We are a small full remote team. As we grew, the complexity of projects grew as well as the number of projects. Monday helped us scale easily, understand bottlenecks, and plan accordingly. It's also been a life saver as I don't need to remember anything. It's all on Monday! We've totally moved away from emails.
It gives managers a clear view on how projets are moving forward and they are able to give support where needed without having to constantly follow-up.
Board templates are really good when you have recurring projects.
Automations are perfect to save time and remind people of various tasks.
Overall the product is really good and can adapt to any team with specific columns for each board.
"My Work" gives you a great view of all the tasks that are due and upcoming.
The dependencies and Gantt chart could be better. I would love it to have personal views with hidden columns per board. Sometimes it can get quite overwhelming.
I'm not a big fan of the new left panel organization by workspace. Maybe this is due to the fact that we are in a small business.
We'd like to send emails via Monday. Ideally, being able to cc Monday tasks from our mail account could be better. (ie. sending attachments, being able to cc the task with people not in Monday (they received an error message when replying).
I'd love it if their could be feature to plan for work time for a task (not a timeline as it shows in your "My Work" view)
We've used the solution for three years.
Stability is pretty good. Every now and then server is down.
The scalability is very good although it would be great to have more onboarding videos.
Technical support is super helpful and very fast to respond.
We did not use solutions.
The initial setup is super straightforward. We imported our Excel files.
We handled the setup in-house.
The ROI has been very good.
We looked into Asana, Trello, and Notion.
The primary use case of Monday.com in our office experience is for event planning, organization, promotion, and execution. It is helpful in the process of identifying what needs to be done, who needs to do it, and when it needs to be done.
Overall, it is really helpful in the behind-the-scenes processes of event planning. Our environment for event planning is a non-profit educational organization and our events range from 50 to 12,000 people in attendance. We primarily use it for mid-size events, however, it has been helpful in other types, too.
It has helped us organize details and tasks that need to take place leading up to an event.
It helpfully can assign tasks to co-workers while also notifying them. There are several sections where they can fill in more information about details.
In event planning, it is easy to let small things slip through the cracks as you are attempting to execute the big picture of the event, however, details like name cards, reserved signs, table numbers, and smaller gifts can be forgotten in the process. Monday.com is helpful in reminding us who is helping with those small things.
The features that are most valuable to us include creating sections of lists in an event, being able to assign tasks to different people (and having them automatically get notified), assigning different aspects like dates/details to these tasks, and also being able to attach important documents to tasks like schedules, menus, and other event details.
Monday.com has been helpful to us in multiple ways, however, primarily it has been great in the ability to think through details and assign them to different coworkers.
Monday.com can be improved by becoming even more simplistic in settings/layout.
I have had multiple co-workers tell me about their confusion at first glance of the website. However, they typically get used to it.
I would recommend creating an even simpler layout of the main screen as well as of the settings. I have had difficulty trying to figure out how to adjust the settings for various items, including setting up notifications.
Overall, I think Monday.com is user-friendly, however, improvements can be made.
I've used the solution for about two years.
We tried using Slack, however, it was not very user-friendly because I have had many co-workers tell me they could not understand how to use it. Comparatively, Monday.com was easier to learn to use on a daily basis.
It is a little pricey, yet worth it if you have the extra revenue stream.
We have not yet evaluated other options.
I work at an architecture firm with 12 employees, two offices, and one fully remote employee. We often have 20+ projects going at any given moment, of varying scales.
We utilize Monday for project management, project schedules and tracking, and office production scheduling. We use it for a bird's eye view of projects as well as more detailed down to individual tasks per project, depending on the project. We also create a production schedule each week using Monday to assign project tasks to each employee.
It has allowed us to keep track of everyone's tasks and organize which personnel is working on what and for when, as well as track deadlines and tasks more efficiently.
We are able to compare project timelines and see where due dates and deadlines may overlap so that we can properly space out project schedules and properly staff the right people on the right projects at the right time.
It also allows project managers to keep track of the tasks needed to be completed on any given project and assign those tasks to any given employee.
The features our company has found most valuable are the timelines, the calendars, and the Gantt Charts.
Within our company's workspace, we use these features to create production schedules, project schedules, allow employees to make production requests, and make task lists and track their progress. We even use these for general office concerns, lists, and organizing events.
The ability to assign members to tasks and then have them update the status on them and even ask related questions under the task has been very helpful. The company has absolutely benefitted from this tool as a project management tool and is great for remote work as well.
As a new hire, it was a bit complex for me to learn and understand how to use Monday. Part of that may be due to the complexities in which my company uses it, and part of that may be due to Monday. The user interface was a bit daunting at first. Although it makes sense to me now, it was hard to follow in the beginning. Now, I enjoy using it and find it very beneficial.
In the next release, including a chat feature would be incredibly beneficial. We can comment back and forth under certain topics, however, being able to chat/instant message individually, per project, and company-wide would be helpful.
I've used the solution for approximately one year.
We are unsure of the stability as management has more knowledge in this department.
I have only been at the company a year. I am not sure what was used before.
I'm unsure how the setup went. Management has more knowledge in this department. However, setting up new boards and spaces is a bit complex even for me.
The setup is handled in-house.
I'm unsure of the ROI as management has more knowledge in this department.
I do not have much knowledge regarding pricing/setup/licensing as my company's management takes care of that, however, I imagine setting it up to be perfectly tailored to our company took some time.
I work in a fast-paced humanitarian space with a core focus on project and partner management.
The organization has a need for a platform that quickly processes information and shares updates on tasks and projects across a small size team (less than 30 people).
Monday.com has been most helpful for our task management and documentation of processes and achievements. By listing weekly tasks under specific project boards, these can be updated as progressed or completed, and linked to other boards and members of the team to monitor progress.
Monday.com has enabled my organization to get on top of both individual and collaborative project management-related duties. For example, I am able to effectively schedule key work plan milestones and provide updates for my managers/directors to view and comment on. Team members linked to specific tasks will also receive notifications when I update the status or add comments to a task.
We also use tools for shared task implementation so that team members can use the platform in the ideation phase to brainstorm or share updates on progress for development of a task. Tasks can be updated with short reports or links to reports on external platforms. We also document the submission dates or completion of key milestones, and this can be easily viewed using colour coding or changing to Kanban view.
One of the most valuable features is templates, and customizing templates or creating our own to match our flow. This has meant that we can have a standard way of documenting across the team and supports with an easy way of finding information.
I enjoy being able to switch between different views of a board, such as Gantt or Kanban, as this provides alternative ways of viewing tasks and managing workload. This also supports prioritization. I can easily see which tasks are outstanding, which are stuck, and which have been completed.
There are so many features and possibilities that I am not yet aware of or adept at using, which may be limiting my experience. To learn these, I need to spend more time exploring the site and tutorials on offer, however, time is often not a luxury I have. I have resorted to using the tool at the most simple level to list tasks and mark progress as I go. Therefore, I would say that the key limitation I face is that I don't find the tool to be fully intuitive as more time is required for me to learn how to use it optimally.
I've used the solution for almost one year.
There have been no issues with stability - the tool has proven to be solid, bug free and there hasn't been issues with loss of inputs as everything entered is automatically saved.
Monday.com has real potential to continue advancing and being a leader among the numerous tools available today.
We have not needed to reach out to live customer support.
Positive
Previously, we used shared spreadsheets and documents that would be uploaded to a server and then link shared via email. Monday.com provides a much more efficient process for sharing project updates.
I found it intuitive at a basic level to get started, however, once I wanted to link boards or increase functionality I realized I would need to seek support and/or watch tutorials to get the most out of it.
We implemented the solution with our in-house team.
I'm unsure if we have had any ROI.
The cost of the solution is reasonable.
No, we did not evaluate other options.
I'd advise others to consider whether it will be useful for your whole team. It is more beneficial when everyone can use it and access the shared boards to promote better monitoring, cross-learning, and teamwork.
I generally use this solution to manage my daily tasks by noting down each task and assigning the deadlines next to each. It also helps in adding the person who shall be responsible to finish the task.
The auto-reminder feature is something that I find very useful. It helps you remind your tasks as per the frequency of reminders set by you. You can even update the status of task completion status. It also helps me put a remark against each task and the points of action to be taken against them.
We are using this solution to manage our team activity. The best part of the solution is that it helps to organize the entire work activity of each department. This way, we can update our task status as well as can track the progress of the tasks assigned to teammates to track the overall departmental activity. This not only helps us keep up-to-date on the tasks assigned but it also helps us collate all the activities in one place.
Everything becomes very time efficient and the result is great productive results overall.
There are multiple features that are very useful. For example:
1. You can create a group of tasks and can write down sub-tasks under each task.
2. It also has a function wherein you can mention the name and email ID of the external person who is responsible to finish the task.
3. The auto-reminder feature is of great value. Even if I forget my daily tasks, it sends out an email reminding me to update the task status.
4. This acts as a modern digital diary for me to efficiently handle my activities.
There are many useful features already in the solution and, at regular intervals, they keep introducing new features. Generally, I don't have much to ask for, to be honest.
The mobile application of the solution can be improved by making it more user-friendly. The application is something that I am not able to utilize to its full extent due to its complexity.
To sum up, I would say it's one of the best task management solutions I have used so far. I hope they keep up the good work.
I have been using this platform for one year.
The solution is very stable. The continuous improvements are of great value.
I could scale this product. It's a ten out of ten. It's a very useful product.
I have not used any alternative solution in the past.
The setup was not that complex. It takes effort initially for a one-time setup.
An in-house team handled the product.
The ROI is impressive and invaluable.
The pricing is at a moderate level being not too high and not too cheap. It offers good value.
I have not evaluated any other options since I found this to be of the utmost value.
I'd like the company to improve the mobile application to some extent for iOS users.
We are a small engineering company and we use Monday to keep track of all of our projects. We will include information such as the client's name, project name, who is the project lead, the date received and date that its due back, what type of project it is, how we managed to get the project (via which type of marketing), the project value, quote numbers for the project, total value, etc. It ensures that we never miss a project, which otherwise is very easy to do.
It has enabled us to not only keep track of our extensive list of projects - it has allowed us to analyze which types of projects are most worth our time, which clients are likely to place the orders, etc., which has allowed us to become a lot more efficient and develop new business strategies based on the heaps of data we have of past projects.
Monday is very easy to use and is very user-friendly. I must say the most valuable feature is the export to Excel feature, where you can take an entire board or just sections of it and put the data in Excel. It's great for data analysis and also to present to your boss as the list of projects you've completed and which of these were won, etc.
Monday does everything we need it to do. It would be quite cool if it could connect to my Outlook calendar and put the project deadlines in there. I'm still trying to understand the automate feature, however, this looks very promising for efficiency.
We have been using Monday for just over three years.
Monday has the opportunity to be useful for a company with 10,000+ employees or even just one.
Monday has changed since we first started using it, however, the updates are automatic as it's a website-based solution.
The solution is very straightforward and not that time-consuming.
I'm unsure of the exact figure in terms of ROI.
Set-up costs are minimal with just an hour or two of labor to customize the board how you will like it.
I would make a note to future companies looking to use Monday to make use of all the people spots you have available. Even if you work on different teams and won't be using the main board, there will definitely be a type of board that will suit you.
We did not evaluate anything else. In fact, we weren't actively looking for Monday. We heard about it from word-of-mouth and couldn't believe we'd worked without it for years.
It's a great service and has quite competitive prices. It does exactly what we need it to do anymore.
We use it in our organization to list down and delegate tasks amongst team members.
We review the tasks allocated on a weekly basis every Monday. It helps in planning the project lifecycle systematically and effortlessly.
Further, the manager can tag the activities to different people, which helps share responsibilities so that the burden does not lay on one person.
Filtering the activities marked to employees helps to quantify the work distribution to different people and ensure there is an equal division of work.
The sub-tasks which form part of the head tasks help in effectively managing tasks. It helps to avoid missing any task, which is very efficient. I don't have to brief the manager about all the pending activities, which saves a lot of time and effort, the opportunity cost of which is high.
It also helps the manager keep track of ongoing work, which avoids the nagging and follow up and helps to go on with day-to-day activities. It helps allocate work and responsibility, further strengthening teamwork and spirit.
It helps to upload files online, which can be accessed by anyone on the team from anywhere, which removes the barriers of geographical boundaries. My manager can review my work from anywhere from the files uploaded, and the same can be seamlessly completed without actually needing to be at the same place at the same time.
The multi-task management aspect is great. It helps in remembering every task. Further, it provides a proper workflow of all the proposed activities in project management.
It efficiently helps achieve all targets within the set target, short-term or long-term. It helps to go completely digital and avoids the use of pen and paper, which helps declutter work life.
It helps in tracking expenses and managing them as well, which is another superb feature to help manage and further aim to reduce the same. The entire process flow right from proposal making to every document which is to be prepared and submitted is added to the system and we allocate the same to different people which helps in the allocation of work and responsibility.
The constant reminders are very distracting. It should be once on Monday itself and not constantly.
A walk-through should be provided for every new person enrolled, which should be initiated by the Monday.com team. A calendar invite for the same should be coordinated and organized.
It is user-friendly, however, there is still an initial dependency on the team members to understand the software.
There should be sessions organized with calendar invites which should be sent for every update to the system. If anyone misses attending the sessions, a summary of all the points covered should be sent out to everyone who is enrolled on the system.
There should be a helpdesk facility that helps in immediate query resolution. It should have actual people trying to identify and resolve issues and not a chatbox.
We've used the solution for the past seven months.
This is the first software used for this purpose.
I was not involved in the setup.
I was not involved in the setup.
We use Monday for a variety of reasons ranging from tracking progress on tasks to keeping our client list updated and segmented appropriately to managing agents and contacts.
Our most common use case of this solution is to help us analyze our product offerings by cross-examining our client base. By doing this, we can see our most popular products, our audience demographics, and which customers are most likely to be upsold to new products or services. Monday.com has revolutionized the way we work and what we offer.
Monday.com has made our company far more efficient and has saved on a lot of unnecessary chasing for updates. We simply check what tasks a user is allocated to and can see how they are progressing easily.
It has also made our lives much easier when it comes to tracking our customer journeys and analyzing our customers' purchases to help with future business development.
We are now able to work with more clarity and peace of mind. Our business is progressing and employees/agents are meeting all our goals.
We love to use the automation available on Monday.com. We have many different automations set up for different use cases. Our most effective one has been for sending a Slack notification to an employee/agent when they have been allocated to a task, board, or customer.
Other examples of automation include automatically creating items in a board when an email is received. While this automation is not perfect (as it doesn't extract information to name the task) it is very helpful when we come to make changes to the task.
We have always wanted to be able to perform a global search for a phone number. There is a facility to search for everything else yet not this. We have found a workaround for this, which is to add a customer's phone number to the notes section of their profile. Then, when we perform a global search for a phone number, we can choose to only see results by the content of any notes. This is not perfect, however, it is a solution.
As a company, we are really hoping they will add this feature soon. It is something that many businesses would really appreciate.
I've used the solution for around a year and a half.
We have only had a couple of issues with downtime, however, Monday.com is very transparent and allows users to track the progress of their repairs/remediation.
This is a very scalable solution for our business and we are nowhere near finding its limits.
The initial setup is very straightforward and intuitive. We were able to very quickly set up our first few boards with all the features we needed.
