Good mobile features, excellent search capabilities, and allows for multiple users to edit one document simultaneously
Pros and Cons
  • "They are launching more and more features for mobile, which I understand our customers appreciate."
  • "I am not a big fan of how Gmail organizes the mail. I find it complicated to see which mail from which users send at which date. Especially if there is a lot."

What is our primary use case?

We tend to implement this solution for our clients. The solution is mainly used for email.

What is most valuable?

Most of our customers are using the basic version.

A lot of the customers use Google Suite. They like the word processing, spreadsheets, database, and presenting tools of Google. Younger customers, newer companies, are more used to full Google. Google Docs, Google Spreadsheet, and so, on as they used it already as a student. They are quite comfortable with the solution and find it user-friendly and easy to navigate - more so than Microsoft, for example.

The ability for multiple users to work in one document is very useful.

The Gmail search tool is excellent. They have the most powerful search tool of all the email managers I work with. They are much, much better than Outlook, for instance. The Outlook search machine is fairly poor actually. If you have a lot of emails and you will do a search, it misses a lot.

They are launching more and more features for mobile, which I understand our customers appreciate.

What needs improvement?

I am not a big fan of how Gmail organizes the mail. I find it complicated to see which mail from which users send at which date. Especially if there is a lot.

For how long have I used the solution?

We've been using the solution for about ten years or so. It's been a long time at this point.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

The companies we work with are 100% small and medium-sized. We don't have any enterprise or corporate customers.

How are customer service and support?

While I have never directly dealt with technical support from Google, from talking with my team, it is my understanding that they are quite good. I would say that we are satisfied with the level of support.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

We've also worked with Microsoft. We mostly use that in my office.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

Given how happy our customers have been with the solution, I would rate it at an eight out of ten.

What other advice do I have?

We're a Google partner and we sell to our customers G Suite, or Google Works as it is called now. That's what we do. We're are also a Microsoft partner. We do a lot with Dynamics, Navision Microsoft Dynamics, and we're also a reseller of Microsoft 365. We do backup and disaster recovery in partnership with N‑able. All these things, we do as an MSP. We do remote monitoring as a platform solution where you buy the agents and you do your own management or we do it as an MSP where we do 24/7 management, for instance, of your server monitoring.

We are a managed service provider or a total IT service provider to the market. We do a variety of solutions, primarily for SMEs.

Easy to use and stable but does have formatting issues
Pros and Cons
  • "The solution offers very good email. It's a very good email provider."
  • "For Google Docs, if you upload a Word document up to Google Docs, it could mess up your formatting quite a bit."

What is our primary use case?

We primarily use the solution for email and Google Drive. We use Google Sheets as well occasionally. It's mainly those items. We don't really use Google Docs. It's largely Google Drive and Gmail.

What is most valuable?

The solution is rather easy to collaborate on. You can just upload files, even if it is an Excel file or a Word document. Once they are uploaded, you can collaborate easily.

The solution offers very good email. It's a very good email provider.

The solution is very stable.

The scalability of the solution is very good.

The solution is very easy to use.

It's perfect for smaller organizations.

The initial setup is pretty easy.

What needs improvement?

I used Excel quite a bit. When you switch over to Google Suite, maybe due to the fact that it's a web platform, the shortcuts are not the easiest. I'm quite used to Excel shortcuts. Shortcuts on G Suite are not the best.

In terms of Google Docs, if you upload a Word document up to Google Docs, it could mess up your formatting quite a bit.

For how long have I used the solution?

I've maybe been working with the solution for about three years or so. In my previous company, we were working with G Suite as well. I've used it across a few organizations at this point.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

The stability is very good overall. There are no bugs or glitches. It doesn't crash or freeze. It's reliable.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

The scalability of the product is good. We haven't hit any limitations at all. If a company can scale it, it shouldn't be a problem.

How are customer service and technical support?

I've never had to reach out to technical support. I've never come across a problem that would require me to raise a ticket. The solution works very well. I haven't had any technical issues and therefore have no experience with technical support.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

I also use Microsoft Office. Sometimes when you upload Microsoft to Google, the formatting goes a little haywire.

How was the initial setup?

In terms of the initial setup, I don't know too much about the process. I didn't set it up personally. It was my company's support services that handled the implementation. It was also already up and running when I came in. They just asked me to set up my Gmail and I have access to all the other sorts of apps in G Suite. In that sense, it's straightforward.

What about the implementation team?

Our internal team set up the solution.

What other advice do I have?

We are just users and customers.

I'd rate the solution at a seven out of ten.  If the solution had fewer formatting issues on Microsoft to Google uploads, and if I used Google Keep more, I might rate it higher.

If you don't use anything, it's always between this option and Office 365. For a smaller company, G Suite is easy to set up. I would assume it's quite straightforward. Microsoft might be better for a larger organization. In general, however, the whole setup is pretty easy to use.

Stable, easy to use, and very quick to set up
Pros and Cons
  • "The general ease of use is the solution's most valuable aspect. It's extremely simple to use. You don't even have to look up videos in order to figure things out. It's all very intuitive."
  • "They could increase the number of third-party integrations on offer."

What is our primary use case?

The product itself has a host of tools that come with it. Basically, we use it for our online meetings - web-based meetings. We use Google Meet for them. For file storage, we are using Google Drive. For any surveys or anything, again, there are capabilities. We are using the product for Gmail - their email service.

What is most valuable?

The solution has a host of features. There are so many, we are not using all of them. However, quite a few of them, including Drive, Sheets, Docs, Gmail, Meet, Calendar, and so on are extremely valuable to us.

The general ease of use is the solution's most valuable aspect. It's extremely simple to use. You don't even have to look up videos in order to figure things out. It's all very intuitive.

The solution is very stable.

The scalability is very good.

The product is on the cloud. It's plug-and-play. There isn't a long, drawn-out setup process.

What needs improvement?

The pricing of the solution could be better. Maybe they can get some special pricing for it. They have something called a Business Starter, but maybe they can look at still slightly more optimized pricing for the other companies as well.

They could increase the number of third-party integrations on offer.

I don't see any technical challenges or features that are lacking. More or less, they have everything we need.

For how long have I used the solution?

We've been using the solution for about a year or so now. It hasn't been too long.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

We've found the solution to be very stable. We haven't faced any bugs or glitches. It doesn't crash or freeze. It's given us no issues at all so far. It's reliable.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

The solution can scale. If a company needs to expand, it can do so with relative ease.

We have about 50 users on the solution at this time.

We do pan to continue to use it, and to increase usage in the future.

How are customer service and technical support?

We did not require the assistance of technical support, and therefore I cannot speak to their level of service. We only really had two issues, and we simply used Google to find the answers we needed. Technical support was not required. Therefore, I can't speak to their level of knowledge or responsiveness.

How was the initial setup?

The solution is on the cloud. It's kind of a plug-and-play solution. We just got a license or subscription. It gave us access to so many users. There are no hassles at all for the installation and configuration. They make it very simple.

It hardly takes more than a few minutes. The deployment is very fast.

You only need one person to handle the deployment process. It requires a very minimal amount of staff.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

The pricing is a bit high. They should offer more licenses that could appeal to a wider variety of companies.

We currently have a yearly subscription which we pay.

What other advice do I have?

We are using the latest version of the solution currently.

I'd recommend this solution to other users or companies. It's very user-friendly and easy to adopt.

I'd rate the product at a perfect ten out of ten. For a company our size, it gives us everything we require. It's great.

Provides great opportunities for collaboration and streamlining our business
Pros and Cons
  • "Extremely reliable, providing great collaboration features."
  • "There is some redundancy in the functionality between certain modules."

What is our primary use case?

This solution is our primary tool for communication and collaboration within the company. We use it for everything possible. We are partners with Google and I'm a cloud expert and company partner.

How has it helped my organization?

This product has improved our organization in many ways, whether it's in terms of quick access to information from any place and the fact that it's more than just email. In the work environment I can quickly collaborate with others on urgent matters. Problems are addressed more quickly and content is created and approved in less time, providing quick and easy access to information.

What is most valuable?

It's difficult to name a single valuable feature, but I like that it simply works and is reliable. I like the philosophy of the product.

What needs improvement?

G Suite has improved but there's still some redundancy in the functionality between certain modules. The general Q and A's are different from the Q and A's in Google presentations and Google slides. I think the three could be unified into a single function rather than three different functions. For additional features, I'd like to see some project management area tools, workflow tools around document management, that kind of thing.

For how long have I used the solution?

I've been using this solution for over 10 years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

The solution is absolutely reliable and stable.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

Scalability is excellent - the product is a public cloud product so by definition it's scalable. We're not a big company, we have close to 20 users and they are in all roles, whether it's sales, marketing, professional services or administration.

How are customer service and technical support?

As partners, I think the technical support offered is good. From Google's perspective, I think it could be improved. There is quality lacking in their support. The solution works very well and there are rarely any technical issues and that could be the reason that their first line of support is not great. I think it's similar with other vendors so it seems to be the industry average.

How was the initial setup?

The initial setup is very straightforward.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

There are different licensing packages available so you can choose what suits you. The price is relatively low, it's reasonable.

What other advice do I have?

Compared to anything else, this solution is absolutely the best.

I rate this solution a 10 out of 10.

Good anti-spam engine for emails, easy to implement, and useful for many things
Pros and Cons
  • "When it comes to email, Google has a very good anti-spam engine or solution. We get very less spams. We don't have to use an external anti-spam solution with this."
  • "In Google Meet, there is no feature for recording a meeting. It should have a feature for recording."

What is our primary use case?

We are using it for online calendar and meetings. It can also be used for email, notes, cloud storage, and Google Drive.

What is most valuable?

When it comes to email, Google has a very good anti-spam engine or solution. We get very less spams. We don't have to use an external anti-spam solution with this.

What needs improvement?

In Google Meet, there is no feature for recording a meeting. It should have a feature for recording.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using this solution for more than three years.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

We have somewhere around 75 users. Its usage will increase to a maximum of 100 users.

How are customer service and technical support?

Their technical support is fine. For most of the things, we don't need support, but whenever required, we can get support.

How was the initial setup?

Being a cloud solution, no big effort is required for its implementation. It is easy to implement this solution.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

We normally purchase the license on a yearly basis.

What other advice do I have?

I would recommend this solution. I would rate G Suite Enterprise a nine out of ten.

Scalable with an easy initial setup and great stability
Pros and Cons
  • "The product can scale easily."
  • "The cost could be improved. It can sometimes be a bit confusing figuring out how we are actually being charged."

What is our primary use case?

We primarily use the solution for the various software on the platform. We also use it for sales administration.

What is most valuable?

The most valuable aspect of the solution is its ability to offer sales administrative support.

The initial setup is very easy.

The stability has always been very good.

The product can scale easily.

What needs improvement?

The cost could be improved. It can sometimes be a bit confusing figuring out how we are actually being charged.

There should be something done about inter-productivity between cloud platforms. It is so difficult to connect two different platforms with these tools as there is not any inter-productivity or inter-operability.

For how long have I used the solution?

We started with the free version of the solution and have since moved to the enterprise option. We've used the solution for about three years at this time.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

The product is very stable. It doesn't crash or freeze. There are no bugs or glitches. It's reliable.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

The solution is quite scalable. A company could easily expand it out to fit whatever needs they have.

Currently, our organization has about 50 users. We do plan to continue to use the solution.

How are customer service and technical support?

I can't really speak to the helpfulness or responsiveness of technical support. We don't really use it that much.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

We didn't really use any other solution previously. We might have just used other Google offerings. We were only four people, and we originally a small team.

How was the initial setup?

The initial setup is not complex. It's very straightforward. It's easy. A company wouldn't have any issues with the prospect of setting it up internally.

The deployment only took 15 days. It was quite quick. We really appreciated it didn't take too long.

I can't directly speak to how many people were involved internally in the deployment and maintenance aspects of the product.

What about the implementation team?

We did not use a reseller, integrator, or consultant's services during the initial setup. We were able to handle it ourselves internally. We had our own team in place.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

The cost structure should be adjusted to make it more clear and explain better to users how they are being charged and why.

We started with the free version and have since moved to the enterprise offering.

I don't have information regarding the exact costs for our company.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

We did not evaluate other options before choosing this product.

What other advice do I have?

We're just customers and end-users.

I would recommend the solution. We've been mostly quite happy with it overall.

In general, I would rate the solution at a nine out of ten.

Great for collaboration, extremely scalable, and reasonable pricing
Pros and Cons
  • "I like the capabilities for collaboration on any platform. For example, I might be on an iPad whereas the person next to me is on a laptop and the person next to them is on their phone. We can all collaborate together and update documentation in real-time."
  • "Better integration without visual misrepresentation with the Microsoft suite is required."

What is our primary use case?

It's a wonderful solution for an organization that is changing in size dramatically. I find it super easy to add, delete, or replace users. From an administrative perspective, that's really nice. It provides all the collaboration and integration needed for teams and uses the Microsoft Suite of solutions quite nicely.

What is most valuable?

I like the capabilities for collaboration on any platform. For example, I might be on an iPad whereas the person next to me is on a laptop and the person next to them is on their phone. We can all collaborate together and update documentation in real-time.

Working on documentation and the revalidation of formulas in their sheets application are both hugely valuable. I don't use as much some of their native version management. I tend to have my own system for that, so I don't use it for that, however, I do like the ability for multi-user real-time collaboration. That's a critical value point on G Suite.

What needs improvement?

Better integration without visual misrepresentation with the Microsoft suite is required. Right now, I'm paying for everything from my website and everything else under Google suite. I really like it. However, on occasion, when I have to interact, especially back and forth, and particularly on legal terms documents, there's always some formatting or structural issues between G Suite documents and Microsoft Word, for example.

When you're copying files from one location to another and they say, "Oh, there are already files there. Would you like to just overwrite them? Or would you like to choose them one by one?" I would like, when I'm looking to integrate with a Microsoft user, to be able to make my selections on a selection by selection basis, and then be able to save that as a configuration for that communication between myself on G Suite and them on Microsoft Office. That would be an amazing feature.

For how long have I used the solution?

I've been using the solution for 20 years. It's been two decades.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

I've never seen a limit to the solution in terms of how high it can scale. I've never seen an upper-end issue. I'm also talking about users to the maximum of hundreds. I haven't needed the solution for tens of thousands of people. I'm assuming that there is some sort of upper limit, however, for now, both the limit from an individual user or for small and medium-size organizations, the ability to quickly adjust your limits on the storage isn't a problem.

For example, I'm using Google storage as my primary cloud storage provider. I find it fantastic. And I get a lot of warnings as to when I'm getting close to the limit. I can just up my program, increase my storage and it's done. I don't have to do anything more.

How are customer service and technical support?

We've never had to deal with technical support. I'm capable of doing it all myself and or one or two of the other people in our office can handle any problems as well. Since we've ever had to deal with technical support, I can't speak to their quality of service.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

I've used Office 365 and related solutions from Microsoft almost as much as G Suite. I also use communications platforms, such as Zoom.

I only use Zoom when I have to. It's not one of my favorite platforms. I prefer others. I prefer the Google Suite communications platform. If I look on my phone, I've got Google Hangouts, Google duo, and I'll tend to use those over Zoom.

Zoom is getting better. The security is getting better. However, I still use Google and WebEx and any number of different platforms depending on what is the preferred platform of my customers.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

I do not know the licensing costs off the top of my head. It's been months since I've looked at it. Due to the fact that we're on a per-user basis, I consider the pricing to be very reasonable. However, it fluctuates up and down with the number of employees.

What other advice do I have?

We're just customers; we don't have a business relationship with Google.

There's always going to be a decision to either go with a G Suite, Microsoft Office, or some other open-source platform like Open Office. I would suggest G Suite to someone who's considering making a move, especially if they are a new enterprise. They need to consider carefully who they're going to be interacting with in terms of clients.

Does it make sense for them to pay the premium price and go to the Microsoft Suite because of the nature of the work they're doing? It depends on the situation. If I was doing a lot of legal work with a lot of documentation back and forth, I wouldn't even think twice. I'd only use Microsoft.

However, if I'm doing a lot of other sorts of work where I need to have collaboration, I would hands down choose G Suite. If I'm not worried about collaboration and I just want cheap and cheerful, I would probably go to Open Office.

I'd rate the solution nine out of ten.

In constant use for office related work and collaborative meetings; very secure and user friendly
Pros and Cons
  • "It's a secure solution that enables you to choose those you wish to share with."
  • "Less customizations than there used to be."

What is our primary use case?

We have a team of eight people and everyone is using G Suite whether for collaboration, storing files, Google Word, or using Sheets to Slides, it's all on G Suite. 99.95% of our work revolves around it. It's mainly for office related work and collaborations, that's our primary use case. We're a customer of G Suite and I'm the founder and M.D. of our company.

How has it helped my organization?

It helped us a lot of working together on single artifacts. Since we are in consulting there are lot of documents we build so now we don't have to send documents, we work on the same document with a lot better version control.

Google meet has helped us a lot as well, we do all our customer / internal meetings over google meet. Majority of our workforce is either onsite or working remotely.

What is most valuable?

This product is quite secure in that I can choose the people whom I want to share with, and it's not automatically available to everyone. It's also very user friendly. We started using Gmail and other Google applications almost 12 years ago, so it was quite easy for us to blend in the entire collaboration suite. They're the two major reasons we chose to use Google Suite.

What needs improvement?

There are quite a few things missing in G Suite. It can create a barrier to some features so that for a particular presentation we might have to move to Microsoft PowerPoint for a presentation. Also, some years ago, the Google Sites were very customizable but now they've become a bit compact, and we don't have the same number of plugins and customizations available. Those are two issues we face.

For additional features, we currently face a problem with the lack of a remote desktop option. It means that if we're collaborating, I cannot access your desktop the way it can be done with Skype or Microsoft Teams. It's a feature that's used regularly and that's important to all of us and should be something they include in the next release.

For how long have I used the solution?

We've been using this solution for the past two years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

This is a stable solution. The only issues are when moving to a new framework, there can be hiccups but we haven't had any outages.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

Anna: Okay, perfect. And if we're talking about scalability, have you tried to scale it?

In our own organization we've implemented for 10 people but we have implemented to 100 in other companies. The scalability really doesn't have a limit. So, if you go for the G Suite, it's a highly scalable solution. I know companies with 400 employees that are using G Suite without a problem.

How are customer service and technical support?

I've contacted technical support once in the last 2 year because of a misconfiguration on our side, and they were able to sort it out. Unfortunately, in India there's no direct support network, so we have to raise a request over email or in the portal and they connect us to Malaysia or somewhere.

How was the initial setup?

If you follow the implementation process step by step, there is almost no chance that you will run into a problem. We are an IT service and solutions company and we did the configuration ourselves without using any external party and it was very simple and intuitive. You just follow the instructions step by step. Deployment takes maybe an hour and it doesn't change, whether you have 10 users or 400 users. There is no maintenance required for this solution.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

I believe we pay approximately 2500 Rupees monthly for our users. There are no additional costs.

What other advice do I have?

Individuals need to explore the options based on their business needs. G Suite has building forms, online forms, reports, everything like that. It's just a matter of exploring it and understanding your requirements.

I would rate this solution an eight out of 10. It still requirements some improvements in order to catch up to Microsoft.

Which deployment model are you using for this solution?

Public Cloud

If public cloud, private cloud, or hybrid cloud, which cloud provider do you use?
