The features that I like best with Microsoft 365 Business are that the files are available offline. When I start Confluence, when I'm on the go, let's say on the plane, I can still modify my files and then when I get to coverage they are synchronized with the cloud. That makes it really strong. Then of course there is the Office support. You need to buy Office products anyway these days and it's actually coming in a bundle.
Managing Partner at a consultancy with 1-10 employees
Working offline is as easy as working online
Pros and Cons
- "The features that I like best with Microsoft 365 Business are that the files are available offline."
- "In terms of what could be improved, they are continuously developing it, but sometimes not necessarily in a good direction. There are changes happening every three months so you actually have to learn some tools again. I'll give you an example. Teams used to be really good and now, I have a feeling that they hired developers from Skype Business because it's actually not very good."

What needs improvement?
In terms of what could be improved, they are continuously developing it, but sometimes not necessarily in a good direction. There are changes happening every three months so you actually have to learn some tools again. I'll give you an example. Teams used to be really good and now, I have a feeling that they hired developers from Skype Business because it's actually not very good.
The same with some other tools which are actually being developed, then all of a sudden they are not as good. For example, OneNote. OneNote is a really good tool or used to be a good tool, but now nowadays, it is a bit like Confluence and other corporate tools. I cannot tag anybody. If I make a note in OneNote, I have to send them an email with the link otherwise nobody will actually check it.
There is room for improvement.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have been using Microsoft 365 Business for about six years.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
It is license-based. You can buy one license and you can buy 10 licenses and it still works very well, even if there is a new colleague coming on.
It literally takes 10 minutes to get a new license.

How was the initial setup?
The initial setup is really easy.
The whole architecture is really simple. Since 365 offers these AD login, the globalized login, setting up Windows and Office 365 takes about half an hour.
I'm actually using a Mac book now for the last two or three months, and that is not complicated either.
What other advice do I have?
On a scale of one to ten, I would rate Microsoft 365 Business somewhere between seven or eight. Let's put it at an eight.
I would recommend Microsoft 365 Business. I would tell people that when they first set it up, I mean the very initial set up, not for the laptop but for the company's set up, they should be clever when choosing the name of the company inside the ecosystem because it seems that when our IT guys chose the name they made a mistake. After the company name they put the company's address, the previous address, and now it stays there forever. So the main SharePoint or the main link to the company's website, still has the company's old address in its name. That's actually stupid, but otherwise I would recommend it.

Cyber Security Consultant at Ukroboronprom
Scales well with a good set of applications included but needs better training
Pros and Cons
- "We've found the stability to be very good."
- "It's very good that it's an all-in-one solution with many Microsoft applications bundled within it."
- "It would be ideal if they could improve the cybersecurity of the endpoints, and to provide pictures of new zero-days cybersecurity threats as soon as possible."
What is our primary use case?
The product has multiple use cases. We have solutions for installing endpoint remote work. We have solutions for ERM, ADF systems, and we have systems for cybersecurity.
What is most valuable?
It's a good solution for enterprise-level organizations.
Microsoft is a very trusted brand.
It's very good that it's an all-in-one solution with many Microsoft applications bundled within it.
It has great tools built in that offer protection of our information.
The product scales well.
We've found the stability to be very good.
What needs improvement?
It would be good, for example, if the solution offered some programs within the solution that could provide training the personnel to use the product.
It would be ideal if they could improve the cybersecurity of the endpoints, and provide pictures of new zero-days cybersecurity threats as soon as possible.
For how long have I used the solution?
We've been using the solution for two years or so. It's been a while. We got it with our official licenses from Microsoft Business Solution.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
The stability of the solution is very good. There are no bugs or glitches. It doesn't crash or freeze. It doesn't give us any trouble. Its performance is reliable.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
The scalability is very good. It's great for enterprises and a company can expand it to meet its needs.
We currently have 300 users on the solution right now.
We do have a plan to increase the usage. We want to, in fact, digitalize and transform our corporation, and improve our IT infrastructure, and therefore we have a plan for future growth.
How are customer service and technical support?
We've been very pleased with technical support overall. They are quite helpful and responsive.
How was the initial setup?
The installation of the solution takes between two and four hours. It's pretty straightforward and doesn't take too long.
What other advice do I have?
I'd rate the solution at a seven out of ten. There are some improvements that could still make it a better product.
That said, I'd recommend the product. Microsoft in Ukraine has a very good CLA, and second-line support is also very good. I'd recommend it to our counterparts and our partners.
Which deployment model are you using for this solution?
Hybrid Cloud

Telephony manager at Allied Global
Great video conferencing feature; SharePoint is a great collaboration tool
Pros and Cons
- "Valuable features are video conferencing, email, and Office suite."
- "Employees are working from home and this solution has enabled us to continue functioning."
- "Video feeds cannot be disabled which is a distraction during video conferencing."
- "The product lacks features and is quite expensive so I rate this solution a nine out of 10."
What is our primary use case?
I work for a contact center in Guatemala and this is a contact center platform. We use the 365 tools for our daily operations including email and back office tools. We're customers of Microsoft and I'm the telephony manager.
What is most valuable?
Videoconferencing using teams allowed us to keep our meeting cadence during the transition to working from home. SharePoint allowed us to keep sharing content for mobile and work from home users without breaking the company security protocols.
We completed the transition to Microsoft outlook company wide Data leak prevention policy templates added the additional security required for WFH.
What needs improvement?
We have 5,000 employees and 75% are working from home. It's very stressful when you're video conferencing and you can't disable your own video feeds. I'm always having to look at myself during a conference call. One of our consultants suggested disabling our own self video feed to reduce the stress during a long conference call. It's something small but it bothered everybody.
The other issue is when you want to connect the publicly accessible telephone network to Teams, it requires a paid service and additional models and hardware. If I invite you to a Teams session, you need to have Teams installed. It requires a specific phone connection and for you to have a phone in order to dial into the conference switch. Zoom has a pool of telephone lines already included in the base service and you can just call up the conference number without needing to install anything. That's not the case with Microsoft.
For how long have I used the solution?
I've been using this solution for three years.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
The tool works, but we have had a couple of blackouts. It was a global problem where the entire platform started behaving badly. The more you rely on the tool, the bigger the concern is for a cloud platform, but so far so good. We had a couple of issues, but that was worldwide. Of the 5,000 people in the company, probably half of them are users.
We have three people in the company responsible for setup and the actual migration, and they deal with upkeep and any problems. We'll increase use for everybody because we're continuing to work from home and this is going to be the defacto communication tool for our working from home agents.
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
We previously used Google but moved to Microsoft.
How was the initial setup?
The initial setup was straightforward. We did it ourselves and we paid for gold support, so we just raised a couple of questions, but it was pretty straightforward. Implementation took about one month.
What was our ROI?
Employees are working from home and this solution has enabled us to continue functioning.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
Licensing is on an annual basis.
What other advice do I have?
It's important to take advantage of the adoption project managers at Microsoft. Our initial setup was without hiccups, but the team at Microsoft responsible for the early adoption for a successful implementation are key. They really helped with the initial setup. When you start from zero, it's not as intuitive as you might think and it helps to have people with more knowledge to point you in the right direction. It's not rocket science, but trying to do it yourself can be a nightmare.
The product lacks features and is quite expensive so I rate this solution a nine out of 10.
Which deployment model are you using for this solution?

If public cloud, private cloud, or hybrid cloud, which cloud provider do you use?

Great apps with good functionality and an easy initial setup
Pros and Cons
- "The initial setup is very easy."
- "We tend to use everything more than average users are using its capabilities."
- "Teams is, in some respects, lagging behind Skype for Business in some telephone-related features."
What is our primary use case?
We use all aspects of the solution, including SharePoint, Outlook, and Office - whole nine yards.
We're using SharePoint as cloud storage. We are usually using Microsoft Office. We're using Microsoft Project. We are using Microsoft Teams. We're using Skype for business. We're using Excel and Word. We tend to use everything more than average users are using its capabilities.
What is most valuable?
The integration between all of the apps is helpful.
We're using Excel quite a bit, including Visual Basic, including macros, including all kinds of features there, to do reporting and to generate various reports. This is being used, it is good, and its functionality is great.
Microsoft Project is also used quite a bit and we like how easy it is.
However, some things and applications are still not up to speed. For example, I'm talking to you through a Jabra earpiece. If I speak via Skype for Business, and I want to end the conversation, I can press a button on my earpiece and it drops the call. Skype on Teams doesn't work this way.
I find Microsoft Office 365 initial setup is very easy.
The stability is pretty good.
What needs improvement?
Microsoft has different tweaks on various interfaces. If you look, for example, at where the button to update Microsoft Office software is in Word, Excel, and Outlook, they're in three different places. They need to standardize the design in a lot of ways.
Once you update Office, there's a button which takes you to the Microsoft website that is supposed to show what is new in the latest release of Office. It hasn't been updated for at least half a year. Right now, what's listed there is from February.
Teams is, in some respects, lagging behind Skype for Business in some telephone-related features. For example, if I'm talking to you through our Jabra earpiece and if I speak on Skype for Business, and I want to end the conversation, I can press a button on my earpiece and it drops the call. However, Skype on Teams doesn't work this way. This is the telephony side and integration with voice devices could be better.
In Excel, Microsoft is creating better programming functionality, which would allow you to programme without actually programming, which is easier than Visual Basic. They call it Labmda functionality in a beta release, but they have not released it yet. I wish that it would have been available already.
The Office solution has collaborative capabilities, however, it's not as advanced as, for example, Google Docs.
If Word colaborative work on a document works in most cases. However, in Excel, two people can work on the same document, however, it's not truly in real-time.
The product can get expensive. You do need to pay for features and add-ons.
For how long have I used the solution?
I would not be able to pin down exactly when we started using 365 Business as we have been using Microsoft projects for 25 years. However, when it switched to 365 Business, we started using it. That was a couple of years ago.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
The solution is fairly stable. There are no bugs or glitches. It doesn't really have the best real-time collaborative aspects, however, that's more functionality as opposed to stability.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
We have about 100 users on the solution so far. We haven't come across any issues with scalability so far.
How are customer service and technical support?
We have connections to a person who worked at Microsoft, and often, when we have questions, we direct our queries to him instead of Microsoft directly.
How was the initial setup?
We found the initial setup to be quite simple and straightforward. It's not overly complex.
I cannot recall the exact amount of time it took to deploy the solution.
The solution basically maintains itself. It's on the click-to-run version. It does its own updates. I'm trying to be on the biweekly schedule, so that, as soon as they released something new, I'm grabbing it. Sometimes, however, for example, this feature with lambda programming, which was to be released in March, has not come yet.
Beyond that, if any maintenance is needed, we have an IT department that can handle any tasks related to that.
What about the implementation team?
I was able to handle the setup myself. It didn't require us to find an integrator or consultant to help us. It was pretty easy to handle in-house.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
The solution can get quite expensive once you add everything that you need as an organization. You do need to pay for product features and add-ons.
What other advice do I have?
We are using the latest version of the solution.
We are currently migrating to the cloud. Most of it's SharePoint, however, it's still a mix of on-prem and cloud. We have to do a complete migration to the cloud eventually.
While there may be some open-source tools on the market, we find that you do get what you pay for and Microsoft does offer quite a bit. In general, I'm mainly used to Microsoft and have been happy with it. I'd recommend it to others.
I'd rate the solution at a nine out of ten.
Which deployment model are you using for this solution?

A standard, stable, and powerful product with easy deployment
Pros and Cons
- "It is a standard and powerful tool, and because it is a standard tool, everybody uses it."
- "Their support should be improved in terms of faster response and better resolution."
What is our primary use case?
Excel, Word, Teams, and Outlook are the main solutions that we are using.
What is most valuable?
It is a standard and powerful tool. Because it is a standard tool, everybody uses it.
What needs improvement?
Their support should be improved in terms of faster response and better resolution. The price of its license should also be improved.
For how long have I used the solution?
We have been using Microsoft products for more than 20 years. We have a contract with Microsoft for software licensing.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
It is stable.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
It is scalable in the sense that if you need more users, you can increase the number of licenses. Currently, we have 16 users in our organization. We don't have any plan to increase its usage.
How are customer service and technical support?
I don't have a lot of experience with their support, but I don't like Microsoft's support. They are not fast, and they don't provide an exact solution.
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
We have been using Microsoft solutions for a long time. In the beginning, we used Office 123 and WordPerfect in our company.
How was the initial setup?
It is easy to install. The duration depends on the network, but generally, we can do the installation in ten minutes.
What about the implementation team?
We do it ourselves. We have three people for deployment and maintenance. Two of them are engineers, but one of them is not.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
The price of its license should be improved. We have a contract for three years, but we pay on a yearly basis.
What other advice do I have?
I would recommend this solution to others. I would rate Microsoft 365 Business a nine out of ten.
Which deployment model are you using for this solution?
Public Cloud

Global Head ICT (CITP & MIE) at The Aga Khan Academies
Excellent support, easy to set up, and very stable with valuable Microsoft Teams
Pros and Cons
- "Microsoft Teams, without a shadow of a doubt, is the best platform ever. It is also very stable with a lot of options."
- "They should simplify breakout rooms a bit. Breakout rooms are probably the most important factor. They have done some work on breakout rooms, but they probably have to do a bit more to make them simpler."
- "They should simplify breakout rooms a bit."
What is most valuable?
Microsoft Teams, without a shadow of doubt, is the best platform ever.
It is also very stable with a lot of options.
What needs improvement?
They should simplify breakout rooms a bit. Breakout rooms are probably the most important factor. They have done some work on breakout rooms, but they probably have to do a bit more to make them simpler.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have been using this solution for the last eight years.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
It is very stable.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
It is scalable. Currently, we have over 1,200 users. We are also rolling it out to students, and our number of users will roughly be from 3,500 to 4,000. These users will be across the globe at the following locations: Geneva, Paris, London, Dhaka in Bangladesh, Hyderabad in India, Maputo in Mozambique, Mombasa in Kenya, and few locations in Canada and the US.
How are customer service and technical support?
Their technical support is extremely good. They walk you through, and if needed, they are happy to talk to you for a couple of hours. It doesn't matter whether it is the middle of the night or early morning.
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
For students, we have been using Google Suite, but they are no match with Microsoft. So, we are moving out. A limitation of Google is that it is not present at every location. They were able to deploy it for India and Kenya, but for Mozambique, after trying for six months, they refused. They asked for a lot of information, and we gave them all the information. They kept us waiting for six months, and then they came back and said, "No, sorry, we can't provide." That was very disheartening.
In terms of support, Google is no match with Microsoft. Google probably doesn't provide support.
How was the initial setup?
Its installation is so simple. You just have to turn the service on from the global account, and then a user can just log in to his or her account and download and install it. A user doesn't need support. There is, of course, a bit of difference from user to user, but generally, it is fairly simple. You could just click Next and do it yourself. It takes less than five minutes.
What about the implementation team?
I have done it myself, and I have also seen non-IT users doing it themselves.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
Our licensing is annual. We have a Volume Licensing deal with them.
Which other solutions did I evaluate?
We straight away went to Microsoft.
What other advice do I have?
I would recommend this solution without a shadow of doubt. I would rate Microsoft 365 Business a ten out of ten.
Which deployment model are you using for this solution?
Public Cloud

Senior Advisor at a consultancy with 11-50 employees
Has ongoing and fast development and integration with teams
Pros and Cons
- "Microsoft 365 Business is stable and scalable, and the installation is straightforward as well."
- "It helped a lot, especially with all of us working from the home office and still practically being as though we were at work in the office."
- "It's still not fully consistent among all the platforms running on Windows and IOS. It's getting better and better, but there's still a lot of consolidation or integration work to be done."
What is our primary use case?
We use the mail client, and we use PowerPoint 365 and Word 365 to produce documents, offers, and documents for our customers.
How has it helped my organization?
It helped a lot, especially with all of us working from the home office and still practically being as though we were at work in the office. That's what helped most.
What is most valuable?
The ongoing and fast development and integration with teams have been valuable features.
The cost for licensing is reasonable.
Microsoft 365 Business is stable and scalable, and the installation is straightforward as well.
What needs improvement?
Ongoing better integration would be good. It's still not fully consistent among all the platforms running on Windows and IOS. It's getting better and better, but there's still a lot of consolidation or integration work to be done.
More easily accessible training modules would be good to have. They exist, but you have to search for them. Ongoing user support and ongoing learning and education in the product, without being offensive, and making that access easier would be a big advantage over today's product. It should not be an aggressive offering, but it should be easy to find so that we don't have to dig for it.
For how long have I used the solution?
I've been using Microsoft 365 Business for about 5 years.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
With a few exceptions, that are actually lower than they used to be when Microsoft 365 Business was run on-premises, it is very stable.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
We are a company of over 1,000 people, so we don't have any scalability problems. I have been in a mid-sized company or at the lower end of an enterprise with 10,000 people, and we had no scalability issues at all.
How was the initial setup?
The initial setup is straightforward.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
The licensing cost is reasonable.
What other advice do I have?
I would rate this solution at eight on a scale from one to ten.
There are still a lot of companies, especially small ones, that still rely on on-premises or on a small partner that delivers old style Windows Office environments hosted somewhere locally. I would really encourage all of them to move to Microsoft 365, maybe coached or managed by a third-party. I would suggest that they think in this new style and help and support the use of Microsoft 365, an IT commodity, and not think the old way that it has to be installed and maintained the old way.
Which deployment model are you using for this solution?
Public Cloud

Operations Manager at Licent
Stable with good security and an easy initial setup
Pros and Cons
- "The solution is very easy to use. It's completely transparent and extremely easy to navigate."
- "One of our business lines is in GDPR, and for that we recommend customers move to something which is completely secure, and Microsoft Office 365 is one of them."
- "The technical support process could be a bit more secure. The information should stay within the ticketing system itself and not be passed via email."
- "From time to time we have some issues with OneDrive. OneDrive is not perfect."
What is our primary use case?
We are using the product primarily for all of our internal documentation and exchanges. The use cases are nothing special. It's quite basic for the most part.
What is most valuable?
The fact that it's completely on the cloud is one of its most useful aspects. We do not have to manage anything.
We use the Office and Teams mostly. They are very helpful applications for our office.
The solution is very easy to use. It's completely transparent and extremely easy to navigate.
The stability is quite good.
We found the installation to be very simple.
The solution offers good security and compliance.
What needs improvement?
From time to time we have some issues with OneDrive. OneDrive is not perfect. It's nice, however, from time to time we have some problems specifically with reloading the replication. We have to set it up again and again. It's not very stable.
The technical support process could be a bit more secure. The information should stay within the ticketing system itself and not be passed via email.
For how long have I used the solution?
We've been using the solution for three years or so. We've used it for a while now.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
The solution has proven to be quite stable. Its performance is good. There are no bugs or glitches and it doesn't crash or freeze on us.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
We don't really scale the solution. We're a pretty small company. We're only three users, and therefore do not need to scale at all. Therefore, I can't really speak to its capabilities. However, in the future, we are likely to expand usage.
How are customer service and technical support?
I've only had one experience with technical support. It was not for me. It was for one of the customers. However, the experience was really, really good.
Once it was finished, they ask for feedback. Technical support was perfect, however, the ticketing system was not that great. Once you've created a ticket, all the next steps are through email. Yet, if there is an email or something which is private, it should not be sent by email. That's why they have to improve the ticketing process. They should send a link to your ticket via email and always keep the information itself within the ticketing system.
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
The company is quite new. Before I was working at a bigger company which was completely different. However, when we started this new business, we decided to make it as simple as possible for us. That's why we decided to move to the cloud completely.
We also use Zoho for the cloud, for all our accounting, and invoicing, and so on. There is no Microsoft offering for that. It's completely separate. There is no link between them.
How was the initial setup?
The initial setup is not difficult or overly complex. It's pretty straightforward and simple.
The deployment is quick and only takes a few clicks. Implementation is only a few minutes. From an end-user point of view, it's even faster as it's just a click or two.
We don't need anyone to handle deployment or maintenance.
What about the implementation team?
We handle the implementation ourselves. We have an IT team and we are quite capable of managing the implementation. Therefore we don't need the assistance of any integrators or consultants.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
We have a license that we pay on a monthly basis.
Which other solutions did I evaluate?
We did not evaluate other options before choosing Microsoft.
What other advice do I have?
We're just a customer and an end-user.
We are using the latest version of the solution.
We are like customers. Even if we do not sell these kinds of services, when customers ask us for advice, we recommend them to move to Microsoft. One of our business lines is in GDPR. For that, we recommend them to move to something which is completely secure. Microsoft Office 365 is one of them. We recommend customers move to Office 365 for that reason.
I'd rate the solution at a nine out of ten.
Which deployment model are you using for this solution?

If public cloud, private cloud, or hybrid cloud, which cloud provider do you use?

Stable and inexpensive with great collaboration capabilities
Pros and Cons
- "The product has good pricing. It's quite inexpensive."
- "In Office 365, the collaboration part whereby you can actually type your document on your machine, then upload or save it onto your Office 365, and share it with anyone that you want, and actually edit it in real-time is one of the great strengths of Office 365."
- "The customization after the initial setup can take a while."
What is our primary use case?
We are primarily using it for our office.
We are using it for email as well. Our Outlook email is on Office 365.
We also use the other items that come with Office. It's great for task managers, schedulers, and has great document sharing software. We use Sharepoint.
What is most valuable?
Overall, it is a great product. So far, we are enjoying it.
In Office 365, the collaboration part whereby you can actually type your document on your machine, then upload or save it onto your Office 365, and share it with anyone that you want. You can actually edit it in real-time. That's one of the great strengths of Office 365.
The solution is very stable.
The solution scales well.
The product has good pricing. It's quite inexpensive.
What needs improvement?
We haven't used the solution for very long just yet. I can't say that I have come across missing features or faults in its design.
The customization after the initial setup can take a while.
The solution could always be cheaper, as we like to pay the least amount possible.
As long as the solution continues to add new features and grow out the offering, we will be very happy.
For how long have I used the solution?
I've been using the solution for about a month or so now. It hasn't been that long. It's still quite new.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
The stability has been good so far. It does not crash or freeze. There are no bugs or glitches that I have experienced. it's reliable. The performance has been quite good.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
The scalability of the product is quite good. If a company needs to expand it, it can do so with relative ease.
We have roughly 2,500 users on the solution currently.
How are customer service and technical support?
Even though we have only used the solution for about a month or so, we have been in touch with technical support and we have found Microsoft to be helpful and responsive. We're satisfied with their level of service so far.
How was the initial setup?
I didn't directly participate in the initial setup and therefore can't speak to how easy or difficult the product was to install. Microsoft handled it for the most part. We, however, did the work of customizing it on our end. For us, the customization and configuration took us a few days. It was more than a week. It took some time.
The technical team that deals directly with the product is a team of about ten or so people.
What about the implementation team?
The installation was mostly handled by Microsoft.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
I'm not quite clear on the financials. I'm just too technical, and I don't work directly with billing and payments. But I think from what we have seen so far, it's been quite cheap.
What other advice do I have?
Overall, I would rate the solution at a nine out of ten. It's been very capable so far, and we enjoy the real-time file sharing and editing aspects.
I'd recommend this product to other organizations and users.
Which deployment model are you using for this solution?
