Great automation, removes repetitive task work, and good drag and drop functionality

What is our primary use case?

Monday.com is used in multiple areas, from being a CRM that I use for influencers, reaching out to new ones, and keeping in touch with long-term influencers. It's also a great to-do list for all my tasks.

It's used for content calendars and approvals. It's easy to leave specific comments on specific posts and how to change them. This way there is no need to go back and forth on chat.

How has it helped my organization?

Monday.com allows me to get rid of all the mundane repetitive tasks on the daily. Things like writing a whole new email to an influencer even though I only need to change parts of it. I can use Monday.com to create a customizable email template and send it to as many influencers and as much customizability as I require.

It's also great for keeping track of tasks. Having 20-30-40 tasks and keeping track of all is not easy, the easy drag and drop on Monday allows me to prioritize and work on tasks as needed.

What is most valuable?

Automation is by far the most valuable tool ever. By automating things I save enough time to make Monday.com worth every dollar without accounting for the rest of the features.

As mentioned earlier, I've almost fully automated every repetitive task that I needed to work on day in and day out. By doing this, I've freed up my time and brain to work on tasks that actually make a difference. I like the notifications, file sharing, and most recently, the mirroring and linking of multiple boards.

What needs improvement?

I love the email automation and it's great, however, there is something that is still missing. We need to have conversations within the platform. If it's possible to filter certain emails and bring them all into one Monday.com task and have a full conversation with that person through Monday, that would be ideal. It would save me hours of time trying to find old emails, referencing them, and getting information out of them.

I'd like Google Drive integration where I don't have to leave Monday.com to look and search on my drive. Quickly linking to files, creating new folders, etc. would be fantastic

Can import items from Excel, helps visualize information, and assists in time management

What is our primary use case?

I work in the affiliate marketing industry, where we have numerous content blogs as well as other promotional models. Monday.com has helped us greatly in the organization and flow of our processes. It allows us to visualize the information in different ways, and therefore have a clear and established process of what needs to be done for each item. It also facilitates the organization and prioritization of our daily and weekly activities. Likewise, I use it to organize my projects and to have a clear and previously established process.

How has it helped my organization?

Monday has made our task overview much easier. It allows us to place our key actions for the day or week, and visualize those activities in different ways. It also lets our superiors know what we are working on, or if we have any specific blocks.

Finally, it has allowed us to establish clear processes for each specific task that is carried out within the company, and thus optimize our time. For example, it allows us to organize our work and personal projects, establishing the perfect order of each activity and its level of priority.

What is most valuable?

The most important feature is to be able to import items from Excel and place them in a Monday file. It allows us to drag primary information and establish clear processes of how each item is going to be attacked. It also allows us to add owners so that each person knows which item corresponds to them and can complete their activities accordingly. 

Another very important feature is the placement of dates. It allows us to know in advance when each part of the project would be finished, and thus optimize our time.

What needs improvement?

One feature that would certainly improve on Monday is the fact that each group of a board has the same columns. I would find it interesting to put the option of each group having different columns. For instance, a group of data from the final step of a process should have more columns than the previous ones, referring to final activities that correspond to the end of a process. Another aspect of Monday that I'm not such a fan of is the infinite scroll to the right. Other alternatives could be evaluated to improve this.

I have been using Monday.com for about two years now.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

Previously we were using Excel for our organization, but we realized that it was not the optimal tool to organize processes in which many employees had to fulfil a part of the process. For this reason, we decided to use Monday's tool and it has worked great for us.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

The integration with other applications is very easy and I have not had any problems in almost two years of use.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

We evaluated the option of using ClickUp. We decided to stick with Monday as it offered us a more competitive price and the features are quite similar.

What other advice do I have?

Monday is an excellent tool. I highly recommend it.

Easy to use with great features and good tagging functionality

What is our primary use case?

We are a small church with two full-time employees and two part-time employees. We use Monday.com to plan everything from weekend gatherings to major community events. This includes every aspect of a weekend gathering or service including, graphic presentations, bulletins, music, the message, who is on security, children's ministry details, etc. 

We usually plan each quarter ahead of time, which helps us mark major events and holidays. Using color, we are able to highlight special occasions with ease. 

How has it helped my organization?

Monday.com keeps us all on the same page especially when we aren't all in the office at the same time. 

It has reduced inter-office emails, texts, and phone calls significantly and reduced in-person meeting times by half. From minor details to major issues that need a running thread for staff discussion, Monday.com provides a one-stop location to house all of our thoughts, plans, and discussions. 

It is as easy to use as Facebook yet with more complex options if you want to take the time to learn how to use them. 

What is most valuable?

There are many incredible features, however, the ability to tag each other in comments, mark out progress, and get alerts through the app keeps us moving forward. As soon as someone has finished their part of a project, all members are alerted, and the next person can continue on. This also helps us see if there is a problem or if someone is falling behind so we can get the extra help if necessary. 

We often post on Monday.com instead of sending emails that may or may not get lost in the shuffle. Monday.com is the best way we have found to work smarter and not harder.

What needs improvement?

We are very happy with the current state of the product. 

It would be helpful if there were a little more flexibility with user numbers and the ability to add guests for a period of time. For instance, if we are doing a major event that requires a dozen volunteers, it would be wonderful if there were some cost-effective way to give them all access to one particular board for a period of time. I understand this may not work with the business model, however, being able to allow people temporary access to a single board or even the ability to simply view a board and get alerts without breaking the bank would be icing on the cake. 

For how long have I used the solution?

Our office has been using Monday.com for well over a year now and we could not be happier. 

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

Whether we are using it online via a web browser or the mobile app on our office phones and tablets, Monday.com’s stability is rock solid. We have had no data loss, crashes, or team miscommunications due to delayed web/app updates. At any time or place our team is able to access all of our shared information so we can make quick decisions. We couldn’t be happier with Monday.com’s performance.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

We are a small office, however, I believe that Monday.com can be effectively scaled to fit any organization. 

How are customer service and support?

We have not had to contact customer support for any reason.

For a time, we used Trello. It did not go well.

How was the initial setup?

I learned the basics and then taught the others over the course of a week. We created a test board to go along with a project we were already working on using our then current method and Monday.com. By the end of the week, we had completely transitioned.

We handled the setup in-house.

What was our ROI?

Monday.com paid for itself immediately by allowing us to be more productive and less frustrated.

It does take a little time and money to get started, however, it is completely worth it in the end. You may have to remind people to use Monday.com rather than the old system to get them in the habit.

We did our research, however, after a short test run, Monday.com won hands down.

We seriously love using Monday.com.

What is our primary use case?

At the communication office, we use it to manage all our topics, including what topics we have to make, Facebook ads, our social media schedule, project management, and so on. 

We are a team of 30 people working in communications for a city. We have one folder for each team and we can interact without emails about every single subject we have. We also share all our documents on Monday: communication plans, reporting, data, and so on. We manage the city newspaper on Monday as well, including who will do what, when, about what, etc.

How has it helped my organization?

It reduces the number of emails we exchange. It also permits us to keep an eye on what our colleagues do in a global way. For example (the example of my service), we can follow the evolution of a task to know when we will receive a final document. 

In terms of social media, we have one board. On this board, we have one item by post and we can skip to a calendar view, which is very useful. On top of that, we can also exchange with our colleagues' pieces of information, links, and pictures we need to create social media posts. All the solutions we had before are now in one platform.

What is most valuable?

The most valuable aspect of the solution is the fact that we can make the tool as we want, in the way it is the most useful for us. This customization is a strength. It adapts to everyone. For example, for social media, we need a calendar and now we have one. For the magazine, we need a big table and now we have one. 

It's also true for each single person. We have group tables yet we also can create one only for one person. It makes it easier to manage the orgzanization of the tasks we have to manage, with deadlines, documents, reminders, links, pictures, etc.

What needs improvement?

In terms of synchronization, maybe some tools can be more synchronized. For example, with Facebook Ads, we can ad campaigns and still, everything is not synchronized and is not as useful as the Facebook ads tool if we want to make reports. 

Also maybe it could be useful to make a better connection between tables. When we write something in one item, it doesn't synchronize with the one linked in another board. 

It could be interesting to have Microsoft Teams tools and also Outlook email on it and more integrated.

For how long have I used the solution?

I've used the solution for more than a year.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

It could be improved in terms of stability. We often have problems with bugs and slow service. 
- The website could be slow and nothing is loading although we refresh and clean the browser cache

- We write comments, change status or other content and when we refresh, nothing appears. So we have to try many times before it’s ok.

- The time zone change although we didn’t change it in parameters.

- To download a zip file from “folders”, sometimes it’s charging but nothing happens 

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

There is often scalability, which is a good thing.

How are customer service and support?

I'd prefer to have online support in French.

We used to use Trello. It was not as useful as Monday. We switched as the service decided to. We adapted our way to work to fit with Monday.

It's quite complex to set up, however, honestly, if each employee takes half a day to test and try everything, then it's quite easy to use.

I did not evaluate ROI due to the fact that we do not sell products.

I don't manage the license. 

It's a powerful and easy tool to work with in teams in order to centralize and reduce email.

Great for organization and communication with helpful tagging capabilities

What is our primary use case?

We are a design and marketing company and have grown from one freelance designer to a team of ten people. As we have expanded the team, we needed a platform to put all job requests which allows us to allocate each job to a specific team member. I believe we started using this just before lockdown. 

We had previously used a system called Redbooth however we needed something a bit more sofisticated. The main use of this was so we can see all jobs at a glance and also mark them with a status as to where they're up to, and when they're complete. 

How has it helped my organization?

Monday.com has allowed us to organize our workload in a much more efficient way. 

We can communicate better within the team, especially throughout lockdown and when some of the team are working from home. 

We have also been able to give access to clients at time which has been useful, to keep them up to date without having to send emails. 

We can now allocate jobs to multiple team members and they can communicate the progress within the job notes and status. It has really helped us to manage our ongoing work.

What is most valuable?

Monday.com has allowed us to list all our jobs on different client boards, and organize our workload as a team and as individuals. Throughout lockdown, this was especially useful, as we could use Monday.com to communicate and leave notes about each job. The automation options are also very useful as once a job is complete, it can be moved to the bottom of the board, into a different group. Being able to tag multiple people onto one job is also beneficial too us, as we often have two to three members of the team working on one project.

What needs improvement?

The biggest thing missing that would be beneficial to us is a time tracking app.

We currently use Toggl daily to track all our client time. We would much prefer this function to be within Monday.com so that we can manage all our jobs and time within the same platform. 

It would also help if we could see all jobs under one user's name within a calendar format. I know this is something you offer but at the moment we don't find it very clear. Also, when a user's name is searched, all jobs they are to show, however, this includes completed jobs that we don't think should appear.

I've used the solution for two to three years.

How are customer service and support?

Technical support is very good. It's quick and helpful.

Perfect automation, helpful technical support, and easy to deploy

What is our primary use case?

We use the product for internal project management for every department in the business: marketing, product launches, finance, logistics etc. 

We also invite our external agencies to internal projects like SEO, Ads and Press.  

How has it helped my organization?

We are a small full remote team. As we grew, the complexity of projects grew as well as the number of projects. Monday helped us scale easily, understand bottlenecks, and plan accordingly. It's also been a life saver as I don't need to remember anything. It's all on Monday! We've totally moved away from emails. 

It gives managers a clear view on how projets are moving forward and they are able to give support where needed without having to constantly follow-up.  

What is most valuable?

Board templates are really good when you have recurring projects. 

Automations are perfect to save time and remind people of various tasks. 

Overall the product is really good and can adapt to any team with specific columns for each board. 

"My Work" gives you a great view of all the tasks that are due and upcoming.

What needs improvement?

The dependencies and Gantt chart could be better. I would love it to have personal views with hidden columns per board. Sometimes it can get quite overwhelming. 

I'm not a big fan of the new left panel organization by workspace. Maybe this is due to the fact that we are in a small business. 

We'd like to send emails via Monday. Ideally, being able to cc Monday tasks from our mail account could be better. (ie. sending attachments, being able to cc the task with people not in Monday (they received an error message when replying).  

I'd love it if their could be feature to plan for work time for a task (not a timeline as it shows in your "My Work" view)

Stability is pretty good. Every now and then server is down.

The scalability is very good although it would be great to have more onboarding videos.

What is our primary use case?

The primary use case of Monday.com in our office experience is for event planning, organization, promotion, and execution. It is helpful in the process of identifying what needs to be done, who needs to do it, and when it needs to be done. 

Overall, it is really helpful in the behind-the-scenes processes of event planning. Our environment for event planning is a non-profit educational organization and our events range from 50 to 12,000 people in attendance. We primarily use it for mid-size events, however, it has been helpful in other types, too. 

How has it helped my organization?

It has helped us organize details and tasks that need to take place leading up to an event. 

It helpfully can assign tasks to co-workers while also notifying them. There are several sections where they can fill in more information about details. 

In event planning, it is easy to let small things slip through the cracks as you are attempting to execute the big picture of the event, however, details like name cards, reserved signs, table numbers, and smaller gifts can be forgotten in the process. Monday.com is helpful in reminding us who is helping with those small things.

What is most valuable?

The features that are most valuable to us include creating sections of lists in an event, being able to assign tasks to different people (and having them automatically get notified), assigning different aspects like dates/details to these tasks, and also being able to attach important documents to tasks like schedules, menus, and other event details. 

Monday.com has been helpful to us in multiple ways, however, primarily it has been great in the ability to think through details and assign them to different coworkers. 

What needs improvement?

Monday.com can be improved by becoming even more simplistic in settings/layout. 

I have had multiple co-workers tell me about their confusion at first glance of the website. However, they typically get used to it. 

I would recommend creating an even simpler layout of the main screen as well as of the settings. I have had difficulty trying to figure out how to adjust the settings for various items, including setting up notifications. 

Overall, I think Monday.com is user-friendly, however, improvements can be made.

I've used the solution for about two years.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

We tried using Slack, however, it was not very user-friendly because I have had many co-workers tell me they could not understand how to use it. Comparatively, Monday.com was easier to learn to use on a daily basis.

It is a little pricey, yet worth it if you have the extra revenue stream.

What is our primary use case?

I work at an architecture firm with 12 employees, two offices, and one fully remote employee. We often have 20+ projects going at any given moment, of varying scales. 

We utilize Monday for project management, project schedules and tracking, and office production scheduling. We use it for a bird's eye view of projects as well as more detailed down to individual tasks per project, depending on the project. We also create a production schedule each week using Monday to assign project tasks to each employee. 

How has it helped my organization?

It has allowed us to keep track of everyone's tasks and organize which personnel is working on what and for when, as well as track deadlines and tasks more efficiently. 

We are able to compare project timelines and see where due dates and deadlines may overlap so that we can properly space out project schedules and properly staff the right people on the right projects at the right time. 

It also allows project managers to keep track of the tasks needed to be completed on any given project and assign those tasks to any given employee. 

What is most valuable?

The features our company has found most valuable are the timelines, the calendars, and the Gantt Charts. 

Within our company's workspace, we use these features to create production schedules, project schedules, allow employees to make production requests, and make task lists and track their progress. We even use these for general office concerns, lists, and organizing events. 

The ability to assign members to tasks and then have them update the status on them and even ask related questions under the task has been very helpful. The company has absolutely benefitted from this tool as a project management tool and is great for remote work as well. 

What needs improvement?

As a new hire, it was a bit complex for me to learn and understand how to use Monday. Part of that may be due to the complexities in which my company uses it, and part of that may be due to Monday. The user interface was a bit daunting at first. Although it makes sense to me now, it was hard to follow in the beginning. Now, I enjoy using it and find it very beneficial. 

In the next release, including a chat feature would be incredibly beneficial. We can comment back and forth under certain topics, however, being able to chat/instant message individually, per project, and company-wide would be helpful.

I've used the solution for approximately one year.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

We are unsure of the stability as management has more knowledge in this department.

I have only been at the company a year. I am not sure what was used before.

I'm unsure how the setup went. Management has more knowledge in this department. However, setting up new boards and spaces is a bit complex even for me.

I'm unsure of the ROI as management has more knowledge in this department.
