I use Office 365 for a variety of things including sending emails to customers and colleagues, creating PowerPoint presentations, using Excel, and using Access.

Good integration between products in the suite, and I can do my work from anywhere
Pros and Cons
- "I like that it is cloud-based, wherefrom any computer I can access my documents and continue working."
- "I would like to see the macro functionality in Excel made simpler."
What is our primary use case?
What is most valuable?
The most valuable feature is the integration, where all of the modules are talking to each other.
I like that it is cloud-based, wherefrom any computer I can access my documents and continue working. Even if my computer is down or something has happened to it, I can use another computer for work.
What needs improvement?
I would like to see the macro functionality in Excel made simpler.
Excel should be made more intelligent in terms of being able to figure out data types. For example, it should understand that if I have 16,000 records, it should know the datatype of each of the columns. There might be numbers, dates, and other types of data, and it should be able to recognize these based on context. If this were the case then it would make things easier for me.
I would like to see Azure artificial intelligence available in Office 365 so that it is available to everyone.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have been using Office 365 for the past three years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?
The stability is great. I have never faced any such issues. If I load too much into PowerPoint then it will slow down a little bit, but nothing like the old desktop version. When I was using the desktop version of Office, it would hang. The cloud version is far more stable.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
Office 365 is scalable, although collaboration has to happen through SharePoint. I would say that it can scale to large, global enterprises very easily.
How are customer service and support?
I have never spoken to technical support for Microsoft Office. I have never had a problem that needed it.
How was the initial setup?
The initial setup is easy because it's online. You pay for it and you get it, and that's it.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
I think that we pay $9.99 USD per user, monthly. There are yearly packages available.
What other advice do I have?
I would rate this solution a nine out of ten.

I primarily use Office 365 to develop user guides, prototypes, and set up documents.
What is most valuable?
Office 365 fulfills our basic requirements for developing documents and basic forms. It provides a lot of facilities and options, which are very helpful. I use it for document creation which saves a lot of time compared to other document creation tools.
What needs improvement?
I would like to see improvements in the Excel forms. The backend I wrote in Visual Basic could be improved.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have been using Office 365 since I joined this organization in 2020. I work on the desktop version of Office.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
I find Office 365 stable and have not experienced any stability or performance issues.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
I mostly use Office 365 for personal or simple tasks, so scalability has not been an issue.
How was the initial setup?
The initial setup of Office 365 on my personal PC was straightforward and user-friendly.
What other advice do I have?
I rate Office 365 an eight out of ten because it fulfills most of my requirements. I recommend it to others because it saves a lot of time, and one can manage data well with the options available in Microsoft Office.
Which deployment model are you using for this solution?
On-premises

Detects patient data, like a social security number, in email attachments and triggers an alert
Pros and Cons
- "The functionality that is most valuable is the solution's ability to detect patient data in email attachments. Whenever a user sends out an email with patient data embedded in an attachment, it triggers an alert. The tool can detect a social security number and various other forms of patient identity. Emails are then automatically generated and sent."
- "Improvements can be made to the products generic offering. It's not customized for health care. It doesn't understand the meaning of health care related concepts. Providing a greater degree of industry specificity would make the tool much more unique and valuable."
What is our primary use case?
We use this solution to detect if a user, physician, manager, or director have sent out their patient data.
What is most valuable?

What needs improvement?
Improvements can be made to the products generic offering. It's not customized for health care. It doesn't understand the meaning of health care related concepts. Providing a greater degree of industry specificity would make the tool much more unique and valuable.
I would like to see a more user-friendly interface in the next release. We worked with a developer to upgrade the settings and optimize the base functionality. If the UI was more intuitive, all the user would need to do is click through.
For how long have I used the solution?
Less than one year.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
It's a good solution and it's a stable solution.
We have a team of five engineers and software developers taking care of maintenance issues.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
It's scalable because it's a cloud solution. We haven't had any performance problem with it.
How was the initial setup?
The initial setup was straightforward. We followed the instructions. Since it's a cloud solution we just opened the administration tabs and created the rules as they apply to our operation. We created XML. We did have to build some code within the solution.
Deployment took a few months to fully implement the solution. The strategy we used was to test the solution within a test account first and after that, we deployed the products and we selected a subset of users to deploy it.
What other advice do I have?
The version we are using is very generic. It requires that you perform a lot of customizations.
I rate this product a 7 out of 10. I give it this rating because it works but it's not sophisticated enough and not specialized enough for health care. It requires a lot of time to customize.

Has been extremely reliable, stable, and deployment was simple
What is most valuable?
- Rapid deployment of Office functionality to users.
- Ability to enforce global policies.
- Security.
Monthly subscription per user provides flexibility and a significant number of capable apps to leverage corporate data.
How has it helped my organization?
We have found Office 365's many features and apps to be extremely useful, beyond the usual Word and Excel, which most people are used to using. We've made extensive use of SharePoint, OneDrive, Yammer, and so forth, and are exploring the other capabilities of Office 365.
What needs improvement?
Many of the compliance facilities, whilst available, require a bit of 'digging' around the back end of the admin/security facilities. It would be nice to have industry/regional templates which could be adopted and customized to help get compliance settings made more easily, especially for user organizations that face a lot of compliance issues.
For how long have I used the solution?
About two years now.
What was my experience with deployment of the solution?
No, deployment was very simple.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
No, so far Office 365 has been extremely reliable and stable.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
So far no issues encountered, we have scanned a lot of documents without any issues.
How are customer service and technical support?
Customer Service:
We worked with a Microsoft Partner and found the service to be excellent.
Technical Support:Very high.
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
We were using Office 2007 before the upgrade, with various licensing scattered across the business. Office 365 gave us a consistent platform that could be easily rolled out. Also, the ongoing updates to Office 365 help reduce the workload on keeping apps up-to-date, especially if the IT team is small.
How was the initial setup?
Initial setup was very straightforward.
What about the implementation team?
We worked through a Microsoft Partner who helped us get Office 365 deployed across our organization.
What was our ROI?
So far, substantial savings of approximately 30 to 40 percent vs the old licensing model. Also, as staff numbers fluctuate, it is possible to keep the number of subscriptions in alignment with headcount. Monthly subscriptions for each user make the solution extremely flexible.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
If you are a small business and/or have in-house technical capability, getting up and running with Office 365 is fairly simple. I suggest working with a good Microsoft Partner if the organization is large or disparate/distributed.
Which other solutions did I evaluate?
We spent a bit of time evaluating OpenOffice, LibreOffice, but Office 365 suited our particular needs very well. However, OpenOffice and LibreOffice are themselves good products and should be reviewed/considered for productivity applications. One of the main strengths of Office 365 is it runs on the Azure platform and has Microsoft behind it, which gives me a lot of confidence.
What other advice do I have?
We've been very happy with Office 365 so far. We're looking to see how else we can leverage the investment in Delve, Yammer, Forms, and other capabilities across the business.

Promotes collaboration and we can access our documents from anywhere
Pros and Cons
- "Using Office 365 has allowed us to go digital and onboard people seamlessly for working at home during the COVID pandemic."
- "Integration with other platforms can be improved."
What is our primary use case?
Our primary use is for document management.
We use Sharepoint for managing documents, Teams for collaboration, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook for email management. We also use the document creator for creating internal surveys.
How has it helped my organization?
Using Office 365 has allowed us to go digital and onboard people seamlessly for working at home during the COVID pandemic.
What is most valuable?
The most valuable feature is that we can access our documents from anywhere. If we aren't using our official laptops, we can still go online to work. I think it helps a lot.
What needs improvement?
Integration with other platforms can be improved. As it is now, it works really well with Azure and other products from Microsoft. However, if you want to integrate something outside of this, especially with Excel, it gives us challenges. There are a lot of use cases in Excel where we want to integrate with other services.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have been using Office 365 for the past couple of years.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
I think that Office 365 is pretty stable. We are using it pretty extensively and I have not encountered any major issues.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
I'm pretty sure that this platform is very scalable because now, almost everybody is working from home and using it. We have between 1,500 and 1,600 users who are scattered across geography. Approximately 1,300 are in India and the remainder is spread across the US.
How are customer service and technical support?
I do not deal with technical support personally, although because we haven't had any major issues, I think that our interaction with them has been smooth.
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
Prior to using Office 365, we were using the on-premises version.
How was the initial setup?
I would not say that the initial setup is complex. Rather, it is of medium difficulty, somewhere between straightforward and complex.
Once we decided to use Office 365, we were able to onboard people seamlessly. We were able to quickly start working with Team, Skype, and other products.
What about the implementation team?
Our internal IT team took charge of the implementation and deployment. They were able to complete it without assistance. The deployment is now fairly automatic for new people and there is very little time spent on maintenance.
What other advice do I have?
In summary, the features are really good, it has made our lives easy, and I highly recommend it.
I would rate this solution a nine out of ten.
Which deployment model are you using for this solution?
Public Cloud
If public cloud, private cloud, or hybrid cloud, which cloud provider do you use?
Microsoft Azure

Robust collaboration features improve document sharing and enhance productivity but integrating live collaboration could enhance efficiency
What is our primary use case?
I use Office 365 to make PowerPoint presentations, Microsoft Word to put together memos, and Excel for building financial models.
What is most valuable?
The most valuable features with Office 365 are Excel's robustness around financial modeling, which is super helpful for my job.
Office 365 brings a very strong return on investment through time savings and different efficiencies. We would never cut it as it is table stakes - it is necessary to operate in our world. The biggest KPI is functionality, specifically the ability to execute the work that needs to be done.
What needs improvement?
Office 365 could be improved in areas such as their collaboration functionality. I have used it before, but being able to work on documents in a cloud-connected manner with co-workers simultaneously would be super helpful. This feature is not available in the version we have.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have approximately 15 years of experience with Office 365.
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
We haven't used a different collaboration tool before this; we've always had Microsoft. We currently have both Microsoft and Google Suite.
Some main differences between Microsoft and Google Suite are that Google is cloud native, enabling collaboration with people working on documents simultaneously. Google Sheets, compared to Excel, is not as robust. You sacrifice some robustness for sharing functionality. The same applies to PowerPoint versus Google Slides, where PowerPoint is much more powerful. The ability to work with others in a cloud native product is the selling point for Google Suite and represents a real benefit.
What other advice do I have?
I would recommend Office 365 to other businesses due to its robustness and functionality.
We haven't been using AI in Office 365 for document management or data analysis because we don't have Copilot, which is their AI feature. It hasn't been integrated into our work.

At times, Office 365 closes and restarts by itself.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have been working with Office 365 for the last seven to eight months.
What was my experience with deployment of the solution?
I faced challenges during deployment. The authentication process was problematic, especially due to network restrictions in some areas, impacting mobile authentication. Additionally, migrating emails from Lotus and loading archives was time-consuming. Overall, the deployment took nearly a week for many users.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
The stability of Office 365 is mostly fine, but sometimes it closes and restarts unexpectedly.
How are customer service and support?
Microsoft support is generally good, but there were one or two instances where issues took longer to resolve.
How would you rate customer service and support?
Neutral

I do not handle the pricing, setup cost, or licensing, so I cannot provide information on this.
What other advice do I have?

Transitions to advanced email increases productivity by offering more space for communication and document management
What is our primary use case?
I use Office 365 for communication, specifically for sending emails. I also use SharePoint for official documents, internal communication, and a combination of private and public SharePoint for Teams use. Additionally, I use OneDrive.
What is most valuable?
I primarily use Office 365 for email and SharePoint. The email capabilities are very handy to use, with no hidden options, allowing me to use them efficiently at any moment. Since transitioning from a simple, normal Outlook to Office 365, there has been an increase in productivity due to the larger amount of space available to handle emails without needing to delete older ones.
What needs improvement?
From my side, I don't see any improvement needed in Office 365. However, there should be more integration of Copilot.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have been using Office 365 for more than three years continuously.
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
Before, we were using just a simple, normal Outlook. The switch to Office 365 has increased our productivity, primarily due to the larger amount of space available for emails.
What other advice do I have?
Everything is going well. On a scale from one to ten, I would rate Office 365 a ten. I would rate the overall product a ten.
