Easy to use with excellent item and task tracking capabilities
Pros and Cons
  • "The features that I have found most valuable include the dashboards, forms, and item and task tracking."
  • "I am not sure how we would be able to function without using Monday.com on an every day basis."
  • "I would like to see more flexibility with sub-items as well as more customization of branding for dashboards and exported documents."
  • "I would like to see more flexibility with sub-items as well as more customization of branding for dashboards and exported documents."

What is our primary use case?

Our primary use for Monday.com is to help us with our project management and sales pipeline.

We use it to keep the various departments connected so that we know what work is coming in, being worked on, and being closed out.

We also use it to help us track the work the Marketing team is doing, both in terms of branding, document creation, and marketing campaigns.

We also use it in some instances to share documents with one another.

We are a small company and monday.com makes us feel very efficient.

How has it helped my organization?

Monday.com has improved our organization in that it enables us to stay on track and aligned on the current state of the business.

It gives us a clear view of what work we expect to come in through our sales pipeline.

It also enables us to assign clear roles and responsibilities for both incoming and ongoing work, from project managers to account managers and marketing to content development and delivery.

I am not sure how we would be able to function without using Monday.com on an every day basis.

What is most valuable?

The features that I have found most valuable include the dashboards, forms, and item and task tracking.

I appreciate the dashboards as they give me a high-level, 30,000-foot view of the current business and work that I have going on. It helps me understand the big picture so that I do not get stuck in the weeds.

I find the forms easy to use, easy to brand, and easy to collect data from internal and external stakeholders.

I love the item and task tracking capabilities because it keeps me on track.

What needs improvement?

I would like to see more flexibility with sub-items as well as more customization of branding for dashboards and exported documents. I would like to be able to do the same kinds of actions that you can do with regular items (i.e., move them, batch them, etc.) with the sub-items.

I would also love to be able to customize the look and aesthetics of the dashboards and exported documents so that I can share them directly with both internal and external stakeholders while giving them a branded experience.

GreatSlack integrations, helpful tagging, and very customizable
Pros and Cons
  • "I don't go on Monday every day so being notified through email and Slack is helpful."
  • "Monday.com helps us to allow for greater connectivity throughout the company and to better manage various projects both internally and externally."
  • "Monday, the service, can be improved with even greater integration and configuration."
  • "Monday, the service, can be improved with even greater integration and configuration."

What is our primary use case?

My company is a publishing company. We use it for various different reasons. For example, Monday.com helps us to allow for greater connectivity throughout the company and to better manage various projects both internally and externally.

It allows team members to create different teams and is perfect for the case of project management.

Team members know who is working on what and when the assignment is due. It's also great in terms of tagging other team members for updates, comments, and links as well.

How has it helped my organization?

Monday has improved the company through its integration features. For example, being able to manage various teams and projects within the company. Team members know who is working on what and when the assignment is due.

It's also great in terms of tagging other team members for updates, comments, and links as well. In addition, Monday has Slack integration which helps to notify me or other team members when they are tagged or if there's an update which is a really great feature. I don't go on Monday every day so being notified through email and Slack is helpful.

What is most valuable?

The features I have found most valuable include the Slack integration which helps to notify myself or other team members when they are tagged or if there's an update which is a really great feature. I don't go on Monday every day so being notified through email and Slack is helpful.

Another feature is how customizable it is for our teams which allows for greater creativity. One of the things that is especially valuable is the status updates and the options available for those.

One last feature I like is the fact it's allowing the use of Google links/Google Drive.

What needs improvement?

Monday, the service, can be improved with even greater integration and configuration. It would be great to get company-specific features depending on the specialty of the company. For example "technology, small business, publisher" etc.

Another feature that would be beneficial is a Google Calendar integration. It would be great if due dates can be added to the calendars of specific team members. This would help to keep team members on top of projects, especially if the individual does not go on Monday every day.

For how long have I used the solution?

My company and I have been using this product since the beginning of 2021. It's been a great service so far and we are constantly figuring out new ways to use and improve how it integrates into our company.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

It's a very stable solution that has allowed for proper management of teams and projects.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

My company and I have an overall good impression of the scalability as it has been extremely helpful.

How are customer service and support?

We've never had any issues and customer service and support has been overall satisfactory.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Positive

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

We never switched, this is our first service.

How was the initial setup?

The setup was a bit complex as the company was still navigating exactly what we needed to utilize it for. We are constantly adding more ways to use Monday as the company and teams grow.

What about the implementation team?

We implemented it through an in-house advisor.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

We normally advise the setup cost, pricing, and/or licensing will be very company-specific.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

No, we did not. This was our first option.

Which deployment model are you using for this solution?

Private Cloud

If public cloud, private cloud, or hybrid cloud, which cloud provider do you use?

Great search functionality, helpful integrations, and excellent flexibility
Pros and Cons
  • "The flexibility to create any sort of format has been very valuable."
  • "Monday.com is our centralized location for managing all projects, to-dos, and tasks, as well as for managing a cooperative team."
  • "If there was a way for Monday.com to take over, or interface with, my inbox, such that my email messages became associated with a particular task, group, or board, that would be incredibly useful."
  • "My issue is with learning about and taking advantage of existing features."

What is our primary use case?

We use the product for tracking clients, client sales progress, legal matters, tasks, and subtasks, and also as a repository for certain key deal documents or links to those documents.

It's very useful to store all the key background files (existing docs, term sheet, structure chart, list of parties, and their contact information) in a group that is easily accessible every time the matter-specific board is open.

I've also used it as a common dashboard shared with clients so they can monitor progress without having to call or email me.

How has it helped my organization?

Monday.com is our centralized location for managing all projects, to-dos, and tasks, as well as for managing a cooperative team.

It helps our attorneys keep an eye on all relevant parts of a project, from both a high level and in-depth details on specific pieces.

It is far superior to digging through lengthy email chains that are not associated with a particular piece of a transaction other than through its content.

It has helped us reduce our email usage. And as a centralized system, it helps reduce time wasted on searching or reinventing the wheel.

What is most valuable?

The flexibility to create any sort of format has been very valuable. That the platform can be adapted for each specific use. The communications piece with other users is also critical, as it allows for task-specific communication that gets stored in a history associated with the appropriate item.

The search function, to identify all tasks that are assigned to a specific person, is critical for staying on top of issues.

The integrations are a useful aspect that will continue to be key for Monday.com to become an increasingly integrated and permanent part of the work tool ecosystem.

What needs improvement?

My issue is with learning about and taking advantage of, existing features.  Perhaps they need a system that suggests features and offers quick tutorials. I primarily use the basic functions of Monday.com - groups, tasks, lists, due dates, searching, and file uploading.

If there was a way for Monday.com to take over, or interface with, my inbox, such that my email messages became associated with a particular task, group, or board, that would be incredibly useful.

I also would be interested in a mode designed for parties in opposition (e.g., opposing counsel) to work from the same board while staying synced to some degree with items from other boards.

For how long have I used the solution?

I've used the solution for two years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

I've never had a problem with stability.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

When the number of matters and clients goes way up, a "flat folder" system of listing all boards/folders seems unwieldy and not useful. That said, Monday.com has not had an issue on the technical side with too much content.

How are customer service and support?

They offer excellent customer service and support. The team is responsive to feature requests as well.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

We did not use a different solution previously.

How was the initial setup?

It's very simple to set up. That said, thinking about and developing a template took a lot of time and thought.

What about the implementation team?

It's my understanding that we used a vendor team.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

This was set up at my firm before I joined, so my involvement was minimal.  However, make sure you have priced enough licenses for all your users, including assistants, paralegals, techs, etc.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

We did not look into other options.

Nice design with helpful dashboards and good templates
Pros and Cons
  • "There are many templates to choose from when you are creating your first board."
  • "Monday is one of the most efficient apps I've used."
  • "Maybe they could improve a bit more on how to connect with other apps - especially for CRMs like Hubspot."
  • "Maybe they could improve a bit more on how to connect with other apps - especially for CRMs like Hubspot."

What is our primary use case?

I use Monday for multiple things daily including organizing my sales, organizing events at jobs, etc.

I work at a furniture company and we have everything on Monday. Basically, to put a production order from customers, we assign boards where we put all the details of that order. Then in the factory, with that same board and with all the information that we provide, they create the product. And then we can see how they are progressing through the production stages. For sales, we can see how much was sold per month, and by the same means, boards are organized to see which customers were sold to. It is a more organized system.

How has it helped my organization?

Monday is a platform that we use every day. I can say that it has helped improve the performance of my team. The most important thing is to maintain order, especially if you are in the sales area. We want to keep track of how much was sold per month and to whom it was sold. This helps track that.

Also, this helps each sales representative to keep their own control and know how much commissions they are going to get for the month. Since we account for everything on Monday, this keeps the team motivated. The sales reps can see how much commissions they have earned for the month and that drives them to want to keep selling more. That's why I feel this platform is a powerful tool. We also have boards where we measure KPIs.

What is most valuable?

The best thing about Monday.com's dashboards is that they are customizable. People have their own preferences when it comes to visualization. Some like Gantt charts or timeline-based tracking dashboards.

Also, the design of the platform is nice and clean, it's pretty to look at doesn't look busy, and makes you want to work on it. It is an easy-to-use, user-friendly, and has a customizable interface.

Also, there are many templates to choose from when you are creating your first board. People can inform each other about what they are working on and where they are in the project. In addition, communication, collaboration, and analysis features allow users to stay on top of their projects.

What needs improvement?

The program has enough. Maybe they could improve a bit more on how to connect with other apps - especially for CRMs like Hubspot. Monday already has a little bit of everything, however, if it could connect with other platforms it would be even more powerful. The automation that Monday includes are good, however, they should add more. Maybe they need to include spaces where everyone can keep their day-to-day journal. This would be especially useful for project managers.

In general, Monday is already a super complete app that has everything and they can make integrations with other applications that would be ideal.

For how long have I used the solution?

I've used the solution for about a year and a half.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

I am very impressed with the stability. Monday is a platform that I will be using for a long time to come.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

I have been very satisfied with the scalability using this platform.

How are customer service and support?

Technical support is great! They answered all of my questuons.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Positive

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

Monday is the first app solution I've used.

What was our ROI?

We've seen an ROI of around 60%.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

Paying Monday, in the end, is for the benefit of a company. It is worth it, especially for medium-sized companies that want to start organizing themselves.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

We only looked at one other option, Asana.

What other advice do I have?

Monday is one of the most efficient apps I've used.

Reasonably priced with helpful integrations and great automation
Pros and Cons
  • "The customization ability of Monday is unmatched."
  • "With the ability to stay organized with Monday.com we have been able to grow our company from four members to ten in the past year and are continually adding more and more clients by the day."
  • "We need the product to keep adding automation - specifically more subitem automation."
  • "We need the product to keep adding automation - specifically more subitem automation."

What is our primary use case?

We primarily use Monday.com as a CRM for our digital marketing agency. Utilizing automation and integrations is key to our success. With Monday.com we take in orders and break them out into their individual campaigns and disperse creativity and instructions to our entire team within minutes.

We are also able to keep track of things like campaign timelines and any updates to campaigns and of course we are able to follow our budgets in order to make sure we are spending the correct amount of money for our clients.

How has it helped my organization?

The customization ability of Monday is unmatched. The service is so user-friendly to make what your company needs a reality is as easy as 1.2.3.

With the ability to stay organized with Monday.com we have been able to grow our company from four members to ten in the past year and are continually adding more and more clients by the day. With the time we save using Monday.com we are able to triple our efforts for our clients making it that much more likely for us to gain and keep business.

What is most valuable?

Integrations and automation make it easy for us to get notified and key on top of our heavy workflow. With integrations and automation, we can notify a whole team when campaigns need changes or sales reps when we need client information.

We are also able to make the workflow work for us so we can track all parts of the campaign's lifecycle from infancy to completion.

Monday's integrations and automation make it so the company can work efficiently and on time to maximize our returns and gain new customers.

What needs improvement?

We need the product to keep adding automation - specifically more subitem automation. Subitems have been becoming a valuable commodity for us in helping keep track of all the different parts of our digital campaigns. However, there are only a few options when it comes to subitem automation and integrations.

I would like to see more ability for subitems and main items to work together. It can be a little frustrating to have to work with the main items so much when the proper details are in the subitems.

For how long have I used the solution?

I've been using the solution for four years.

How are customer service and support?

Technical support has been super helpful.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Positive

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

We had no previous solution.

How was the initial setup?

The initial setup was complex, however, it was mostly due to learning the system and having exact needs that weren't (but now are) available.

What about the implementation team?

Our in-house team set it up.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

The set-up is a little tedious, however, it is worth it. There's tons of material and helpful information out there so make sure to read through it all first. The pricing is very fair, especially for smaller companies like ours.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

We looked into Zoho and TigerLRM.

Easy to use, provides a single source of truth, and has helpful task views
Pros and Cons
  • "Since the tool is so easy to use, our team members can all learn it quickly and create new boards, projects, tasks, and views easily."
  • "Monday.com has helped us project manage and makes visibility across all teams easy."
  • "I wish there were better notifications and dashboard views with analytics around the status of projects, etc."
  • "We've tried to use the marketing analytics and some of the integrations to pull outside data in, but they've never worked well."

What is our primary use case?

I run a ten-person venture-backed startup. Monday.com has helped us project manage and makes visibility across all teams easy. We plan all of our projects and our six-month company level plan on Monday.com, including engineering, supply chain, marketing, CX, admin, finance, legal, etc.

How has it helped my organization?

We have a single source of truth for the status of all projects so we don't have to ask each other for updates manually.

Since the tool is so easy to use, our team members can all learn it quickly and create new boards, projects, tasks, and views easily. We also use Monday.com to onboard new employees and track the onboarding tasks, which makes it easy for new employees to learn the tool and get used to using it to track their work.

We've tried using it for marketing KPIs and other integrations. However, we have been less successful there.

What is most valuable?

We most heavily use the task views - including boards, groups of projects, tasks with various metadata (details, documents linked, assignments, due dates, status, etc), and then use a few views like the Gantt chart and the timeline views.

Those have been extremely helpful for us as we are juggling many projects as a tiny team of ten. We also have several cross-functional dependencies - a delay on one team causes a delay for others as well, and we need everyone to have visibility into that. That makes communication much easier.

What needs improvement?

I wish there were better notifications and dashboard views with analytics around the status of projects, etc.

We've tried to use the marketing analytics and some of the integrations to pull outside data in, but they've never worked well. It's hard to create views of data on Monday.com

I also wish there were better logic tools, I want to be able to conditionally color certain columns based on if/then statements or values in other columns. It would be helpful to create a Slack notification based on upcoming due dates and to be able to customize the time delay and channel.

For how long have I used the solution?

I've used the solution for over a year.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

The product has a great SLA.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

The solution is highly scalable.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

We previously used Asana and Trello. We needed a more easy-to-use tool.

How was the initial setup?

The initial setup was straightforward.

What about the implementation team?

We handled the setup in-house.

What was our ROI?

The ROI has been moderate.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

Monday.com is cheaper to start than most other tools, however, the pricing sneaks up on you.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

We did not evaluate other solutions.

Enables our customers to manipulate the dates that a project will be worked so I am always up to date with delays in our projects
Pros and Cons
  • "All of the features are valuable. Especially, creating tickets for projects and assigning workers. Having trackable conversations and archive items for reference. We offer our customers a live update of their project by sharing a board directly with them. This allows them to comment or submit documents directly to Monday.com."
  • "Before Monday.com we used to write our schedule on a whiteboard and use an Outlook calendar, and looking back now, I don't know how we did it and we would never go back because we are now organized across our company and offer our customers a live update of their project by sharing a board directly with them."
  • "Service being down happens to often. They need to create a desktop version that stores the info locally so that when their servers are down, I can keep working and accessing my data. Then it could be uploaded when their servers are online."
  • "Service being down happens too often. They need to create a desktop version that stores the info locally so that when their servers are down, I can keep working and accessing my data."

What is our primary use case?

We use Monday.com to manage our projects as a construction company. We also use it to keep track of many things, such as employees and their safety certificates. We generate emails based on data in the projects. We schedule safety meetings and generate emails automatically. I have multiple boards for the same projects. One is for our orders, one is for a site overview and one we share with our customers. We have a service schedule that automatically generates a covid-19 form that the homeowner can fill out and submit directly to Monday.com

How has it helped my organization?

Before Monday.com we used to write our schedule on a whiteboard and use an Outlook calendar. Looking back now, I don't know how we did it. We would never go back. We are now organized across our company. There is accountability now since all conversations are recorded on our items. We offer our customers a live update of their project by sharing a board directly with them. This allows them to comment or submit documents directly to Monday.com. We do the same with some of our contractors. They have the ability to manipulate the dates the project will be worked on and I set it so I get a notification if the date is changed, so I am always up to date with delays in our projects.

What is most valuable?

All of the features are valuable. Especially, creating tickets for projects and assigning workers. Having trackable conversations and archive items for reference. We offer our customers a live update of their project by sharing a board directly with them. This allows them to comment or submit documents directly to Monday.com. We do the same with some of our contractors. They have the ability to manipulate the dates that the project will be worked on and I set it so I get a notification if the date is changed, so I am always up to date with delays in our projects.

What needs improvement?

Service being down happens to often. They need to create a desktop version that stores the info locally so that when their servers are down, I can keep working and accessing my data. Then it could be uploaded when their servers are online.

I would like to also see improvements to the map and phone number columns. I think Monday.com is based out of the UK. When entering locations, it always suggests addresses not in our country. When adding phone numbers, it doesn't recognize some area code and it enters it as if it was a European number.

For how long have I used the solution?

We have been using Monday.com since September 2021.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

For the most part, Monday.com is stable and works great, but when its servers are down, it can be a nightmare for us here at the office. I am really left in the dark and we don't have a backup. We depend on the Monday.com schedule. I think this needs to be addressed and I've already voiced my concerns with Monday.com.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

I feel that Monday.com would be able to grow with our company. If we doubled in size then I am confident that Monday.com would still get the job done for us.

How are customer service and support?

Support is very quick and helpful. They have address all my concerns in a timely manner. They send videos that they create specifically for your concern and it helps.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Positive

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

We used Outlook calendar before and it was lacking in so many ways. It only fulfilled the scheduling aspect and did not give us options to organize other areas of our company.

How was the initial setup?

It is complex to start up. Luckily, I grasped it well and ran with it. I have since, been in charge of the maintenance of Monday.com.

What about the implementation team?

I set up Monday.com myself using the tutorial they have on their website. Mostly through trial and error. I seem to have it set up exactly how we like it. Monday.com is very versatile so the options are endless which can make it daunting at first. I would suggest building the boards, keeping them simple and tweaking them as needed until you find the best way to display your info.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

It's worth the cost depending on the size of your company. We have a pro plan and use most features for our company. The automations are key for us and the size of our company, the Pro plan makes sense.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

I was referred by my sister, Michelle Kapila. She used Monday.com and showed me when I was hunting for a new service. I don't remember the other platforms that were options to switch to. Once I found Monday.com, I never looked back.

What other advice do I have?

I recommend Monday.com for those stuck using white boards/paper schedules. Since having Monday.com, I've seen the lack of organization in companies we deal with and how Monday.com would help them so much.

Which deployment model are you using for this solution?

Customizable with great pulse updates and helpful automation
Pros and Cons
  • "The reminder function and tagging function work really well."
  • "The customized automation feature that was recently added is a huge game-changer."
  • "The solution shouldn't let the system directly pull out Outlook (the Windows default mail system) whenever we click on an email address."
  • "The solution shouldn't let the system directly pull out Outlook (the Windows default mail system) whenever we click on an email address."

What is our primary use case?

The product is a platform for all employees to share their:

  1. email updates (pulse update from Gmail)
  2. personal updates (write down findings)
  3. files and information of a case in each site we manage.

They can also automize some routine admin tasks.

Emails to our contractors are stored in an individual's Gmail account, by updating to Monday, we know what is going on in each case from the different correspondence of different employees.

We use email integration to send out auto emails to chase up a report/document/response which we receive on a regular basis.

How has it helped my organization?

We no longer have to type things down in a shared excel spreadsheet where the formats and presentation are not so likeable.

It also helped us better keep track of cases/items.

The reminder function and tagging function work really well. Things won't be left unattended.

The email integration and the new file section in the item is a day-to-day feature we use.

Every employee can write down the contractors contract details, the phone numbers and email address are no longer just stored on a person's phone.

What is most valuable?

People not added to our Monday account can also use pulse updates now. We used to manually forward other people's responses to the item.

Files can let us view all the files in one item. Sometimes files are not uploaded to infobox, so files on Monday are a good way to find it.

Groups in a board is also valuable. I have closed cases and in-progress cases. Whenver a case is closed, the automation moves it to the close section so that I don't have to worry about it anymore.

The customized automation feature that was recently added is a huge game-changer. We can tailor what we need in each board now.

What needs improvement?

They should maybe add a filter feature in files in the item filter: .jpg, .pdf, .doc. (different files). It may be helpful to combine or flag duplicate file names.

The solution shouldn't let the system directly pull out Outlook (the Windows default mail system) whenever we click on an email address. Both in the column and in the update context. We're not sure if this is a Monday issue or a Window setting issue.

Custom Automations should have more customized options. For example, when a date changes. Not all the features in the automation are brought into the Custom Automation, however, I'm not able to name all of them.

For how long have I used the solution?

I've been using the solution since April 2020.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

Stability is pretty good. An outage is rare.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

Scalability is good and you can always change plans.

If your company expands and need more to register more people to the system, it's easy to change user plans from the website.

The scalability of Email Integration features is also fascinating, we once sent a batch email to 70 contractors, and it was sent within a second.

How are customer service and support?

Technical support responds very quickly.

Sometimes I asked a question they couldn't solve and don't have a solution yet. They really take the time and effort to understand what the real problem is and are really honest about the lack of some features. However, they will bring back suggestions to the dev team.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Positive

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

We were only using a shared Google Drive Sheet for everyone.

How was the initial setup?

Moving from the Excel sheet to Monday took us about two weeks of manual transfering

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

We tell others it's about $2200 for a ten-person plan and it can be adjusted; it's easy to scale.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

We did compare Asana and Monday.com.

Disclosure: My company does not have a business relationship with this vendor other than being a customer.
