Synchronized work across locations with room for improved user-friendliness

What is our primary use case?

We use Office 365 for business generally. We deal with e-fax, and I was looking at the reviews because I am looking for something similar to Business Central. In my opinion, Business Central is the best that I've seen so far. However, it's not available in the Caribbean, and Business Central is not formatted for this region just yet, so we can't use it here.

What is most valuable?

Mainly, the ability to sync apps seamlessly around our team is valuable. It is a major advantage to work from anywhere, and the ability to sync is crucial for us. We can be anywhere, including home or work, and we can accomplish tasks with everything done in real time. All the apps are accessible. They can improve on the ease of use for each product. There is always a learning curve, and for apps like Excel, users have to go into training for optimal use. All of the apps should be more user-friendly.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using Office 365 for probably about seven or eight years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

The app is pretty slow on Android devices, even on Apple devices, so it is not very fast. It moves slowly, and when contacting support, they attribute it to a system problem, but everyone in the area has the same issue. Thus, it seems to be a Microsoft problem.

It is definitely scalable. I would probably give it a ten for scalability.

Neutral

The initial setup is not straightforward at all. It is complex. I would place it about a four on a scale, with one being the most difficult.

What was our ROI?

In terms of efficiency, Office 365 has definitely improved operations. However, we now have to devote time to learning the product to get the best out of it, which sort of eats into our time.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

The pricing for Office 365 is not bad, it's okay. While Business Central is quite expensive, the standard fees are pretty reasonable. I would probably give it an eight out of ten.

What other advice do I have?

I would recommend Office 365 to others as a productivity tool, though I have reservations due to the lack of user-friendliness. Overall, I would rate Office 365 about a seven out of ten.

Collaborative capabilities improve productivity and secure document sharing

What is our primary use case?

We utilize all the business features like sending emails with Outlook, receiving documents, and providing information with Word. We also handle smaller databases and export and calculate spreadsheets in Excel. Additionally, we use Microsoft Forms for surveys and Power Automate, Power Workflow, and Power Apps on the Microsoft 365 cloud.

What is most valuable?

One of the most valuable features of Office 365 is the collaboration capability. Multiple employees can work on the same document at the same time, which enhances productivity. This collaboration definitely impacts our efficiency positively and helps in secure document sharing and communication between companies.

What needs improvement?

I think it would be better if Office 365 enhanced communication about update policies. Providing the possibility to delay or skip updates would also be beneficial.

For how long have I used the solution?

We have been using Office 365 since 2015, considering our history before migrating to Inario. Our company itself has used it since May 2021. Overall, we have been using it for about nine years.

The deployment time varies depending on company size. For smaller companies, it takes a few hours, but with larger, multi-location companies, it can take two weeks or more due to the need for more configurations and security compliance.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

The stability of Office 365 is quite satisfactory. Occasionally, there are minor issues, but nothing very noticeable.

Scalability is straightforward. Licenses are purchased and allocated via Entra, and users are ready to go. Scaling is quite easy, and I would rate it a nine out of ten.

How was the initial setup?

The initial setup is quite easy for normal business use, which I would rate as a nine. However, on the administrative side, more time is needed to configure and check compliance.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

The pricing for Office 365 is reasonable, though slightly reducing the cost by ten percent would be welcome.

What other advice do I have?

The collaboration with other companies through Office 365 allows for secure document sharing and access to another company’s data once compliance is met and access is approved. The overall rating for Office 365 is nine out of ten.

Integration and security features enhance functionality, but issues with updates and customer service persist

What is our primary use case?

I use Office 365 primarily for emails. Additionally, I work with Windows and Office Suite, both local and online.

What is most valuable?

Office 365 has great possibilities for integration, such as single sign-on and the Azure part of it. From a security perspective, there are valuable features such as always-on VPN and Endpoint protection. Defender is included for free, and there are options to upgrade Windows with certain plans, like E3 and E5.

What needs improvement?

There are many issues with Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint, and Exchange, making it difficult to identify positive aspects. Exchange has issues such as malfunctioning in specific regions and some features not working for certain users. There are also problems with Windows updates occasionally being faulty. Although it's possible to work around mailbox limitations with an archive or shared mailbox, larger mailboxes would be preferable.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been working with Office 365 for more than ten years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

Windows has issues with faulty updates, affecting stability. There are often availability issues with Office products.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

Certain Office plans are limited based on the number of users. For instance, a plan that suited my needs could not be used because I have more than one thousand or two thousand users.

How are customer service and support?

I was not happy with the technical support, especially when my issue with DMARC was routed to the Indian support team, who could not resolve it after two and a half months. I requested it to be routed to German support, but it was not. I had happier experiences with the German support previously.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Neutral

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

I mentioned potential pricing and tax changes due to political actions like Donald Trump's ideas impacting the EU, which may result in price changes.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

Other than Office 365, I have worked with Linux. I have not worked directly with Google but have tried the free version of their similar product.

What other advice do I have?

It's essential to consider the user's knowledge when recommending an Office 365 plan. For example, recommending an E5 license to someone without administrative knowledge doesn't make sense. On a scale of 1 to 10, I would rate Office 365 as a seven.
