Secure, and easy to use, but the joining process should be simplified
Pros and Cons
  • "It is user-friendly."
  • "I am satisfied with the performance of Webex."
  • "I think it's very inconvenient to have to enter my email address all the time just to be a visitor."
  • "I think it's very inconvenient to have to enter my email address all the time just to be a visitor."

What is our primary use case?

Webex is used for video communication and video calls.

What is most valuable?

I am satisfied with the performance of Webex.

The user interface is fine for me. It is user-friendly.

I don't have an issue with the security.

What needs improvement?

I think it's very inconvenient to have to enter my email address all the time just to be a visitor.

I didn't log in because I just attended a meeting that my manager scheduled for me and I had to retype my email address, and I believe that I should be able to click a button as a visitor. I shouldn't have to enter my email address again and again.

It should be easier to join a meeting.

For how long have I used the solution?

I started using Webex after I joined my company, and my company also uses Webex. I have been using it for one month.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

How was the initial setup?

I was not involved in the installation. It was pre-installed in the company.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

For me, there is no licensing fee.

What other advice do I have?

I would recommend this solution to others, but I'm not sure what its specific advantage is, but I use it smoothly.

I would rate Webex a six out of ten.

One aspect we like most is that the audio is clear
Pros and Cons
  • "WebEx provides the option to record the chat or delete it. You can also dial into the video on your mobile to communicate with the engineer or whoever. One aspect we like most is that the audio is clear. That is one of the most valuable features of WebEx."
  • "In the time that we've been using Webex, we haven't seen any jerking or lag in the remote sessions, and the performance is smooth compared to other third-party applications."
  • "I would like it if Webex's mobile interface had all the same application integration as the desktop. Maybe the applications work on mobile as well, but we have not tried it yet."
  • "I would like it if Webex's mobile interface had all the same application integration as the desktop."

What is our primary use case?

We use Webex to provide remote support and OEM access if we have any problems.

What is most valuable?

WebEx provides the option to record the chat or delete it. You can also dial into the video on your mobile to communicate with the engineer or whoever. One aspect we like most is that the audio is clear. That is one of the most valuable features of WebEx.

What needs improvement?

I would like it if Webex's mobile interface had all the same application integration as the desktop. Maybe the applications work on mobile as well, but we have not tried it yet.

For how long have I used the solution?

We started using Webex in 2019, so we've been using it for about two years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

In the time that we've been using Webex, we haven't seen any jerking or lag on in the remote sessions. The performance is smooth compared to other third-party applications.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

We don't need to scale Webex because I work in a data center. We don't have many people working at the same time, and we're working in shifts, so 10 people clock in, and 10 clock out. That means we only need 10 licenses.

How are customer service and support?

Cisco support is great.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

We tried Zoom, Team Viewer, and another solution. We prefer Webex because it works well on the web application compared to others.

How was the initial setup?

Installing Webex is simple. It doesn't take more than half an hour or 45 minutes tops, and there is no maintenance after installation.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

Features matter more than the price for us. As long as we get all the features we want and it fits our budget, then the price doesn't matter. I can't speak for other companies. We have tried other applications, and we run into some problems that we don't see in Webex.

What other advice do I have?

I rate Webex 10 out of 10. We've recommended it to many of the companies we work with. Two or three out of 10 have gone with Webex.

  • "Webex has frequent updates and it is very good."
  • "Webex has frequent updates and it is very good."
  • "Webex could improve by adding captions for the translation."
  • "Webex could improve by adding captions for the translation."

What is most valuable?

Webex has frequent updates and it is very good.

What needs improvement?

Webex could improve by adding captions for the translation.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using Webex for approximately five years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

Webex is a stable solution.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

Webex is scalable, there are rooms that people can join.

We have approximately 2,000 users using this solution in my organization.

How are customer service and support?

The technical support from Webex is good.

How was the initial setup?

The initial setup of Webex is easy.

What about the implementation team?

We have approximately four or five engineers that support this solution.

What other advice do I have?

I rate Webex a seven out of ten.

User-friendly, great for virtual meetings and offers an easy setup
Pros and Cons
  • "In terms of stability, the solution is reliable."
  • "The product is very easy to use, it's user-friendly, and the overall simplicity of the solution is great."
  • "Everything just needs to be shrunk down without sacrificing quality so that not so much bandwidth is needed in order to hold meetings effectively."
  • "The video requirement is kind of high."

What is our primary use case?

We primarily use the solution for virtual meetings.

What is most valuable?

You can use the solution for free.

It's a great solution if you need to connect for a virtual meeting.

The product is very easy to use. It's user-friendly. The overall simplicity of the solution is great.

Its audio is pretty good.

The solution scales well.

In terms of stability, the solution is reliable.

The initial setup is very straightforward and the deployment is fast.

What needs improvement?

The video requirement is kind of high. It requires a more stable network. There should be something done to compress the video - to compress the video size, not the quality while still maintaining good quality. Everything just needs to be shrunk down without sacrificing quality so that not so much bandwidth is needed in order to hold meetings effectively.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

The solution is very stable. It's reliable. the performance is good. There are no bugs or glitches. It doesn't crash or freeze.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

The solution can scale well. If a company needs to expand it, it can do so.

We have about 30 people that use the solution.

We do plans to increase the usage in the future. As we increase the number of staff, we will increase the number of licenses we buy.

How are customer service and support?

We haven't had any issues with technical support. We are satisfied with them overall.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

We use Zoom and Microsoft Teams alongside Cisco Webex.

Mostly, we use Microsoft Teams, which we actually pay a licensing fee for. We tend to use WebEx if a meeting was set up under it and in those cases, we can use it for free.

How was the initial setup?

We have found the initial setup to be very simple, very straightforward. The deployment is quick and only takes about 15 minutes or so. It's an easy process. It's not difficult.

You only need one person to handle deployment or maintenance tasks.

What about the implementation team?

I'm able to handle the setup myself. I did not need any outside help from any integrators or consultants.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

We didn't pay for this license. We just use it to connect to specific meetings. It's just a free version that we leverage.

What other advice do I have?

It's a good product I'd rate it to others.

I would rate the solution at an eight out of ten.

Which deployment model are you using for this solution?

Easy to use virtual meeting platform with a straightforward installation, but needs improvement performance-wise
Pros and Cons
  • "Easy to use virtual meeting solution. Installation was straightforward without the need for a technical team."
  • "What we like about Webex is that it's easy to use, and it's easy to set meetings and connect to meetings on this solution."
  • "Performance of this platform needs improvement. There was a stability issue, particularly glitches that kept it from running smoothly."
  • "Webex is not as stable, especially when compared to Microsoft Teams. Webex can have a lot of glitches, and does not run as smoothly as Teams."

What is our primary use case?

We use Webex for virtual meetings.

We are using Microsoft Teams for the whole organization, e.g. everybody uses Teams, but we have a Webex license because we are running a Cisco Telephony solution.

We decided to integrate Cisco telephony with Webex, particularly for our meetings in the boardroom, so we bought Webex licenses so that if we wanted to connect from our boardroom, we can use Webex.

What is most valuable?

What we like about Webex is that it's easy to use, and it's easy to set meetings and connect to meetings on this solution.

What needs improvement?

This platform has a lot of performance problems and challenges, particularly with the connection. Connecting is as easy as clicking on a link, but if you connect with so many people, Webex doesn't perform well. It doesn't run smoothly. It requires stable internet connection.

For how long have I used the solution?

I've been using Webex since the beginning of the COVID pandemic, so almost two years now.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

Webex is not as stable, especially when compared to Microsoft Teams. Webex can have a lot of glitches, and does not run as smoothly as Teams.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

Webex is a scalable solution.

How was the initial setup?

The installation of Webex was straightforward. It's a web-based solution, so you just have to log in to the Webex site, then you connect. You can do the installation yourself, without the need for a technical team.

What about the implementation team?

I installed the tool myself. There was no need for a technical team.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

I'm on a yearly subscription of Webex.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

We evaluated Microsoft Teams.

What other advice do I have?

Webex is on a cloud deployment model.

We don't have many users of this tool in our company. We have less than 10 users of it, and we don't intend to increase the number of users, because we are using Microsoft Teams more. We only use Webex when we want to integrate with our Cisco telephone solution from the boardroom.

I was able to log a case with a Cisco tech before, and he was responsive, e.g. within 24 hours for my Cisco devices, but not necessarily for Webex.

I'm giving Webex a score of seven out of ten.

Which deployment model are you using for this solution?

Comfortable, simple to use, and simple to set up
Pros and Cons
  • "Its features are easy to navigate and easy to share, and easy to conduct a meeting."
  • "Its features are easy to navigate, easy to share, and easy to conduct meetings, and we are comfortable using it."
  • "I would like to see more integration, with respect to some more unified communication activities."
  • "Integration with other systems, as well as customization, may be beneficial within the context of the specific work set."

What is our primary use case?

We primarily use Webex to connect for meeting purposes.

What is most valuable?

Its features are easy to navigate, easy to share, and easy to conduct meetings.

We are comfortable using it.

Webex is easy to use.

What needs improvement?

Integration with other systems, as well as customization, may be beneficial within the context of the specific work set.

I would like to see more integration, with respect to some more unified communication activities.

For how long have I used the solution?

In my professional experience, I have been using Webex for almost eight or nine years.

I currently work with the most recent update.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

Overall, my impression of the stability is good.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

Webex is a scalable product.

In our company, we have more than one hundred users.

Webex is used on a daily basis rather than on a regular basis.

How are customer service and support?

We have not contacted technical support. We have not had any issues.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

I am working in research and consulting sales. The majority of the products I use are from Microsoft, such as Excel.

We do use Skype, as well as VMware for virtual connections.

The main difference in using Skype is that it's all integrated with all of your Microsoft Teams and Microsoft applications. That's a significant distinction. I believe Webex is also integrated to some extent, but I believe Skype is more easily integrated with Teams.

How was the initial setup?

The initial setup is straightforward. It is not a complex process.

The setup does not take a lot of time and the installation is less.

It doesn't require a lot of maintenance, I believe, that everything is, already accompanying it.

What about the implementation team?

We finished the deployment in-house; everything was done within the company.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

I am not aware of the pricing details.

What other advice do I have?

I would recommend this solution to others who are thinking about using it because the navigation and setup are simple.

I would rate Webex an eight out of ten.

Which deployment model are you using for this solution?

Public Cloud

If public cloud, private cloud, or hybrid cloud, which cloud provider do you use?

Virtual meeting, video conferencing, and collaboration tool which offers easy setup and deployment, ease of use, and top-notch support
Pros and Cons
  • "Stable and scalable solution for video conferencing, virtual meetings, and collaboration, with top-notch technical support."
  • "One of the best things about Webex which I liked was that it was simple and to the point."
  • "There were some latency issues that could have been addressed if they had a data center in our location, e.g. the African region."
  • "The only reason why we could not stay with Webex was because they didn't have a data center in the African region."

What is most valuable?

One of the best things about Webex which I liked was that it was simple and to the point. It separated its video conferencing capabilities from other extra capabilities, so you had two different products for the virtual meetings and for collaboration. This separation, these different products, made it easy to do what you wanted to do, and to get to the point of what you wanted to do.

What needs improvement?

The only reason why we could not stay with Webex was because they didn't have a data center in the African region. There were latency issues as well, so we couldn't continue using the tool. These are its areas for improvement. Other than these issues, there's no other area for improvement, because Webex is good the way it is.

Having a data center in the African region will help improve the latency issues, without incurring additional costs. There is a way that you can improve the latency issues, but you have to buy hardware from Cisco to put into your data center. Not a lot of companies would like to do that.

For how long have I used the solution?

I've used Webex a year ago, for six months.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

We found the stability of this solution satisfying.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

We were satisfied with the scalability of Webex.

How are customer service and support?

My rating for Cisco tech support is ten out of ten. Bruno, who handled our issues, was top-notch. Anything we needed, Bruno was on top of it. He was top-notch, so 100%, it's a ten out of ten.

How was the initial setup?

The initial setup and deployment of Webex was easy and straightforward. It was on point, and there were no issues.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

I evaluated Microsoft Teams.

What other advice do I have?

We used an open-source license for Webex.

We had 2,500 users of Webex. The meetings we had using it had a maximum of 2,500 users.

I'm rating Webex a ten out of ten, functionality-wise.
