Cost-effective, has easy collaboration capabilities, and helps track tasks
Pros and Cons
  • "Monday.com has made it much easier to keep track of a wide range of tasks whilst we have a team distributed over multiple countries and timezones."
  • "We'd like integration with SharePoint so that it becomes easier to find and share files stored in SharePoint."

What is our primary use case?

I run a small company with a virtual team spread across three countries and three different timezones. We manage all work through a range of boards on Monday. Whether that is projects like the translation of an online course, or ongoing tasks like keeping track of which expenses are missing receipts in our bookkeeping software, to a recently developed social media posting calendar we are moving more and more towards Monday

We are also looking at customer support (tickets) and a board for company objectives and KPIs.

How has it helped my organization?

Monday.com has made it much easier to keep track of a wide range of tasks whilst we have a team distributed over multiple countries and timezones. It saves a huge amount of email and people can update their tasks when required. Others can review progress or comment on it. It also allows my team to progress work with myself only having to be involved at the last step to review and approve.

We are progressively also saving money as we turn off other software platforms and move as much work into Monday. We recently turned off an expense social media scheduler for a combination of Monday and Canva (which we already had).

What is most valuable?

I love that on Monday.com I can invite as many 'guests' into our account as I need, that has made collaborating with freelancers much easier and more cost-effective. This was one of the key reasons I left another platform - it was simply to expensive to add freelancers as they all required their own paid access. With Monday.com I can have my core team with full paid access and then get as many freelancers onboard as required when we are working on a project.

There is also a continuous stream of improved functionality that opens up new possibilities.

What needs improvement?

Without having to go to the Enterprise level, I would love to see better:

Access controls so that we can securely build boards that we can share with clients to manage their work/projects (and in our own branding and own URL).

Integration with SharePoint so that it becomes easier to find and share files stored in SharePoint.

Integration with Canva so we can add a URL from a Canva design in our social media planner and it automatically shows a preview of the post image without having to also attach the Canva design as a PDF to the item on Monday.

Great integrations, helpful automation features, and excellent status visibility
Pros and Cons
  • "We have been able to keep our projects and acquisitions more organized by using the automation features to move line items over new sections based on the status."
  • "The exporting function could be improved to offer more raw data instead of being formatted like the online view."

What is our primary use case?

We use Monday.com boards to track our financial analysis for month-end financials and assign monthly tasks to specific analysts.

This is helpful to our team. It helps us to keep track of what tasks have been completed so far and maybe what needs to be prioritized and then we can refresh the board back to the original once everything is done.

We also use it to track potential acquisitions so the executive team and ownership can easily see what is in the pipeline and fill in the big picture. We are able to put in all the necessary information and update easily with automation features.

How has it helped my organization?

The team works about 75% of the time from home.

Since we moved from Basecamp to Monday.com, we have definitely seen an improvement in how our projects are tracked, and missed deadlines have decreased dramatically.

We have also been able to cut down on meetings where we would discuss what projects we are working on since the projects are tracked on the Monday.com boards.

The team has also been able to create multiple boards for deeper tracking of projects. Having all of the tracking and breakdowns of projects has definitely increased efficiency.

What is most valuable?

We like creating statuses and assigning line items to different team members.

The automation aspect is also extremely helpful. We have been able to keep our projects and acquisitions more organized by using the automation features to move line items over new sections based on the status.

Being able to integrate different apps and programs has also been very helpful with communication with other teams within the company. The suggested automation and integrations are helpful for those who aren't as skilled at creating boards.

What needs improvement?

The exporting function could be improved to offer more raw data instead of being formatted like the online view. This would be helpful for exporting boards from other departments that teams might need to work from.

Also, the limited client access could be improved. When sharing boards with clients outside of the company, it can be very difficult for them to navigate to do anything within the board. Monday could add more project management tools and tracking features to make it even better at project management and tracking.

Monday.com doesn’t have subtasks or task dependencies, meaning that users can’t break down project plans to a granular level or allow tasks to be dependent on the completion of others.

For how long have I used the solution?

I've used the solution for two years.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

We used to use Basecamp. We switched due to the fact that Basecamp was just awful and outdated.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

I was not privy to evaluation discussions.

Improves efficiency with a great Inbox and excellent customization capabilities
Pros and Cons
  • "The board customization is an incredibly valuable feature."
  • "I struggle to use the mobile version of Monday.com."

What is our primary use case?

We use Monday.com as our primary method of communication in an entirely remote agency environment.

The agency went remote at the beginning of the pandemic and needed a communication and file sharing solution as we were no longer sharing office space.

We use Monday.com not only to communicate throughout the workday but also use it to manage individual jobs and deadlines for these jobs. We also use Monday.com to share project files with one another so that we can work collaboratively on our projects.

How has it helped my organization?

Before we started using Monday.com we were using an alternative project management software, however, the features were relatively limited in comparison to Monday.com.

Monday.com has improved the efficiency in which we manage jobs and clients. It has also improved our overall company communication and effectiveness. Monday.com has allowed us to maintain a company culture and working structure while working completely remotely. It helps us manage our deadlines effectively and ensure that we stay on top of all of our deadlines.

What is most valuable?

Personally, my favorite feature on Monday.com is the Inbox. The Inbox helps me identify the most important notifications as these are the ones that I specifically mentioned. This ensures that I don't miss any pressing questions or briefs from my team.

I also find that board customization is an incredibly valuable feature, we are able to customize the columns of our boards according to our needs and the role that a particular board plays in our organization. Board customization helps us to make Monday.com fit our individual needs as an organization.

What needs improvement?

I am incredibly happy with the desktop experience of Monday.com, however, I struggle to use the mobile version of Monday.com. Monday.com's mobile app would be an incredibly useful tool allowing me to manage jobs and touch base with my team on the go, however, the mobile app is not suited to a mobile user's experience. The Monday.com mobile app is similar to the desktop app just smaller; I find that the information is cramped and hard to navigate. The desktop format is not suited for a mobile user experience and I think that the user experience of the Monday.com mobile app needs to be completely rethought.

For how long have I used the solution?

I've used the solution for about two and a half years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

Monday.com is very stable. In the last 2.5 years of using the platform, it has only been down once or twice and for relatively short periods of time and did not disrupt the workflow.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

I work in a relatively small team and Monday.com is incredibly useful for our team size in regards to communication and costing. However, the platform is scalable and would help the efficiency of larger teams and companies as well.

How are customer service and support?

We, fortunately, have not had issues with Monday.com where we have needed customer support, however, on the few occasions where the platform has had outages their website. https://status.monday.com/ has been invaluable in keeping us in the loop in regards to the outage and what is being done about it.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Positive

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

Prior to using Monday.com, the company made use of Trello. Trello was a useful software and easy to use but did not have as many features or as much customization as Monday.com.

How was the initial setup?

Yes, Monday.com was very straightforward in terms of setup. I did not find that starting on the platform was complicated and got the hang of using the platform very quickly.

What about the implementation team?

We used the solution in-house.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

Monday.com is incredibly useful for smaller teams as you pay per user on the platform. We use the Pro package, however, there are other plans for different prices as well.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

We looked at staying with Trello and we looked at other software such as Todoist and Microsoft Teams.

What other advice do I have?

Monday.com is by far my favorite work-from-home solution.

Which deployment model are you using for this solution?

Public Cloud

If public cloud, private cloud, or hybrid cloud, which cloud provider do you use?

Google

Great features with good customization and helpful recent updates views
Pros and Cons
  • "I mostly like automation and recently added custom automation so we can brainstorm and find the best fit for our particular use-case."
  • "It would be good if we could have the option to choose custom colors for the status fields and groups so we can make some boards more branded."

What is our primary use case?

I work in an online gambling company. We deal on daily basis with internal and external B2B and B2C projects. Our use case includes all possible scenarios: project management (high level and detailed), Teams management, and collaboration via vacation boards and boards with the tasks. We use forms in Monday boards to log in requests from different departments in one place, we use Monday.com to manage GDPR requests and customer journeys, HR tasks and statistics, we even used board to manage company bookings. Long story short, Monday.com can suit every possible use case that you may have.

How has it helped my organization?

Since we started using Monday.com (until now), this system improved a lot of things in our company. We moved from old-fashioned Excel tables to the new, fresh, modern, engaging, and collaborative environment, which is full of creativity and provides us with better visibility and collaboration over all projects and tasks, vacations, and schedules that our teams use. The part that we like the most is that this system could be easily automated and integrated with other tools like Outlook/Zendesk or Teams.

What is most valuable?

I can say that all features are vital. I mostly like automation and recently added custom automation so we can brainstorm and find the best fit for our particular use-case.

I personally like the feature "recent updates". With this tool, I can easily open every board and see quickly what are the recent changes made. Additionally, I like the mirroring column feature it helps us divide projects between a high level and detail and update things on another board without switching tabs. Also, I like reminders and in-app notifications, they're very helpful and could be easily customized.

What needs improvement?

It would be good if we could have the option to choose custom colors for the status fields and groups so we can make some boards more branded.

Maybe automation could be reconsidered and updated a bit. We managed to find the automation that will fit our use case. Regarding automation, I would like to see an improved search area as it's not always user-friendly as well.

I've gotten feedback from the team that it will be very helpful if Monday.com would allow filtering by "creation date" and "last update" columns.

For how long have I used the solution?

I've used the solution for three or more years.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

We did use Asana. It wasn't that user-friendly or loved by the team.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

I cannot say what the pricing is.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

I cannot say what we evaluated previously.

Saves time, offers great collaboration tools and is very user-friendly
Pros and Cons
  • "The solution offers the simplicity of use with no need for 'experts' to build a suitable product for us (like Salesforce does, for example)."
  • "I'd love it if there was an instant messenger built into the product so I could talk with other teammates live in-product, as opposed to needing another solution like Slack, Google for chat, or Signal."

What is our primary use case?

We have several music schools where we provide students of all ages private music lessons and group classes. We teach private lessons on guitar, bass, drums, piano, ukulele, voice, and almost every other instrument you can imagine. We use Monday.com for lead management and form collection on our website.

When a parent goes to our site, reviews what we offer, and chooses to learn more, there is a Monday.com form for sign-up. We then are able to use the Monday.com board to efficiently delegate and follow-up on the lead. We also use the form as an organizational tool when building programs for our students, using its powerful tools to help us with logistics and coordination.

How has it helped my organization?

Monday.com immensely improved our organization and allowed us to simplify our sales lead processes. We looked at other products, like Salesforce, that are way too expensive and way too complicated for our needs. Once we found Monday.com, we were up and running within 5 minutes. It was surprising that a new product, which I am normally resistant to implementing across my team, was so easy to implement and was so quickly accepted as the solution by my team.

Additionally, the form collection tool eliminated the need for Integromat and other intermediary solutions to take data from our old form and put it in a spreadsheet for processing. Monday.com eliminated redundancies, costs and time.

What is most valuable?

The solution offers the simplicity of use with no need for 'experts' to build a suitable product for us (like Salesforce does, for example). The appearance as well makes it a right-off-the-bat winner for us.

The submission form collection and collaborative tools have been amazing for us and have completely changed how we process new leads and related data. The form collection tool eliminated the need for products like iItegromat and other intermediary solutions to move the data from a Squarespace form to a spreadsheet, which wasn't very user-friendly or consistent.

All-in-all, Monday.com has changed how we worked for the better and easily saves us dozens of man-hours a week.

What needs improvement?

I'd love it if there was an instant messenger built into the product so I could talk with other teammates live in-product, as opposed to needing another solution like Slack, Google for chat, or Signal.

I'd also like to see conditional logic on forms included in future releases (kind of like typeform.com conditional logic).

I would love if there was an integration with Calendly.com to make call scheduling a bit easier and more integrated. At this time, I have to manually move data, updates, and appointments between Calendly and Monday.com.

For how long have I used the solution?

We've been using Monday.com for two years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

It's been very good in terms of stability, aside from a few days of downtime which were inconvenient.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

This can be scaled very highly if the board is built properly.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

We used a gross-looking spreadsheet as products like Salesforce.com were too robust, costly, and difficult to implement. When we found Monday.com, we knew we had found our solution.

How was the initial setup?

The initial setup is very simple.

What about the implementation team?

The setup was done completely in-house. I didn't want to use vendors.

What was our ROI?

The ROI is very high. We save dozens of man-hours a week thanks to Monday.com and it has made processing leads so much easier.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

I found it to be very transparent. You start with the lowest tier and work up to a middle or higher tier as is needed.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

We looked into Salesforce.com and a few other options that I don't remember.

Which deployment model are you using for this solution?

On-premises

Improves processes, helps track quality issues, and is very customizable
Pros and Cons
  • "The feature I have found most valuable is the automation aspect."
  • "Having easier access to training videos on how all features can interact with one another would be helpful."

What is our primary use case?

The company decided to use Monday.com due to the flexibility users have with coding how the product or project will flow through each department.

Our products flow through receiving, product development, sales, and project management. Monday allows us to see where the bottlenecks are in the design review process.

We also use Monday to keep track of quality issues that arise in the field. Our quality control board allows all team members to update where we are in the quality review process.

How has it helped my organization?

Monday has improved our process by seeing where products get held up. Poor implementation and training have caused individuals to reject using the platform. Having easier access to training videos and guidelines/advice on how to implement and how different features can interact with one another on Monday would be helpful. This could be set up as courses or modules to take on the website, allowing management to require employees to take those courses. Management could log in to see who did/did not complete the course. In addition to this, having practice automation problems, adding new boards, etc. would be helpful.

What is most valuable?

The feature I have found most valuable is the automation aspect. As mentioned previously, there has been some rejection to learn the automations aspect to Monday. This could be because of poor implementation on the company's behalf.

Another feature I find most valuable is the ability to customize the columns on each board. Our quality control board and product samples board has the ability to add pictures, reports, and other necessary information. This creates a single spot where all the information can be found.

What needs improvement?

As mentioned previously, having easier access to training videos on how all features can interact with one another would be helpful. Some can easily get overwhelmed with how much flexibility there is causing them to be unsure where to start. This might lead to frustrations.

Case studies on how other companies successfully implemented Monday could help too. The product and tools are great but some companies may need guidance on tailoring it to their needs. Highlighting the differences between boards workspaces, and dashboards and how they interact would also be helpful.

For how long have I used the solution?

We have been using Monday.com for project management and product development processes for 1.5 years.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

We did not use a different solution

How was the initial setup?

The initial setup was difficult due to the fact that management did not understand how to implement it and what was the best course of action. Having access to a list of tips, guides on how to implement, or case studies on how other companies implemented Monday would be very helpful. I believe management did not know where to start and how to maximize the benefits Monday provided.

What about the implementation team?

We handled the setup in-house.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

I am only a user of Monday. I do not handle the purchasing.

Easy to use, improves productivity, and has helpful technical support
Pros and Cons
  • "I love the automation and level of customization available for the automation."
  • "If I have 20 items that all have a deadline of 3/24, I'd love to be able to update them all at one time rather than individually."

What is our primary use case?

I work for a small digital marketing agency. We use Monday.com for almost every facet of our business - from managing all of our website design and graphic design projects to Customer Relationship Management to website maintenance requests.

I personally use Monday.com for managing all the details of our website design projects. Given that these projects have hundreds of tasks across many weeks, incorporating Monday.com into our workflow has not only made our lives easier it has also given our clients a level of confidence in being able to see the project fully planned out.

How has it helped my organization?

Monday.com has been a massive step forward for our team in terms of boosting efficiency and productivity.

It provides an easy-to-use platform for us to track the many details that go into a website design project and easily house all of our communications with our clients.

Before using Monday.com, I was using a lot of checklists and relying on email communications - which was very time-consuming. Having everything in one place so the client can easily get a global view of the project and when to expect things from our team allows us to manage more projects and ultimately earn more revenue. At this point, I wouldn't even know how to function without this tool.

What is most valuable?

I love the automation and level of customization available for the automation. It really helps us all stay on track and on top of our deadlines.

I love the Gantt chart view which allows me to see where projects will potentially overlap or where individual team members may have too much on their plate. Monday.com allows me to see ahead and plan ahead so we can minimize frustration while maximizing our output.

I love that I can easily duplicate boards - which is a huge time saver when I'm setting up new website design projects.

What needs improvement?

I would love it if there was a way to update multiple cells at once with the same data point. For instance, if I have 20 items that all have a deadline of 3/24, I'd love to be able to update them all at one time rather than individually.

I would love to have a way to hide an entire group within a board from the client for internal conversations. This may exist; I just haven't figured it out yet if that's the case.

Honestly, those are the only two things I have run into, other than that, I have everything I need.

For how long have I used the solution?

I've used the solution for more than two years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

It seems very stable.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

My impression is that it is highly scalable. The more you use Monday.com, the more ways you will find to use monday.com.

How are customer service and support?

Anytime we have a question about Monday.com, the support team is quick to respond.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Positive

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

We previously used Basecamp which was also nice, however, we felt that Monday.com offered a much more robust offering that could be used across many more facets of our business.

We had previously used Asana (as a guest) on some of our client's accounts. We preferred Monday.com's interface and functionality.

How was the initial setup?

I didn't personally do the setup, however, it is my understanding that it was straightforward.

What about the implementation team?

The setup was handled in-house.

What was our ROI?

I could not put a number on ROI, however, I know it has improved our efficiency which allows us to take on more projects.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

The money that you spend on Monday.com is well worth it. It will likely pay for itself in terms of the time it will save you.

Increases transparency and offers great project and workload management
Pros and Cons
  • "Monday.com increases the transparency of project management and team management."
  • "Even when the person leaves the team, he/she can still access all the files he/she created."

What is our primary use case?

The primary use cases of the solution are documentation for projects and project management.

How has it helped my organization?

Monday.com increases the transparency of project management and team management.

What is most valuable?

Project management and workload management are the most valuable aspects of the product.

What needs improvement?

We would like personal documentation if possible. Even when the person leaves the team, he/she can still access all the files he/she created.
