Should include features like scripting, meeting summarization, and automated notes, though it has good stability
Pros and Cons
  • "The solution's stability is quite good, and it doesn't crash and freeze up when you have a large number of users."
  • "The solution should include features like scripting, meeting summarization, and automated notes."

What is our primary use case?

We use Microsoft Teams for meetings.

What is most valuable?

The solution's stability is quite good, and it doesn't crash and freeze up when you have a large number of users.

What needs improvement?

The solution should include features like scripting, meeting summarization, and automated notes.

The solution should include a very simple way of capturing transcription without necessarily taking a full recording or any AI product that allows you to note what is going on in the meeting automatically. This would help you have personal notes about the meeting summary that would help you prepare minutes and actions to share with the participants.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

I rate the solution a five out of ten for stability.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

We use the solution daily in our organization, and we have plans to increase the usage.

I rate the solution a seven out of ten for scalability.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

I previously used different solutions like Zoom and Google Meet.

How was the initial setup?

On a scale from one to ten, where one is difficult and ten is easy, I rate the solution's initial setup a two out of ten.

What other advice do I have?

Microsoft Teams is deployed on the cloud in our organization. We use Microsoft Teams as a stand-alone solution in our organization. Microsoft is not very good at keeping your identity separate. Microsoft does all sorts of things to tie you in rather than just allow you to use non-Microsoft tools, which makes it difficult. I would not recommend the solution to other users.

Overall, I rate Microsoft Teams a four out of ten.

Which deployment model are you using for this solution?

Public Cloud

If public cloud, private cloud, or hybrid cloud, which cloud provider do you use?

Microsoft Azure

A stable solution that enables users to share information and collaborate with their team members
Pros and Cons
  • "The product enables us to create teams for specific projects."
  • "The way we test the audio devices must be improved."

What is our primary use case?

We use the solution for customer meetings.

What is most valuable?

It is very easy to set up. The product enables us to create teams for specific projects. We can share information and documents and start collaborating within teams. Setting up meetings is a comfortable experience.

What needs improvement?

The product doesn’t indicate what kind of audio device is connected during the meetings. I do not know whether the participant in the meeting is on a headset or the speaker. The way we test the audio devices must be improved. The test call we make is too complex and takes long. The tool must just provide an option to play a sound and test whether the output is coming from the speakers or headsets.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using the solution for less than four years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

The tool is quite stable. I have never had any issues with stability.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

The tool is scalable.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

We use other tools, too. We use what customers prefer. Microsoft Teams provides easy integration with Microsoft Office. It makes collaboration within teams easy. It enables sharing of information, documents, and presentations. The quality of the online meetings with customers and partners is good. The audio setup is the only con in the product.

What other advice do I have?

We started using the solution during COVID-19. In-person meetings enable more interactions and feedback. Online meetings are beneficial when we have to present something to people in different countries, and we cannot afford the time and cost to organize on-site meetings. People who want to use the tool must have it integrated with Outlook. Overall, I rate the product a ten out of ten.

Great for internal communications, available on mobile and PC, and easy to set up
Pros and Cons
  • "It’s very easy to set up. It doesn't take that long."
  • "The desktop and mobile apps are quite different."

What is our primary use case?

Teams is mostly for internal purposes. We use it to communicate between our company with colleagues. Instead of sending emails all the time, we have Teams just to send documents or communicate for anything, even creating groups.

What is most valuable?

It’s very easy to set up. It doesn't take that long.

You can either use it on your phone or on your PC.

You can make phone and video calls.

It makes it easy to communicate with colleagues.

What needs improvement?

One time the product was basically freezing. I couldn't send a message to my colleague for some reason. I had to restart the PC or restart my phone for some reason. I don't know why it was buggy. Maybe it was overloaded or something.

The desktop and mobile apps are quite different. They should work to make both virtually the same.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

I have had an issue in the past with it being buggy and freezing. I had to restart my devices to get it going again.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

Everybody in our organization uses the solution. It’s on every PC in the company. It’s, give or take, a bit less than 100 people.

How are customer service and support?

Usually, I contact my IT team to share any issues. I haven't used the support from Microsoft Teams. Usually, it doesn't have that many issues. It's just straightforward.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

I’ve also used Slack.

Teams can be used as an internal tool, whereas Slack might be considered more public. We are able to share internal documentation more effectively with Teams.

How was the initial setup?

The initial setup is effortless and straightforward. It’s not complex at all.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

I don't know how much it costs. That’s not an area I am involved in.

What other advice do I have?

I’m not sure which version of the solution we’re using.

It’s good to use it internally with colleagues. You do not have to share anything with external organizations. It gives you basically the advantage of not having any external partners or anything. It's just for internal purposes with nothing to communicate with other partners. It’s a great internal tool.

I’d rate the solution nine out of ten.

What is our primary use case?

We use Microsoft Teams for training and meetings.

What is most valuable?

The most valuable feature of Microsoft Teams is that it is easy to use.

What needs improvement?

Microsoft Teams could improve the integration with Outlook because most of us are not using the last version of Outlook and it causes some issues.

In the next release of Microsoft Teams, they should make the mobile application easier to manage. Additionally, they should add more features.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using Microsoft Teams for approximately two years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

Microsoft Teams is a stable solution. However, we have to turn it off and reconnect sometimes.

Microsoft Teams is a scalable solution. We have more than 600 users using this solution, from all levels in my organization. We have no problem with all our users using this solution.

How are customer service and support?

I have not contacted the support from Microsoft. We have our own internal support.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

We previously used other solutions, such as Bridge and an internal application. Microsoft Teams is the easiest to use.

How was the initial setup?

The implementation of Microsoft Teams is easy on the laptop but sometimes we are facing some difficulties with the phone.

I rate the initial setup of Microsoft Teams a three out of five.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

Microsoft Teams is priced less than other solutions, such as Bridge.

I rate the price of Microsoft Teams a four out of five.
