What needs improvement?

There is no specific area of Office 365 that needs improvement as of now, but it sometimes becomes difficult to find the latest used files. The search functionalities could be improved. We have been using Office 365 for approximately four years. It was a rollout in phases, so it has been a while since its adoption.

Compatibility across organizations facilitates seamless communication and efficient management
    Pros and Cons
    • "The most beneficial aspect of Office 365 for me is its compatibility across companies, ensuring seamless communication and collaboration because the majority of people use the product."
    • "The most beneficial aspect of Office 365 for me is its compatibility across companies, ensuring seamless communication and collaboration because the majority of people use the product."
    • "The pricing is not very reasonable as it could benefit from being more flexible."

What is our primary use case?

I use Office 365 as a productivity tool for correspondence, presentations, spreadsheets, and reporting. My team individually utilizes different functionalities depending on their tasks, such as writing correspondence, emails, reports, and doing calculations and spreadsheets.

    What is most valuable?

The most beneficial aspect of Office 365 for me is its compatibility across companies, ensuring seamless communication and collaboration because the majority of people use the product. While there may not be anything exceptionally special about it, its widespread use makes it necessary. Furthermore, the ease of managing subscriptions allows flexibility in handling workforce changes, such as reducing the number of subscriptions when headcount is lowered, enabling easier management.

    What needs improvement?

I cannot think of any specific features or functionality that needs improvement off the top of my head. Nowadays, the initial setup is much simpler compared to decades ago, though the backend and admin of Office 365 can be daunting. The frequent changes to module names like SharePoint and Exchange Plus can be tough as they make familiar features look different.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using Office 365 for more than fifteen to twenty years.

What was my experience with deployment of the solution?

The initial setup of Office 365 is much simpler nowadays compared to previous decades.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

I have not faced any serious performance or reliability issues with Office 365. Even without an internet connection, I can still work with the tools, except for Outlook, which cannot send emails. Overall, there is no problem.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

There have been no limitations or scalability issues with Office 365. If there is any increase, I just subscribe to additional licenses.

How are customer service and support?

I seldom consult Microsoft tech support because it is not clearly stated where support is available, or whether it is free or chargeable. Hence, I generally talk to our vendors for assistance. The issues are not major since Office 365 is primarily a productivity tool.

How would you rate customer service and support?

    Neutral

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

I started with Google but found it difficult to keep track of both platforms. I moved to a subscription-based model with Office 365 for a single platform to settle everything.

    How was the initial setup?

The initial setup is much simpler nowadays compared to the past decades.

    What was our ROI?

The flexibility offered by the subscription model enables cost savings when reducing the headcount, as I can easily manage the licenses online. This flexibility is advantageous compared to the traditional way of managing software versions.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

The pricing is not very reasonable as it could benefit from being more flexible. Sometimes I want specific features that are only available at the next level of subscription, targeting companies with a few hundred or thousand users when those features should be more widely available.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

I evaluated Google before switching and found synchronizing email between Outlook and Gmail difficult at first. Early on, Office 365 had just started with cloud services and Gmail was more established.

What other advice do I have?

I would recommend Office 365 because for an environment of our size, there is not much choice. Handling multiple platforms would be a nightmare for us. For a smaller company with just a few employees, Google could work, but for us, having a single platform is preferable. I rate Office 365 around eight or nine out of ten.

Which deployment model are you using for this solution?

    Public Cloud

      • "Office 365 has significantly enhanced collaboration and productivity through integrated tools like Teams, Excel, and Power BI."
      • "Office 365 has significantly enhanced collaboration and productivity through integrated tools like Teams, Excel, and Power BI."

What is our primary use case?

Office 365 is used primarily for document management, reporting, and cross-functional collaboration. While our current data volumes are manageable, we complement Office 365 with Power BI for reporting and Azure Data Factory for data processing tasks. These tools help us analyze trends across projects, resources, and operations.

Team collaboration is streamlined using Microsoft Teams and SharePoint. We co-author reports in Excel, integrate links through platforms like Jira, and share updates instantly. This real-time collaboration accelerates feedback loops and reduces delays in communication and delivery.

How has it helped my organization?

Office 365 has significantly enhanced collaboration and productivity through integrated tools like Teams, Excel, and Power BI. The cloud-based setup has also improved data accessibility and sharing efficiency across departments.

        What is most valuable?

Seamless Cloud Integration: Eliminates the need for VM-based transformation environments, particularly when paired with Azure Data Factory.

Real-Time Collaboration: Teams and SharePoint enable efficient document sharing and co-authoring.

Power BI: Offers strong visualization and reporting capabilities.

Overall ROI: We’ve seen notable value in terms of productivity and operational efficiency.

        What needs improvement?

A key enhancement would be integrating AI-based prompting directly within Microsoft Word or Office apps. The ability to generate structured content using AI prompts would save time and improve document creation workflows.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using Office 365 for about one and a half years. Our organization recently migrated to it from an on-premises Microsoft setup.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

The platform has been reliable. A rare instance of downtime was resolved by Microsoft support within a few hours.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

Office 365 handles our current needs well. For larger datasets or transactional systems, integration with platforms like Azure Data Lake would be more suitable.

How are customer service and support?

Our experience with Microsoft support has been positive. Issues were addressed quickly and effectively.

How would you rate customer service and support?

        Positive

We previously used on-premises Microsoft tools before migrating to Office 365 for a cloud-based experience.

        How was the initial setup?

Our migration from on-premises to Office 365 was smooth and straightforward.

        What about the implementation team?

Office 365 is managed internally by our organization under an enterprise licensing agreement.

        What was our ROI?

Office 365 delivers strong value in terms of both cost and productivity gains.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

Licensing and pricing are handled by our admin team, and the details are not directly visible to us.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

Experience has improved productivity but login issues persist
        Pros and Cons
        • "It includes Office 365 applications such as Excel, Outlook, and Word."
        • "It includes Office 365 applications such as Excel, Outlook, and Word."
        • "It is a pain to use, to be honest."

What is our primary use case?

They have replaced all my normal software with this stuff, and it is what I have to use because I do not set up my computer as IT people do it. It includes Office 365 applications such as Excel, Outlook, and Word.

        What is most valuable?

        They are basically identical.

I could not really say; it is just a system that delivers Excel and Outlook for me, so I had it before, and I have it now. It is just packaged differently; I do not see a difference in terms of that question.

        They work sufficiently.

I suppose so; I do not think there are any alternatives. It is a monopoly.

        What needs improvement?

It is a pain to use, to be honest.

Always having to log in repeatedly multiple times during the week is frustrating. Not being sure how it is connected to the cloud remains a gray zone.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using it for a couple of years now.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

It is stable, but something is using up a lot of RAM and CPU percentage, so it is slower than it used to be.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

I just use my internal people.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

I use Google sheets for personal use.

I know Office 365 Excel has functionality, but Google sheets works a bit quicker running on my machine, though my spreadsheets on that system were a bit more simple, so that might be a factor.

What other advice do I have?

        I use Polarion.

I have not used it much in the last year.

I have no idea about the installation as it just appears on my computer.

I am just a single user.

The organization has at least 30,000 users.

This review rates Office 365 as six out of ten.

Excel and Word facilitate efficient data analytics and cleansing in the banking sector
        Pros and Cons
        • "Office 365 applications are indispensable for data cleansing, data collection, and analytics, with Excel acting as the primary system for formulas, data extraction, and data cleansing across various sectors in Egypt, including banking and real estate."
        • "Office 365 applications are indispensable for data cleansing, data collection, and analytics, with Excel acting as the primary system for formulas, data extraction, and data cleansing across various sectors in Egypt, including banking and real estate."
        • "Office 365 experiences several performance issues, particularly in Excel and Word, including lagging and delays."

What is our primary use case?

I work with Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, essentially all applications within Microsoft solutions. These are crucial for data cleansing, data collection, and data analytics in our company, specifically in the banking sector.

        What is most valuable?

Office 365 applications are indispensable for data cleansing, data collection, and analytics. Excel is the main application on every computer at our company, acting as the primary system for formulas, data extraction, and data cleansing across various sectors in Egypt, including banking and real estate. The macro system in Excel allows for creating local applications that assist in processes without incurring additional costs. Moreover, AI integration helps automate formula writing, saving time and enhancing productivity.

        What needs improvement?

Office 365 should be able to handle larger datasets for cleansing, similar to SQL capabilities. Excel can presently only collect around ten thousand columns of data, which is limiting. Performance enhancements in Excel and Word are necessary as they sometimes experience lagging and delays.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been working with Office 365 for more than ten years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

Office 365 experiences several performance issues, particularly in Excel and Word, including lagging and delays.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

When we need to scale it up or down, Office 365 is found to be scalable without any limitations. It supports around three thousand users across our company.

How are customer service and support?

We escalate our questions or problems within the IT department, and they take action.

How would you rate customer service and support?

        Positive

        How was the initial setup?

The initial setup of Office 365 is very straightforward and easy to manage.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

The cost of licensing Office 365 is reasonable. The only issue we face is related to the devaluation of the Egyptian pound, not the pricing of Office 365 itself.

What other advice do I have?

I would recommend Office 365 to others, but I believe it is already widely used. I rate the solution nine out of ten.

Which deployment model are you using for this solution?

Integration of advanced features enhances productivity for enterprise users
        Pros and Cons
        • "The recent Microsoft 365 integration with Copilot is certainly very useful and effective, specifically for enterprise customers as it provides more than a 5x boost to productivity."
        • "The recent Microsoft 365 integration with Copilot is certainly very useful and effective, specifically for enterprise customers as it provides more than a 5x boost to productivity."
        • "Pricing is the major concern because certain features are also part of some free suites that people are used to using in their daily life, which drives the demand for Office 365."

What is our primary use case?

Regarding the use cases for the product, it is used for all documentation purposes and computation purposes.

The complete Office 365 suite is used, and we have recently started using it for designing purposes because Microsoft Designer has launched. It is a great product to have. We also use it for Project Management.

        What is most valuable?

The recent Microsoft 365 integration with Copilot is certainly very useful and effective, specifically for enterprise customers as it provides more than a 5x boost to productivity.

Within this suite, Microsoft Teams is another component that plays a big role. The way Copilot has been integrated into all the suites of the product, including Office suite and collaboration suite, creates a very effective combination that is being productively used within organizations and enterprises.

        What needs improvement?

There is room for improvement to make Office 365 more affordable.

Pricing is the major concern because certain features are also part of some free suites that people are used to using in their daily life, which drives the demand for Office 365. If it would be commercially more viable and affordable for smaller and medium-sized enterprises, their suite would be one of the best suites.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been working with Windows for 35 years, which is the same period with Office 365.

What was my experience with deployment of the solution?

The installation is quite easy, rating it 10 out of 10.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

        The solution is quite stable.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

Since it is on-premises, the solution is one of the best and easiest ones, requiring minimal resources for management.

How are customer service and support?

Support for Office 365 deserves nine points out of ten. The support is almost amazing.

How would you rate customer service and support?

        Positive

        What was our ROI?

From a productivity perspective, it is certainly saving time, but it is not saving money as similar work can be done with other Office suites available outside.

Regarding percentages and calculating ROI, it is difficult to provide specific figures.

What other advice do I have?

To manage and maintain Office 365, deployment depends on the use cases. The complete suite is not needed on every endpoint.

For example, the Project Management suite is necessary only for PMO team members. Otherwise, just the Office suite is sufficient if they are not looking for the Designer component.

The integration with Copilot is a good example of AI integration. It would be beneficial to have open options to use any kind of AI that is available, apart from only being tightly integrated with Microsoft.

The Office suite can be integrated with many applications.

On a scale of one to ten, this solution deserves a rating of nine.
