Great forms, helpful data collection capabilities, and makes tracking simple
Pros and Cons
  • "It saves me from having to interrupt my team to get simple answers I can look for myself."
  • "I'm unclear about the notifications feature in that I receive way too many emails."

What is our primary use case?

We use Monday.com to track training project status, project, and deliverable timelines, resources, updates, and assign work.

We also use it to track training completions (through forms) and requests for support (through forms).

My team also uses it for personal task tracking, team task tracking, sharing of accomplishments, and dashboard summaries. We are a learning team and finding new ways of using the tool all the time. It is a helpful tool to communicate with people outside our group so they can quickly find status updates as guests.

How has it helped my organization?

Monday.com has allowed me as a manager to stay up-to-date on team training project status and get real-time updates about issues. It saves me from having to interrupt my team to get simple answers I can look for myself.

We are able to be more organized as we use it to organize our training schedule and coordinate our communication launches and quarterly planning schedules.

Monday.com makes it easy to understand the new features and so they are easy to implement so we find new uses for it all the time. The visual nature of the boards makes them easy to understand.

What is most valuable?

I really like the forms option. It allows us to collect the information we need from our customers upfront without having to speak with them first and it makes the process more efficient. Once the form is completed, the information automatically compiles into a board making the assignment of tasks very easy.

We have also been able to use the form option to track self-paced learning course completions for smaller projects to ensure the required people are completing their training.

It also works well for data collection.

What needs improvement?

I wish that you could have different columns for each of the groups on one board.

I wish that you could turn off the sub-item menu if you accidentally enabled it.

I'm unclear about the notifications feature in that I receive way too many emails.

I've had requests for once an item is created that it duplicates on another board and automatic updates to both items if they are linked.

I really like, however, how new features are sent out all the time so I can slowly learn more and more.

Good task management and timeline features with easy task monitoring capabilities
Pros and Cons
  • "The date, timeline, and task management features are great."
  • "The Graphic User Interface (GUI) needs improvement."

What is our primary use case?

We are using Monday.com to manage our projects and tasks. It gives us more ways to handle and see the overview of the projects/tasks. It helps us to track each task assigned to my colleagues.

We also can depend on Monday.com because we have all our needs on it. Before we used to have to send files via email or USB. Now we have Monday.com and we can all share our data and information via the app.

We are also using Monday.com to reach our deadlines and accomplish everything on time without any delay.

How has it helped my organization?

We improved a lot. We are now organized in all of our tasks and schedules. It helps us to be more professional in our work. Every task will be monitored well. Our bosses can now see all our tasks without asking us personally. By use of Monday.com, we can track the tasks and projects we are assigned and we are able to accomplish every single task on time.

We really enjoy using Monday.com now. It helps us as a company to really get organized and manage all our workloads by using only one single app.

What is most valuable?

The date, timeline, and task management features are great. They are really useful to track every project we made and we are able to work on time without any delay.

We are using the date to put the deadline date of each task we are assigned to.

We use timeline to keep us on track of how many hours or days we need to accomplish tasks or a project.

Task management helps us to easily manage our time and tasks and keep us up to date on all the tasks they assigned to us. Also, the sub-item functions also help us to dissect each task that we have.

What needs improvement?

The Graphic User Interface (GUI) needs improvement. Sometimes it is hard to manage the GUI of the Monday.com. We are getting confused about the menus, and other functionalities as well.

For the 3rd party apps, it would be perfect if we will have a connection for some 3rd party apps like Facebook Ads or Google Ads. Something to help us manage these apps on Monday.com will be perfectly awesome. Also, they need to add a function where we can save a template of a group. We are always duplicating a group and we don't want to include any updates and comments.

For how long have I used the solution?

I've been using this software for two years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

The stability is very impressive and our files are secured 100%.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

The solution is the perfect fit for our work related needs.

How are customer service and support?

We haven't talked to the customer service and support. You just need to learn and get used to using this tool and you will be fine.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Positive

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

This is the first solution we used.

How was the initial setup?

The setup is complex but not too complex.

What about the implementation team?

We implemented the solution in-house.

What was our ROI?

We've seen ROI in self gained and self-improvement KPIs. It helps us to work efficiently and well.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

I'd advise users it's better to use the standard package first to check it out if it's for first-time use. You can always upgrade to an enterprise package, which will give you more services.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

We also looked at Zoho solutions.

What other advice do I have?

This is the best task/CRM solution we ever had. It's the best tool for any startup company to get used to it. It is 100000% not a waste of money.

Which deployment model are you using for this solution?

On-premises

Easy to set up and offers a good project overview but needs templates
Pros and Cons
  • "The initial setup is easy."
  • "The solution really needs to offer templates."

What is our primary use case?

It's a basic system for me to keep tracking what is happening in my project at a high level. If I don't know and want to go in deep and check exactly what is happening, I use Monday as an overall picture for my monthly projects, let's say.

What is most valuable?

It's great for providing a general overview of projects in one snapshot.

The initial setup is easy.

It's quite a stable product.

What needs improvement?

Monday has a lot of space, let's say, for improvement. Especially when you create a new board. The board is like a new project; it's called "board". When you create a new board, you add everything manually. It doesn't come with a template by default. If you want to change the status of your task, you should change it manually. Even changing the date is manual. If you have an update on the project, or if the project closed or went away, all the dates are added manually. This is time-consuming if you are comparing it with Jira. In Jira, when you open a task, the date is read automatically, which is easier. On Monday I need to add it manually.

The solution really needs to offer templates. That would be very helpful.

I'd like to be able to add different panels under the same project. For example, at the moment I can create groups, which is fine, however, all of them include the same columns. I cannot have them in group one, five columns, and in group two, three columns due to the fact that it's under the same project, under the same board.

For how long have I used the solution?

I've used Monday only for the last couple of months. It's been four or five months now.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

The product has been stable. There are no bugs or glitches. It doesn't crash or freeze. It's reliable.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

We have about 15 people on our team using the solution.

How are customer service and support?

I've never had the need to contact Monday's technical support team and therefore cannot comment on how they are to deal with.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

I also work with Jira.

How was the initial setup?

I found the initial setup to be simple and straightforward. It's easy. It's not complex.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

My understanding is that it is open-source. There is a standard installation fee, however, in regards to users, it's free.

What other advice do I have?

I'm not sure of which version of the solution I'm using.

I'd advise a new user to try to create a few projects as an example before you create a real one. It's a little bit complicated and I'm not aware if there's a manual to read or find out how to properly do the setup of a project. If a new user tries to create a few examples before they start, it will help them get comfortable with Monday.

I would rate the solution six out of ten. I'm always comparing. Monday and Jira are both for project management solutions. Comparing it with Jira, Monday doesn't have as many features or abilities. It's a very basic program. You cannot create Casper flows or create automated approval or check the availability of your team based on your resources. It gives you an overall picture, the high-level picture, of your tasks and that is basically it.

Stable; lets you set up projects quickly
Pros and Cons
  • "Performance has been good. Stability has been good."
  • "It could have a few more features when it comes to managing projects."

What is our primary use case?

Our use case is tracking tasks within a project.

How has it helped my organization?

It has exposed people to tracking tasks in a software solution versus on paper or in Excel. It provided for automatic reminders, like a tickler file. It provided dashboards for executives so they could look at a quick snapshot of the status of a project and the necessary security to only have certain people have access to it.

What is most valuable?

What I've found the most valuable is that you can set up a project quickly and track and retract information very easily.

What needs improvement?

It would be great to see additional automation rules and have varied fields per subcategory.

It could have a few more features when it comes to managing projects.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using monday.com for a couple of years probably.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

Performance has been good. Stability has been good. I haven't lost any data, which is fine.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

I assume it is very scalable. I have not run into any limitations. We have about 70 users across different departments.

How are customer service and support?

I think they respond pretty promptly. If I remember correctly, they have 24/7 support and you can get an answer or get in touch fairly quickly.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

The company was not using anything previously but I use Microsoft Project. I introduced monday.com in our organization because I needed a solution that would be readily accepted. People will hesitate to use anything complex.

How was the initial setup?

The initial setup was pretty straightforward.

What about the implementation team?

We deployed in-house. Deployment took about 20 minutes.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

Just evaluate it and try not to compare it to higher end products that will cost you a lot more money.

Which deployment model are you using for this solution?

Public Cloud

If public cloud, private cloud, or hybrid cloud, which cloud provider do you use?

A stable product that ensures better team coordination and better project management in an organization
Pros and Cons
  • "The product's initial setup phase was straightforward."
  • "Though it offers full customizability, the table is an area where the product's performance is not quite up to the mark."

What is our primary use case?

I use monday.com in my company for work management, project management, and task management.

How has it helped my organization?

With the use of the tool in our organization, we have had a good experience with better team coordination and better project management, but one cannot modify it.

What is most valuable?

Though the product's interface is quite simple, it lacks some functionalities. There are some automation areas that work quite well in the solution, but the product lacks in certain items when it comes to implementation.

What needs improvement?

Mostly, the sub-items in the organization of the project are areas where improvements are needed. Though it offers full customizability, the table is an area where the product's performance is not quite up to the mark. From any improvement perspective, the solution should consider the aforementioned areas where it lacks.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have experience with monday.com. I use the solution's latest version since it is a SaaS-based product.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

Scalability-wise, I rate the solution a nine out of ten.

More than 200 people in my company use the solution.

Our company has plans to increase the usage of the solution in the future.

How was the initial setup?

The product's initial setup phase was straightforward.

The solution is deployed on the cloud.

The solution is always ready to use since it is available in the cloud, but you need a week or two to get the product working correctly.

For the deployment, you mostly create your team and invite people, and you complete the templates and dashboard. The longest part of the deployment is related to the dashboard, as you need to customize the dashboard to your needs.

At least two people with technical knowledge are required to take care of the deployment and maintenance of the product, but as it is a user-friendly tool, anyone can manage it.

What about the implementation team?

Our company's in-house team managed the product's installation.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

Though I am unsure about the product's pricing plan, there is a need to make monthly payments towards the licensing costs attached to the solution, and it operates on a per-user plan.

What other advice do I have?

Those who plan to use the solution should take time to dive deep, test, and try to customize the product to meet their needs.

I rate the overall product a nine out of ten.

Very straightforward with a clean interface and helpful automation
Pros and Cons
  • "I love the ability to communicate within the app itself by leaving comments."
  • "For others who have more varied assignments, some of which require collaboration with other team members, they might find Monday insufficient."

What is our primary use case?

We primarily use the solution for receiving task assignments. As one of my team's content writers, we deal with plenty of assignments each month, and monitoring our own tasks is made easier with Monday.com. Monday simplifies the flow of tasks, starting from the content assignment, completion, and submission reviews, to publications.

Through Monday, it's easier to monitor where we are in each assignment. We could monitor the overall progress in one quick glance and see where the delay is happening. We could easily identify what stage someone is stuck in and address issues promptly.

How has it helped my organization?

Assigning tasks is automated, making the jobs of our project managers easier.

The interface of the platform is clean and simple. As a content writer, I can see all the important details, particularly the deadlines, at a glance. This is a very important feature for someone who struggles with organization.

Everything about Monday.com is straightforward. I have used other task management apps over the years and so far this is my favorite.

We've been using it since its Dapulse days, and we never switched, which reflects our contentment.

What is most valuable?

My absolute favorite is the ability to filter assignments. Since there are other writers in the team, filtering by person lets me see easily which ones are mine, and I could also sort them out based on urgency.

It's quite easy to accidentally click on someone else's assignment and work on it, but with this feature, that accident can be avoided. In other apps, the focus is personal boards with lots of subtasks within, which I find unappealing.

I also love the ability to communicate within the app itself by leaving comments.

What needs improvement?

Honestly, it's perfect so far. It has the simplistic, spreadsheet vibe which I love. I can't think of anything major that I want to be changed or at least I find Monday more than enough for our team's needs.

For others who have more varied assignments, some of which require collaboration with other team members, they might find Monday insufficient.

They're also a bit lacking in the reporting department, which isn't a big deal for us, however, it might be for other users who have more rigorous protocols when it comes to tracking.

I also wish that subscription costs are a bit cheaper.

For how long have I used the solution?

I've used the solution for about three to four years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

I see they're coming up with new improvements all the time which is a good sign stability-wise.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

They should try to drive the cost down to onboard more users.

How are customer service and support?

We haven't tried to reach out to technical support.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Neutral

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

No. We started using Monday since it was Dapulse and never tried anything else.

How was the initial setup?

It's pretty straightforward and doesn't require a real tech genius to set it up.

What about the implementation team?

We used the solution in-house.

What was our ROI?

ROI has increased since using Monday.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

I recommend Monday to small and medium companies.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

Not here in my current team. In my previous organizations, I have tried Asana and Trello.

Which deployment model are you using for this solution?

Private Cloud

If public cloud, private cloud, or hybrid cloud, which cloud provider do you use?

Great board system with good automation and helpful organization features
Pros and Cons
  • "The automation process is one of the best."
  • "Now, we are using a cloud option and then we send the link on Monday to the other team members. It was too slow and with some bugs sometimes."

What is our primary use case?

Before all of our tasks were sent by email and each employee took care of their own tasks and deadlines. This process was confusing as we had a huge amount of emails between the team.

After the Monday.com implementation, we had an increase in productivity. All the employees reduced their time micromanaging all the tasks they were doing and had a platform already set up with automation to make the job easier and also the workflow between team members.

Also, the organization of projects and being able to create boards for each project and have the team involved in this project and able to track down the process of everyone is a positive outcome.

How has it helped my organization?

All of our tasks and projects are on Monday.com.

This was the best solution we found in the market. We did a long search and did a lot of tests to choose Monday.com as our best option.

The board system changes how we organize and execute our projects. After using Monday we saw gaps to improve on how we were executing the projects. We have team members in different countries having all in Monday is a perfect intersection point for all team members to collaborate with the project they are involved with.

What is most valuable?

The automation process is one of the best. We can organize the workflow through different employees, and after they finishes with the task and updating the thread this goes automatically to a different team member making the project flowing more smoothly.

The new pages feature also was a big one that all the team is using now. Having all of this features on computer, phone, or tablet makes to keep track even if you are out of the office because any reason. It made the team more put together and involved in the projects.

What needs improvement?

I loved the new feature of the page document inside Monday.com. The only one that we don't use as much is uploading the files to be accessed on Monday.

Now, we are using a cloud option and then we send the link on Monday to the other team members. It was too slow and with some bugs sometimes. We had to download a simple image to see it instead be able to check directly on Monday (the bug was that the image didn't appear when enlarged). Having a different section just with the functionality as a cloud service so you can organize and see the files better would be great.

For how long have I used the solution?

I've used the solution for two years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

Stability is amazing. We had only two or three days where it wasn't working just for a few hours. Two of those days were updates on their end. And other was an issue, they provided a link to follow up what happened and where the problems where located on the platform

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

I know they can improve a lot and hopefully will continue creating more tools like any other cloud solution.

How are customer service and support?

So far we didn't have to use technical support too much, however, it was ok.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Neutral

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

We used Trello. We changed it as it was too simple.

How was the initial setup?

The setup was straightforward.

What about the implementation team?

The implementation was with a vendor partly, which was pretty good, however, we practically did it ourselves.

What was our ROI?

Quality/time executing the project has been a positive ROI for us.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

Knowing your needs is the main thing. That way you can select the best option. Don't go cheap if will give more trouble for your team/project.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

We also looked at Asana, Smartsheet, and Hubspot.

Which deployment model are you using for this solution?

Great UX, helpful collaboration tools, and excellent color tagging capabilities
Pros and Cons
  • "I love how we can color coordinate between statuses and how statuses jump into their respective groups automatically once chosen."
  • "It would be ideal if Monday.com had this feature within itself, for example, if an input PDF or image was within it, then with one click the person can review it within Monday.com without going to different software."

What is our primary use case?

We use the solution for marketing and creative project management.

As a marketing manager, we brief on tasks within Monday.com including all details of the project, such as vertical, status, delivery date, etc. Our traffic manager assigns tasks based on the studio team's availability and priority.

Mainly, Monday.com is the main tool for our traffic manager to manage a variety of tasks between marketing managers and creatives.

Once assigned, we can track who the assigned person is and then track the process. It is a very useful tool for tracking things.

How has it helped my organization?

It made the collaboration between marketing and creative studio teams much neater and seamless.

Previously, we've used normal Google Sheets. In the beginning, it was manageable. However, once our projects became bigger (alongside the employee count), it became hard to manage between lots of sheets. Then Monday.com came in and it's pretty much a super clear tool to streamline all project collaboration between marketing managers and studio.

Also, as we can sync Monday.com with our Slack or an email, it's nice to get notifications on how our project is moving.

What is most valuable?

I love how we can color coordinate between statuses and how statuses jump into their respective groups automatically once chosen. Although personally, I don't use it often, I like how managers can see the workloads of designers and editors in color coordination, and based on that they can let the marketing managers know who has the capacity or whether the team is full. It helps to be aware of incoming tasks. It also helps us to determine project prioritizing and planning ahead more efficiently. As a creative person, it's nice to see their timeline of jobs done as accomplishments.

What needs improvement?

As a marketing manager, I'm happy with the current features that we're using now. Within our company, we use different software to proof tasks or amend them so it's no problem. We're using Monday.com more on a basic level of assigning and tracking tasks and probably are missing some of the nice features. However, it would be ideal if Monday.com had this feature within itself, for example, if an input PDF or image was within it, then with one click the person can review it within Monday.com without going to different software.

For how long have I used the solution?

I've used the solution for about three years.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

Previously I've used Trello for managing freelancers and internal tasks. Then our company adapted monday.com as an official studio management tool, hence I moved to the monday.com. It's definitely easier to use and manage both internal and external stakeholders.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

Monday.com was chosen by the upper management and we've gone with it.

What other advice do I have?

We love the product and its UX.

Which deployment model are you using for this solution?
