Ruckus Wireless Reviews

I am a Ruckus reseller and this wireless product is one that we provide for our customers.

My customers are all in industrial environments, so I have worked with a lot of different controller-based models. I primarily handle warehouse management and manufacturing, so these are installed in big warehouses, the oil sector, solar-powered Wi-Fi, and other businesses.

Many of the wireless devices are by vendors like Honeywell and Zebra. They are handheld units and the network packet size is small.

The most valuable feature is the coverage, which is exceptional.

I feel that the vendor needs to have better control of who is selling the product online, especially when the reseller doesn't know anything about the product. It is frustrating when customers tell me that they have found it on Amazon for a cheaper price.

I would like to see newer on-premises controller-type models, similar to the 3000. 

We have been working with Ruckus Wireless for about nine years, since 2011. I have about 24 years of experience with wireless solutions in general.

I haven't had any issues with maintenance, long-term. They have never had any trouble holding up in the environment that they're in.

The scalability of Ruckus is excellent. I have some very, very large customers.

I have experience working with Cisco, Aruba, and other types of Wi-Fi that my customers have installed.

For somebody who knows what they're doing, the initial setup is very straightforward.

Sometimes, people take an easy approach to implementing the system, but it is not as efficient as it could be. Generally, I find that you can put it in the easy way or the right way, and you need to have a little more skill than just plugging it in to get it working efficiently.

My advice for anybody who is considering this solution is not to become obsessed with bandwidth or throughput. It is more important to look at coverage and roaming capabilities than simply the bandwidth. I find that when it comes to schools, people who are implementing wireless usually overdo it.

For me, this is the best wireless product on the market. Every customer where I have put it in to replace an existing system loves it.

I am an independent contractor and I work to set up and maintain wireless network systems. Ruckus Wireless is one of the solutions that I rely on.

I am working with a small school that has a Ruckus wireless system in place to provide service for mobile devices. In that site, we have the main controller and six or seven access points.

The most valuable feature for me is reliability. It works. 

I have had trouble with signal strength and coverage in the school setting, which is in part due to the construction. I have an access point in the hallway and in every classroom.

Having support available that is more compatible with time zones in the United States would be helpful.

I have been using Ruckus wireless for about five years.

I haven't had any issues with the stability of the signal. It either makes the connection or it doesn't.

It is sometimes difficult to reach technical support when you need it. For example, recently I was able to get through to somebody rather quickly when I had to repair a wireless system that had gone down. At other times, it will be five or six hours before somebody returns my call. This can be a problem when I am already at a client site because I can't sit there and charge the client while I was for Ruckus to call me back. However, I have also had the same experience with Cisco.

Quality-wise, the person that I recently dealt with in regards to an RMA was outstanding.

The initial setup is pretty straightforward. Getting improved coverage is often just a matter of moving the devices around.

The school is at a point where they either have to expand their Ruckus system or instead replace it entirely with one from Cisco. However, given the money that they've got invested in Ruckess equipment, I don't know that replacing it is a prudent choice.

In summary, I think that Ruckus is a good product. I'm a fan and I recommend them.

We use Ruckus Wireless for hospitality customers, education customers, healthcare customers, banking customers, and public venues.

Ruckus Wireless has a high ROI because it needs fewer access points due to BeamFlex technology, which means less civil work, less cabling, and less licensing. This significantly impacts the total cost of ownership of the project, making it very attractive for investors and increasing the ROI.

The most valuable feature of Ruckus Wireless is the simple interface of the SmartZone platform. This platform is very effective and easy to manage. It does not require experienced employees or IT managers to handle the system. BeamFlex is a part of every Ruckus AP, making it a leader in coverage area compared to other vendors.

The cloud solution is not mature enough.

We have been using Ruckus Wireless for more than twelve years.

The stability of the Ruckus Wireless solution is rated very high.

The solution is very scalable. It works well in very dense environments and provides good coverage.

Customer service and support are somewhat lacking. Sometimes the technical support team is not experienced enough to handle cases effectively. They tend to go in loops when fixing problems and often miss asking crucial questions that could make troubleshooting more efficient. It feels like the support is being outsourced to someone else who is not fully aware of the product.

Ruckus Wireless is not cheap, and they have recently increased their prices. However, the product is worth it.

I would recommend Ruckus Wireless to others because it provides stable solutions. The wireless access points are very stable, provide good coverage in dense environments, and have many reasons to be recommended.

We use the solution for our wireless network services.

The solution manages and updates itself.

The price has room for improvement.

I give Ruckus Wireless's stability a ten out of ten.

I give Ruckus Wireless's scalability a ten out of ten. We can install 100 APs before installing more, which is enough for a small business.

We also use MikroTik as a cheaper option for customers that can't afford Ruckus. 

Configuring MikroTik is more complex compared to Ruckus, where we only need to create an SSID, and the rest is automatically handled in the background.

The initial setup is straightforward. I give the setup a ten out of ten. The deployment takes up to 15 minutes to complete.

The implementation was completed in-house.

The price is high and I give the price a four out of ten.

The solution is for small and medium clients.

For customers that can afford Ruckus, it is a great product and I recommend it.

Our use case is for public Wifi. I'm a system integrator. 

The product is easy to configure and user-friendly. The technology is very robust. 

I'd like to see some analytics features in the control itself. 

I've been using this solution for 10 years. 

The solution is stable. 

The solution is scalable. If one controller is not sufficient, you can add another.

We have access to technical support and they are generally quite good.

The initial setup was very easy, it's just a matter of configuring the access point. 
It's recognized by the controller, and when you onboard it on the wireless network everything is done automatically. One access point takes about 10 minutes to deploy. Other than for the software, there is no maintenance required. 

Licensing costs are reasonable and we can pay extra for additional support. 

I highly recommend this solution and rate it nine out of 10. 

Ruckus is very useful with hospitality. Actually, it's unique when it comes to hospitality and education, and high-use environments.

The solution is very easy to use. 

The stability is great. It's a very stable product and is very good at hospitality integration. The cloud path solution for education is very helpful. When it comes to onboarding students and employees to the system, it's easy.

The product can scale. 

Support is helpful. 

Users get a good ROI. 

The development time is slow. It takes a very long time to get new features. That said, when upgrades do come, it's quite stable. It would be nice, however, to get more frequent updates. 

The cloud system from Ruckus is not mature enough just yet. They need a better cloud controller. 

I've been using the solution for about 12 years. 

The solution is very stable and reliable. There are no bugs or glitches, and it doesn't crash or freeze. 

The scalability is great. I'd rate it nine out of ten in terms of the ability to expand as needed. 

We have more than 40 clients using the product right now. 

Technical support is quite helpful. They keep track of tickets quite well.

The deployments are fast. It takes a maximum of one hour to deploy an on-premises version and less than 30 minutes if you are deploying to the cloud. 

You only need one or two people to manage the deployment and maintenance of the solution. The implementation typically requires a network engineer. 

We are a systems integrator. We are able to deploy the solution easily ourselves. 

We've seen a very good ROI. I'd rate the ability to achieve ROI nine out of ten. 

On-premises deployments have perpetual licensing. Cloud licenses offer a yearly subscription.

We can use on-premises and cloud deployments. 

I'd recommend the solution to others, however, it depends on the size of the network. They have multiple models of access points and switches, so whether this product would be ideal or not depends on the sizing.

Overall, I would rate the solution eight out of ten. 

We use Ruckus Wireless for wireless network connectivity in a hotel.

I have been using Ruckus Wireless for approximately five months.

Ruckus Wireless is a reliable solution.

The scalability of Ruckus Wireless is good.

There are approximately 500 users using the solution.

I have not contacted the technical support from Ruckus Wireless.

The initial setup is straightforward, it did not take very long to do. All you need to do is plug it in.

The price of Ruckus Wireless could be better. I have heard it is more expensive than other solutions.

I rate Ruckus Wireless a nine out of ten.

We recently proposed a Ruckus solution using Cisco switches, in our local area. We have a local network for Cisco switches that we can help implement, as well as wireless connectivity that we are proposing. For a better wifi experience, we proposed a Ruckus solution.

It has great features. 

It also has cloud connectivity. All IPs can be managed and monitored by the customer from a single console. They will also manage and share the various regions' IPs and locations all over the world. However, a single console can be monitored and managed from anywhere in the world.

We would like to see a better licensing model for our customers.

We have been providing Ruckus Wireless for a couple of months.

Ruckus Wireless is scalable.

We have three or four clients who currently use Ruckus Wireless.

Technical support is fine.

We also provide Cisco Catalyst Switches, and Alcatel switches for customers. We are gold partners with Alcatel which is why we work with Alcatel products such as PBX, network switches, and WiFi.

The installation is straightforward.

I can take a week to install.

Commercially Ruckus for its features, its pricing is expensive for the customer. Customers go back and forth with the pricing, but we convince them that it is beneficial to include features.

Licensing is subscription-based.

This solution is provided by a team of three engineers at the upper and management levels.

I would recommend this solution to others who are interested in using it.
