We primarily use the solution for virtual meetings. My company is using the Cisco WebEx for most of their meetings.

Straightforward to access and easy to use but sometimes we have connectivity issues
Pros and Cons
- "We can do the global meeting with this solution."
- "Sometimes we've had issues with the connection."
What is our primary use case?
What is most valuable?
It's very easy to access.
It's straightforward to use and navigate around.
We can do the global meeting with this solution.
Once you have an account, you can always set up meetings with people via Outlook. It's very simple. If you need to, you can just simply share the link with the people.
Users can connect from anywhere. If they have internet access or they have a phone, they can join a meeting.
What needs improvement?
Sometimes we've had issues with the connection.
For how long have I used the solution?
We've been using the solution since that pandemic started. We've used it for a few years now.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?
The stability is pretty good. We had a multi-meeting, multi-location connected meeting, and it worked pretty well. We needed help from our IT team to set it up, however, once it has started, it worked well. It didn't crash or freeze. There weren't glitches.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
The solution can scale well and we haven't faced any limitations. We've had a global meeting without issue, for example.
Our entire organization uses the solution. There are thousands of employees.
How are customer service and support?
We normally deal with our own IT team and not outside technical support. Therefore, I cannot speak to how helpful or responsive they are.
How was the initial setup?
The initial setup is very straightforward. It's not overly complex or difficult.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
I can't speak to the cost. I don't handle the billing aspects of the solution.
What other advice do I have?
I'd rate the solution at a seven out of ten. It offers a good connection and is easy to use, however, sometimes we see there's a connectivity issue.

Comparable with other products, good screen share, and good functionality
Pros and Cons
- "Screen share is the most valuable feature."
- "An opportunity they could benefit from would be a version that includes meeting transcription. I usually use a third-party product to do transcription."
What is most valuable?
Screen share is the most valuable feature.
What needs improvement?
An opportunity they could benefit from would be a version that includes meeting transcription. I usually use a third-party product to do transcription.
In terms of Screen share, it would be helpful to have more control over what is being presented on the screen. They may have that functionality, but I've never used it. For example, being able to click back to look at previous slides, even though the presenter has gone forward, or having some type of pointer mechanism that helps to call out different areas of the screen when presenting.
They may already have a function for this that I am not aware of, but I would like to see more whiteboarding capabilities. I would think of this in terms of post-it notes or other things where you can facilitate some interactive engagement. There are products like Miro and CloudBoard, as well as a slew of others of a similar nature. I believe Microsoft Teams has something similar built-in. But, given how much time people spend in online meetings, I believe there should be ways to engage or create more engagement with the participants.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have been using Webex for approximately six months.
We use the most current Windows-based version.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
Overall, it is pretty reliable. Webex is fairly stable.
How are customer service and support?
I have not had to use technical support.
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
I am also using Zoom. I use Zoom more frequently than I have used Webex.
Which other solutions did I evaluate?
I have been doing some research on Robotic Process Automation, Automation Anywhere, and UiPath.
What other advice do I have?
I would suggest going through some type of tutorial. There's functionality under the hood that isn't always obvious, or necessarily easy to find. I have run into this type of problem before, such as how to flip the switch so that when you start a meeting, you're not automatically muted, and so on. You have to understand your configuration settings so that you don't waste time on silly challenges, particularly when you're in the middle of a meeting.
I would rate Webex a nine out of ten. I think it's comparable to other products on the market. I have a preference for Zoom just because I am more familiar with it and its capabilities. But apart from that, I think it's a decent product.
Which deployment model are you using for this solution?
Public Cloud

The screen-sharing tools and audio controls are nice
Pros and Cons
- "I like WebEx's stability and ease of use. The screen-sharing tools and audio controls are also nice."
- "I was in a meeting on the free version where there were no controls. You couldn't mute somebody or put it in dedicated speaker mode. It was an important meeting, and because of the lack of an ability to control who the speakers were, we got a version of a heckler. Well, it wasn't really a heckler per se. It was just somebody who thinks they know everything."
What is most valuable?
I like WebEx's stability and ease of use. The screen-sharing tools and audio controls are also nice.
What needs improvement?
I was in a meeting on the free version where there were no controls. You couldn't mute somebody or put it in dedicated speaker mode. It was an important meeting, and because of the lack of an ability to control who the speakers were, we got a version of a heckler. Well, it wasn't really a heckler per se. It was just somebody who thinks they know everything.
For how long have I used the solution?
I've had a WebEx account for more than 10 years.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
WebEx is stable. It works.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
I don't use WebEx for large meetings, but it can scale up. I work in tandem with another guy in the automotive space. He has regular meetings of anywhere from 16 to 30 people. He can easily manage the speakers and things like that. He pays for the subscription and gets all the features because he needs them.
How was the initial setup?
Installing WebEx is straightforward. It's just a couple of clicks on an executable installer. You can log in with an ID or not.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
I use the free version, not the enterprise version. The only compelling reason to go for paid WebEx pay is if you're hosting large meetings.
What other advice do I have?
I rate WebEx 10 out of 10.
Which deployment model are you using for this solution?

Handles present demands while future-proofing your needs
Pros and Cons
- "The solution is very valuable for conference calls, as a lot of businesses are switching from work-from-home."
- "When it was just two people trying to conference, it was easier. But now I see there are times when many people have to be on the call at the same time. That's definitely something that Webex can help with."
What is our primary use case?
We use Cisco Webex for meetings. And we have different packages for that. It can also be integrated with Teams.
How has it helped my organization?
We recently switched over to Webex, and the changes allow us to make conference calls up to 100 members at the same time, depending on the package we go with. It can be done from a desk phone. There is screen sharing, group chat, and all of that included in Webex.
What is most valuable?
The solution is very valuable for conference calls because I see a lot of businesses are switching from work-from-home. When it was just two people trying to conference, it was easier. But now I see there are times when many people have to be on the call at the same time. That's definitely something that Webex can help with. The file-sharing is helpful too, so you aren't emailing all the time. The solution takes care of most of your communication needs.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
The solution is stable. We've used Webex for training before, and we have never had problems. I personally have never had problems using Webex being on those calls, because the best part is that you definitely don't need to have access to internet to attend those calls. Sometimes, if you're on the go, you could simply just dial in and be a part of the meeting as well.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
The solution is very scalable. You can have at least 100 people on a conference call.
How was the initial setup?
From what I've heard and from the training we've had, the solution does seem to be very user-friendly. One does not have to be a very high-end IT person to be able to fix these things.
What about the implementation team?
Our company does provide installation, and once the tech is on site, they can help you with most issues while they're there.
What other advice do I have?
I would rate the solution a nine out of ten. It's definitely something that is future-proofing your needs. I'm not sure how long we'll have this COVID, but this does seem to be a solution that not only handles the present demands, but also something that we would need in the future as well. With so many people working remotely, this definitely makes sense, for most businesses at least.

Easy to use, but needs password protection for meetings
Pros and Cons
- "One of the most valuable features of Webex was that it was easy to use and there were no hassles."
- "Webex could be improved by having a password-protected system. I don't remember there being any passwords for the meetings, but, presently, Zoom has meeting protection."
What is our primary use case?
My primary use case of Webex was virtual meetings. Recordings would go to the cloud, and since it was cloud-based, I used the latest version of Webex.
What is most valuable?
One of the most valuable features of Webex was that it was easy to use and there were no hassles.
What needs improvement?
Webex could be improved by having a password-protected system. I don't remember there being any passwords for the meetings, but, presently, Zoom has meeting protection.
For how long have I used the solution?
I used Webex from the time I joined my organization, in 2016, until 2019.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
Webex is stable. Comparatively, it is much better—I've had no issues.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
This solution is scalable. In my organization, Webex has been replaced by Zoom, so that's what everyone uses.
How are customer service and support?
I did not face any issues, so I never contacted technical support. The only issue I faced was the safety aspect, on a personal basis, but besides that I didn't face any issues.
How was the initial setup?
Webex was installed by the respective department in my organization's system.
What about the implementation team?
I implemented through an in-house team.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
My organization took care of the licensing. I'm guessing they did some subscription cycle, but I used the free version.
Which other solutions did I evaluate?
We have switched to using Zoom. Compared to Webex, Zoom is much more upgraded, but not as easy to use. The only thing about Webex is we didn't have any password features and all that, which we do have in Zoom. If you compare Webex and Zoom, both are good in their own rights.
Zoom's installation was easy—I did it myself and it took probably five minutes. I use Zoom for personal purposes as well as in my company. My personal one is unlicensed and just for meetings that are 15-20 minutes long. My company's version was installed by them, so I'm not sure whether it's an enterprise or free version of a license. There are over 10,000 people in my organization who use Zoom.
According to some articles I read in regards to Zoom, if I'm using it for personal purposes, it does take data. When I read the privacy policies and the terms and conditions, it takes all the data from your mobile or the laptop that you're using. So there is a threat, when you're using it for personal requirements, that it can take your data: the contact details, photos, even your bank details if you keep it on your mobile. So on a personal note, I won't use it. I have it installed, but only because of my organization's requirements. But if it's for a personal thing, no.
What other advice do I have?
I rate Webex a seven out of ten. I think I would recommend Webex to others, but password protection needs to be added.
Which deployment model are you using for this solution?

Stable, secure, and works without issue
Pros and Cons
- "The product is quite secure. Other products, such as Zoom, have had security issues raised in the media."
- "The interface could be a bit more user-friendly."
What is our primary use case?
We only use the solution for virtual meetings.
What is most valuable?
The stability, as well as the performance of the solution, are very good.
What we have seen from, for example, Google Meet, is that there is some kind of disruption or some issues which we have been facing. However, with WebEx, we have not faced any kind of issue.
The product is quite secure. Other products, such as Zoom, have had security issues raised in the media. With WebEx, we are assured our internal meetings are protected.
What needs improvement?
The interface could be a bit more user-friendly.
For how long have I used the solution?
We first had it installed with the pandemic started. We've been using it since around 2020.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
The product is quite stable and the performance is good. There are no bugs or glitches. It doesn't crash or freeze. It's reliable.
How are customer service and support?
We have our own internal support. We have one manager and four or five engineers who basically handle all issues. I don't directly deal with the troubleshooting and cannot speak to the process.
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
I'm also familiar with Zoom and Google Meet. We use these as well as WebEx. In fact, before we started using WebEx, we used Google Meet specifically.
Prior to that, we had more physical, in-person meetings, however, the pandemic has changed how we do meetings now, and we do much more virtual meetings.
WebEx is more secure than, for example, Zoom.
How was the initial setup?
As a cloud-based solution, the initial implementation is quite simple and straightforward. It's not complete or difficult at all. There is no physical installation required.
What other advice do I have?
We're using the latest version of the solution. I cannot speak to the exact version number.
I'd rate the solution at an eight out of ten. We've been pretty happy with its capabilities overall.
I would definitely recommend the solution to other users and organizations.
