Offers many features, is flexible, and can be configured in multiple ways
    Pros and Cons
    • "You can configure whatever you want in great detail."
    • "They should work to make it simpler."

What is our primary use case?

Whenever I try to use it, whenever I plan a meeting, I visit the website and set it up. We use it primarily for meetings.

    What is most valuable?

The solution has many features. For example, it has more features than Zoom, which we also use.

You can configure whatever you want in great detail. It's very flexible.

    The solution scales well.

    What needs improvement?

It's a bit complex. There's more complexity involved than with, for example, Zoom. The extra features it offers makes everything just a little bit more confusing. They should work to make it simpler.

The initial setup can be a bit difficult.

The stability needs to be better.

For how long have I used the solution?

We've been using the solution for almost two years now. We've been using it since the beginning of the pandemic.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

I wouldn't describe it as stable. I've had issues with it in the past.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

In terms of scalability, you can install it to every client and you can invite hundreds of people into one meeting. The scalability is high and very good.

Thousands of people use the solution in our organization. It's used at all levels from management down.

I'm not sure if there are plans to increase usage or not.

How are customer service and support?

I've never actually dealt with technical support and therefore cannot comment on their service level. Whenever I have issues, I reach out to my internal IT team. They may have contacted WebEx at some point, however, I can't say for certain that's the case.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

We also use a solution called Jabber, which can communicate with Cisco. I also use Zoom.

    How was the initial setup?

The initial setup is a bit more difficult than, for example, Zoom, which is quite straightforward.

There is just one person needed to install and maintain the product.

    What about the implementation team?

I tried to install it myself, however, ultimately, I needed to get help from our system admins.

What other advice do I have?

We are a Cisco partner. We're also customers.

I would recommend the product to others.

I'd rate it at an eight out of ten.

Which deployment model are you using for this solution?

Beneficial remote troubleshooting, simple installation, but lacking collaboration
    Pros and Cons
    • "The installation is not difficult."
    • "The collaborative features could improve in Webex. There should not be the typical one on one connection that we have had in the past."

What is our primary use case?

We use Webex for end-user support purposes whenever there requires troubleshooting. For example, if we want to connect to America or Europe or a different country for the support we can.

    What needs improvement?

The collaborative features could improve in Webex. There should not be the typical one on one connection that we have had in the past.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using Webex for approximately 15 years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

I have found Webex to be stable.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

    Webex is scalable.

I have noticed a decrease in the usage of this solution in our organization. We have approximately 10 people who are using this solution in my organization.

    How was the initial setup?

    The installation is not difficult.

    What about the implementation team?

I am able to do the installation myself.

What other advice do I have?

I rate Webex a seven out of ten.

Easy to set up with excellent technical support and good stability
    Pros and Cons
    • "Cisco is a pioneer in this particular technology. The features and technology have been adopted and they have been integrated with other solutions."
    • "The licensing could be a bit simpler."

What is our primary use case?

We primarily use the solution purely as a end-user support. We use it specifically for virtual meetings,

    What is most valuable?

Cisco is a pioneer in this particular technology. The features and technology have been adopted and they have been integrated with other solutions.

Cisco Webex is definitely a good solution.

    The product is stable.

We find the solution to be scalable.

The initial setup is pretty simple.

The technical support on offer is excellent.

    What needs improvement?

The licensing could be a bit simpler.

For how long have I used the solution?

We've used the solution for three or four years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

The stability of the solution is very good. There are no bugs or glitches. It doesn't crash or freeze. It's reliable.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

The scalability is good. If a company needs to expand it, it can do so.

We have three or four engineers that work on the solution.

How are customer service and support?

Cisco has very good technical support across all of its offerings, not just WebEx. They are helpful and responsive. We're quite pleased with their level of service.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

We've used this solution for a very, very long time. We didn't use a different product previously. We do also use Zoom alongside WebEx.

    How was the initial setup?

The installation is quite straightforward. It's not a difficult implementation.

That said, I did not deal with a full implementation and therefore I can't speak to how long the deployment takes.

One engineer is more than enough to handle deployment and maintenance. With cloud-based solutions, they simply have to activate the licenses and download the agent. That's basically it. Cisco has made it easy.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

In terms of the licensing part, sometimes we don't understand the product line. It's a major difference between Cisco and Zoom. Zoom is more straightforward in terms of licensing and how costs are laid out.

    The solution is subscription-based.

The product is expensive. Recently, during the pandemic, they came up with some promos however, otherwise, in a normal scenario, it is expensive.

What other advice do I have?

I'd rate the solution at a nine out of ten.

I'd recommend the solution to other users and organizations.

Useful for virtual meetings but could be cheaper
    Pros and Cons
    • "We use Webex for virtual meetings."
    • "To make Webex more competitive, I would suggest lowering the price and providing some of the same features that are in Teams or Zoom."

What is our primary use case?

We use Webex for virtual meetings.

    What needs improvement?

We have actually shifted from Webex to Teams. It was a company decision made by a few of the managers. To make Webex more competitive, I would suggest lowering the price and providing some of the same features that are in Teams or Zoom.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

We have a yearly license. I think the price of Webex could be cheaper.

What other advice do I have?

I rate Webex seven out of 10.

Has the ability to join meetings via phone but we have experienced connectivity issues
    Pros and Cons
    • "The ability to join by phone is the most valuable feature. I also think that it's much simpler to use and it's a Cisco product so I think it's the industry standard."
    • "The connectivity can be improved because sometimes when we talk to clients that are overseas the connection is kind of poor. The video will be pixelated and we will need to turn off the video because the voice gets delayed."

What is our primary use case?

Our primary use case is for virtual meetings.

    What is most valuable?

The ability to join by phone is the most valuable feature. I also think that it's much simpler to use and it's a Cisco product so I think it's the industry standard.

    What needs improvement?

The connectivity can be improved because sometimes when we talk to clients that are overseas the connection is kind of poor. The video will be pixelated and we will need to turn off the video because the voice gets delayed.

For how long have I used the solution?

We have been using Webex Meetings for two months.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

I don't have any scalability issues.

How are customer service and technical support?

We don't really contact customer support because we have isolated issues.

What other advice do I have?

I would rate it a six out of ten. It's not that bad but it's not excellent.

They should improve the overall connection stability. So that if we are on the other side of the world, we won't have issues where the video lags or voice is delayed. They are isolated issues for us. It could be that our ISPs are the problem.

I would recommend Webex for a quick meeting so that employees can meet.

Easy-to-use Virtual Training Solution Which Integrates With Outlook

    What is most valuable?

I enjoy conducting virtual training in the WebEx training room. I’m in Learning & Development and delivering training virtually with a tool that easily integrates with Outlook is great.

How has it helped my organization?

Ease of use; people in our company are familiar with WebEx meetings, so to move to the training platform didn’t take a lot of effort or knowledge share.

We are conducting various training sessions frequently using this platform.

    What needs improvement?

    For the Training centre:

    1. When you use the whiteboard, you cannot MOVE the contributions of learners.
    2. To co-facilitate and have all the features, e.g., mute or unmute learners, assign permissions, etc. It seems to be difficult.
    3. Unmuting only certain learners, not the whole class, or muting all but not the facilitators seems to be troublesome.

For how long have I used the solution?

    Four years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

    No.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

    Not yet.

How are customer service and technical support?

I haven’t ask for tech support yet.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

Used Saba. Scheduling and the integration with Outlook is much easier with WebEx.

    How was the initial setup?

    Easy enough.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

    Not available.

What other advice do I have?

With IT support and global company licenses, it is easy to use.

Disclosure: My company has a business relationship with this vendor other than being a customer: Partnership with Cisco.
