when a specialist is assigned a task in Monday, and Monday does not work they are unable to know what to work on. That happened several times in the last few weeks. It was not an issue before, the last two weeks or so seem okay again.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

I can't really answer as to if this solution is scalable.

How are customer service and support?

Technical support is all good.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Positive

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

We used to use Wrike, Trello, and Asana. None of them worked for everyone or for every team and for every task. On Monday we can adjust to everyone's needs.

How was the initial setup?

The initial setup was straightforward.

What about the implementation team?

We handled the setup in-house.

What was our ROI?

The ROI was immediate.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

New users should just go ahead and try it out. If you have been struggling in the past with PM solutions, you won't be anymore.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

We did not evaluate any other solutions.

Which deployment model are you using for this solution?

Great time tracking with customizable status labels and high availability
Pros and Cons
  • "The formula feature is amazing."
  • "It helped us a lot in content management issues for TikTok and YouTube, however, it would be good to have an integration for each social network to get all the data within a single platform."

What is our primary use case?

We use Monday.com for the administration of a marketing agency including clients, taxes, archives, integrations, ROI, and clasification of works. The best feature we use a lot is the sub elements for subdividing the work. It helps us to be more specific in our activities and that makes it so that the clients can audit our work. Our reputation is increasingly growing thanks to free partner access that gives our clients greater visibility of progress while growing your confidence in our work.

How has it helped my organization?

The organization has improved a lot thanks to Monday. This is due to all the functions it has. Information leaks have been avoided and there are better results in proper monitoring of the activities carried out real-time monitoring of staff, and complete records of conversations including suggested changes in the graphic design department.

In addition, thanks to its customizable structure, we have been able to concentrate much of our business within the app, making it easier to manage from anywhere and with all the people we need.

What is most valuable?

The most valuable functions for the agency are:

  • Time tracking
  • Customizable status labels
  • Last modification made by a user

The formula feature is amazing.

The biggest benefit has been that it facilitates the work of our designers and all staff members and thanks to its integrations, we no longer have to leave the application much.

The security is great and vulnerabilities do not exist in the entire app.

We love the high availability.

What needs improvement?

It helped us a lot in content management issues for TikTok and YouTube, however, it would be good to have an integration for each social network to get all the data within a single platform. The work analysis could be automated. It would be much more efficient and profitable for all professional content creators and the popularity of the application would rise to 400%.

For how long have I used the solution?

I've been using the solution for more than a year.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

The solution is super stable and the dependability is 100%.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

It's honestly the best application.

How are customer service and support?

Technical support could be better with live chat functionality.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Positive

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

We didn't use any solution previously.

How was the initial setup?

It was super easy to set up the account.

What about the implementation team?

I have implemented it personally as the CEO.

What was our ROI?

Our ROI is 50% and growing.

Easy to use with great time tracking and easy uploading
Pros and Cons
  • "My favorite feature is time tracking."
  • "If there was an option to print out a report per client that we have time-tracked, it would be really useful."

What is our primary use case?

My company uses Monday to keep track of tasks for every employee. We set up meetings and engage in active conversations about due dates and timelines being adhered to.

Monday is used for uploading critical documents which can be accessed by permitted co-workers. We use it to keep track of financial statement procedures. We are a financial and auditing firm, the website allows for multiple boards which we like to use per client. This website has truly helped us keep on board with all our clientele.

How has it helped my organization?

Monday is really easy to use. The website allows for unlimited boards and practically a virtual board. We mainly use it to keep track of financial statement procedures, that is, where exactly are the auditors along with the audit. We also use boards to maintain our clientele information, for example, usernames, passwords, emails, addresses, tax numbers, and company registration numbers, the possibilities are endless.

This website has truly helped us keep on board with all our clientele, literally.

What is most valuable?

My favorite feature is time tracking. It is extremely precise and useful. We also provide accounting services at the firm and it is so mundane to sit with a stopwatch every time we work on a client.

This feature helps us bill the clients for the exact hours and minutes. Some clients have a tough time believing the time spent on their company.

What needs improvement?

If there was an option to print out a report per client that we have time-tracked, it would be really useful. This way we can attach supporting documentation to our clients, with proof of the hours worked on for their company.

In respect of time tracking, the reports option would be of great help in implementing invoices to clients. As we provide many services to our clients, for example, tax submissions, vat submissions, company, and individual submissions. We also provide registrations and deregistrations of various elements in businesses. Trust is vital. We are able to print out reports to support our time spent on these companies and individuals. In addition to this feature, I would like for Monday to introduce personal chats, this will help communicate and address information to related persons.

I would also like for Monday to introduce more customizations to the columns, such as notify, approving, etc.

For how long have I used the solution?

I've used the solution for about a year.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

The app is definitely one of the most stable.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

The scale has great scope. This is used throughout my firm.

How are customer service and support?

I have not yet needed any support.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Neutral

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

I have used Monday only, and I absolutely love it.

How was the initial setup?

I'm not sure how easy or difficult the setup was.

What about the implementation team?

The setup was handled in-house.

What was our ROI?

The ROI can be found in great tracking, task allocation, and easy management.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

The price is totally worth it, however, the advertising could use some help.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

I did not evaluate other options.
